Sgt. Riley seemed to contradict himself in the same interview. Did he misspeak? He did say "more of a suspect" and then said it didn't mean the PO *is* a suspect. Did he retract that or has LE contradicted him? I'm unaware if they have.

I don't see BG doing a major drug deal. Those kinds of deals, IMO, involve A LOT of "inventory," cash, and people. Major drug deals are, IMO, more sophisticated with other people involved as look-outs, etc. BG didn't have enough drugs or cash on him to be doing anything of that magnitude.

I really feel like this is a predator that happened upon two innocent girls, and pounced.

Maybe there are things you all know that I don't. I don't frequently read Internet rumors.

I do think he had a look-out...who ambushed the girls when they tried to get off the S side of the bridge.

I agree with you , a predator that got lucky with two young girls all alone and nobody about and he took his chance.

He may of walked that trail before on the look out but never got lucky , I think this was sexually motivated and I just hope Libby has done enough to help catch the person.

Just a note:
If they all walked across the creek the police would find the recently broken ground on the bank the day they started processing the scene. They would find shoe prints somewhere along the way. Police are doing a good job of keeping evidence secure, showing their deep commitment to successfully getting this criminal.

I thought the did find footprints.
I was thinking that's how they found the girls.

Yes, so the same could be said about the time/date of death. Until officials come out and tell us the actual dates, I believe that going by dates from the Mortuary, which are different, yet going on the assumption that they did die on the same day is also a mixed message.

I know LE has reasons why these keep these things close to the breast but it certainly gets in the way of my sleuthing. Just sayin'.

Yes, I sure wish LE would say something so we had something new to dissect.

There really isn't much to go on and, while we wait for official statements, nothing much to talk about but rehashing and going over every statement and photo looking for something we may have missed the first 100 times we saw or heard it.

I've said I'm trying to keep an open mind without turning a blind eye to things that are red flags to me and that's still true. IMO

OTish but related to one of the ISP Officers we're familiar with here.

A month or so ago a video came out that quickly went viral featuring an Officer showing an amazing thing we can do with our cars. I saw it then and chuckled appropriately but then came across it again yesterday and recognized him. It's Sgt. John Perrine, one of the PIOs we "know"...

I don't live in Delphi so I may not be the best person to answer but the two times I've been there since the murders, it's been depressing. There are ribbons everywhere and all of the storefronts had the girls' photos up and their names on chalkboards on the sidewalks. They had roadside, electronic signs in numerous places around town that kept flashing: 'Seeking info on double homicide' so I'm sure the residents can't "get away"' from this. When my friend and I first went out to locate this bridge to lay flowers for the girls, we couldn't find it. There are no signs up around labeling where it is or advertising it. We drove around for almost 1.5 hours trying to use Google Maps to find it! It wasn't easy! In the middle of Delphi, they have a beautiful park called Canal Park with much more to see and do. This trail for the MHB is on the outskirts of town right next to the Hoosier Heartland Highway. I just can't imagine BG "stumbled upon it." Going out to that place requires consciousness and work.

Some members have inquired about the trail. It appears that the railroad right-of-way (RoW) goes for many miles, and can be walked on rather easily. I posted this video many threads back, it was posted to YouTube in December. It shows video of where the person walked from, which was miles away in another town, video of the trail leading to the bridge, and some really nice still shots from what appears to be Summer or Spring time. The part that grabbed me was the still shot of the SE end of the bridge, @ 35:44. This would have been feet from where the girls were abducted.

I have an interest in old railroad beds and facilities, and it appears the person who took the video does too. As others have noted, finding the trail could be a challenge, and even a lot of locals didn't know it was there until this awful crime happened.

Just a thot on the discussion of LE piecing the photo together from the video...I wonder if they have altered the photo to the point of actually placing BG on the bridge. Maybe that is why they don't release more of the video? If they released actual video, the public would be privy to more specific details of the crime that only the suspect and LE would know, such as how they got from bridge to CS.

...or what if the guy was walking behind the girls and L used her selfie camera to pretend she was filming herself and was trying to catch the guy behind them.
This would also make the image mirrored and slightly crooked because of the angle she would need to hold it to be discreet. So everything would then be the other side...i.e. theories on handedness and such.

Also, I can remember at this age walking around the mall with friends and goofing off we would walk behind people mimicking their stride. This kind of play could have seriously set someone off, maybe. Some teenagers get wrapped up in their world and don't realize others can hear them.

One thing I've been wondering about is the stipulation for RL's probation that he cannot have access to his car. Was it always kept at the property across the street or did he usually keep it elsewhere. If he usually kept his car at a friend or neighbor's house and gave that person his keys and had that person drive him around, would that still be against the terms of his probation? Would he be obligated to get rid of the car entirely? Or is it just a matter of the proximity to his place? I wonder if anyone knows more about this and what such a term of probation usually entails?

I don't what he must have been thinking to drive it on the 14th. The place must have been crawling in that area with LE...yet he could have gone to Delphi with a friend. I shouldn't assume that he drove. I really don't have a clue about probation or the rules. It looks like he will be behind bars for awhile and I hope he becomes sober and doesn't drink again and fall into old habits.

I wonder if a video or still shots was taken of the POI? Did LE post still shots from a video? There is audio. That usually accompanies a video recording. It matters because the POI looks like he walks with a limp. Just a hunch.

A set, as in one set of prints. I'd forgotten that. Thoughts? One set leading away from the bodies or one set going towards them (indicating they were possibly carried)? moo

I also found it strange that they needed an autopsy to identify the bodies since they were missing such a short time.

that is standard in LE before making a statement as to identities.

I have thought that as well, in one image with right raised it's as if he is stepping over something and nothing is there, as if he is on the trail and stepping over a fallen limb. Jmo

Officials are telling us that RL is not a suspect. but I believe that you have made it clear your thoughts on that regardless of what LE keeps repeating until they are blue in the face.

We have two different dates of death for the girls. There have been various possibilities why that may be so. We do not have a coroner's report however. Now it is quite possible that the dates are different because they actually are different. This was discussed many threads ago and some close to the field stated that the mortuary would have gotten those dates from the coroner. If we choose to believe that to be true, then that discussion is valid. moo

they certainly have done nothing to clear him to the public. i think they did quite the opposite by stating they are still waiting on the results from the DNA evidence.

I don't think I have seen anyone here suggest the possibility of BG using Stun or Taser to gain control of the girls? When I first saw the described gun shaped outline in his pocket I thought maybe that's what it was. AFAIK they are both legal in IN, though I guess purchase would leave trails. Thoughts?

You might be right, and he might not had had to use it because the threat is enough. If he used one and LE knows maybe that gives them another way to search for him.

Legal or not BG wouldn't care.
