Need the locals to help me, and apologies if this has been discussed to the point of exhaustion already!
The closest *major* highway; is that H65? If so, what would be the top three cargos being transported through that Highway in Indiana if you had to guess? And what would the drop off destination for those cargos typically be?

Editing to add that I notice there is a truck stop 32 miles from Delphi in Remington; about 40 minutes away on H65. I would have the poster and *REWARD* prominently displayed there.

This brings up a memory when I was a kid. I went on a "spring break trip" with my dad and uncle when i was 12. My uncle was a truck driver and he had a run through our town. He was delivering a load of Hardee's fries. We went from Ohio to New Jersey. Pulled into the truck yard and had to sit in the truck yard for 2 1/2 days. Instead of getting a hotel. We stayed in the truck. But we could have gone anywhere on foot. But if we left in the truck we would lose our spot in line. One of the worst experiences of my life. Anyway. There was a lot of time to kill. Thanks for the question roses. I don't have an answer. But it brought back a memory.

Hardees in Jersey...such fond memories!! Stuck in a truck for 2.5 days is not fun....very claustrophobic!!

Not leaving one's truck was brought up very early by truckers and/or a truckers wife. Thanks for adding your comment now. It was very interesting information back then as many thought it could be a driver. I suppose it still could be, but it was helpful all the same to know one does not leave their rig while being loaded/offloaded.

That was just what we chose to do. But we could have left at any time. 2.5 days with nothing to do. BG could be a driver with an overlay waiting on his truck to be unloaded.

Not trying to get tunnel vision on a trucker theory, but layovers waiting to get loaded or unloaded are very common. However, that's a fairly big chance to take that your truck won't have to move while you're gone. If you aren't in it to move up the line, someone is going to be yelling at a truck owner/dispatcher for holding up their line.

I really think there is l lot to be said for the LE officer who said know what your children are doing. Much like another recent thread on WS everyone thinks the drug connection is not the norm but it appears to be the Route cause of KC being found murdered in a rubbish tip.

What we don't perhaps take into account and realise is that Children grow up so much quicker these days, what we did as kids may not be what kids now. They have far more information, connection and knowledge equally they are perhaps nieve about the bad things that can happen.

Our rationale may not marry up with the children's/ young adults rational. Therefore we should make room to explore all possibilities.

I hope LE do what they need to do and find

  • The person/s responsible
  • Find an answer for the families
  • Solve the case
  • Put those responsible behind bars
  • Find out the reason why two girls were murdered

I think this is me done on this until new news comes along

As I know now, I was in danger sometimes during my teenager years but I had a lot of luck. One danger was to meet an mostly unknown man in his twenties because he was charming and very good looking. As a trainee in a hotel kitchen he came to a park (near a forest) to meet people during his pause and I was one of those people. Thankfully he got fired and suddenly wasn't seen any more at our town before his bad intentions could be executed.
My parents never learned of things I did. In fact I was sort of a well-behaved child and anyway our opportunities as teenagers at these times were much more limited than nowadays. - When I think of myself, then I would assume Abby and Libby perhaps also did sometimes dangerous things, their parents/grandparents didn't know of.

at twelve snd thirteen, my bestie and I were sneaking cigs, sneaking make up, shoplifting at drugstores and make up counters, making prank phone calls..by fourteen we were smoking pot and making out with boys...this was a hundred years ago and we were basically good girls too....going thru the rebellion stage..so would I be surprised if they were trying to score some weed? not even a little.

when I think of BG being prepared , that I feel he knew they would be there..that somehow they thought they were meeting someone in their age group to get some marijuana...it kind of comes together, also not wanting to make this public knowledge as part of the case makes sense too because the public might judge these poor innocent children and not help the LE in solving this case.

Know what your kids are up to.

Thank you!! This is exactly what I was thinking after watching the videos from the musicly (or something like that) app that were posted but couldn't find the words to put the thought together.

For guidance, how does the website deal with crimes where the criminal actually uses these ideas as part of his method? For example, the Zodiac Serial Killer masked his behaviors using the above. At that point, what is the correct method to discuss this within the boundaries of the web site?

I hope the girls parents are not reading any of the speculations on their children. The girls are victims and never showed any sign of wrong doing. Think for a moment if this happened to your child and you read such things.

I think it is likely the suspect, given his apparent status as a middle-aged man, has perpetrated before, yet there no are DNA links to any previous crimes. What's up? How does he get away with it, how is is so confident, and, above all else, with the pictorial and voice evidence, why aren't there more leads? He is one stealthy guy, but even with the hunter becoming the hunted, nothing. It is so frustrating.

Apparently there are lots of rape kits that don't get processed. This link is to a discussion of that on Web Sleuths: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ng-SK-rapist-1990-98&highlight=sherri+scherer

And theres poor April Tinsley. Crime unsolved.
Theres DNA. Maybe Familial DNA can be used to solve this case.

Indiana doesn't allow familial DNA at this time. That being said, I suspect if they had a close match come up, they would definitely use that information to further the case. I wouldn't be surprised if there are loopholes to get around the law either.

Interstate 65 would be the busiest major roadway around and the transport traffic could be coming from so many places. I65 runs south all the way to Mobile, AL and north to Gary, where it runs into I90. I90 goes from Boston, MA to Seattle, WA. Or you could head south on 65 and hit 70 in Indy and go to Pennsylvania and beyond or all the way out to Utah. Indiana's state motto is "Crossroads of America" for a reason.

I would imagine car parts, pharmaceuticals, and maybe industrial equipment would be in the top 5 exports for the state as a whole. I would imagine they go all over the US from here.

I really wish there was more of a push to get rape kits and older evidence from violent crimes tested.

Thx Hoosier, great info.

As grandiose as this may sound, I would pull the records of every truck that weighed at the stop closest to Delphi in the month proceeding. I'd pull the DMV license and see if we could get a close hit on the pic/sketch.

I don't wan't negative comments...but do any of you really believe LE is still working this "case"? I'm sure that they are - but why no new information and progress?
I'm sorry I'm so passionate about these two little girls being murdered - I live so close.

It would take a lot of manpower to do that, but that is the kind of thing that was done in dragnets of the past. The narrowing by color, sex, and age would make things go faster, but I suspect that facial recognition software bulk processing license photos might have already be considered in this.

Once they had a suspect drawing -- I'm sure it was off to the races. However, I expect it also meant they had another stack of potential suspects they have to exclude.
