I'm confused. Didn't MB originally say she left for JR's because she wanted to party ... and then it became he escorted her to JR's? And now she left while he was upstairs, according to VS? So which is it? To top it off, wasn't MB supposed to be the one who wasn't partying?

There is 3 different versions (that I know of):

a) MB helps CR to bed, LS asks him to party to which he declines, then he sees her walk out (sourced originally by CR's lawyer and was the general story through much of the original media coverage)

b) MB helps CR to bed, LS is gone when he comes back downstairs (sourced by Indianapolis Monthly by way of neighbor, VS who talked to MB)

c) MB helps CR to bed, decides to turn responsibility of her over to JR, calls JR, walks LS over to JR's, LS asks him to party to which he declines (sourced by Lohud by way of PI's who interviewed MB)

There is also a version that MB would have given to LE shortly after the disappearance, which may or may not match one of the above.

MB also said that he called JR before she left. LE should have been able to verify the time of that call. I wonder what was said.

POI/ target for speculation...

Same thing to me, I am not saying he is a suspect.

LE stated that there were at least ten POIs of which we only know four or five and ZO isn't even an officially named POI, even though MSM confirmed that he was the person who punched CR.

And sure, I am just speculating that AB was with ZO during the fight, but isn't that what we are here doing?

The difference would be a POI was someone who LE was interested in talking to, whether it be because they had contact with LS that night or because they may have information on her. I don't think there's any big issue with speculating on something, but it's frustrating to see something that starts off as pure speculation turn into perceived reality because it has been repeated so often. Anyone of course could be a POI, just give the source that they were where you claim them to be (whether it be a MSM link or you have to say it is a rumor).

Yes, that appears to be new info. JR's lawyer kept very quiet for the most part. CR's lawyer was the one talking at first.

It perterbs me that we continue to learn just how much information LE has yet not it's enough to retain a suspect or provide any such evidence.

They seem to be nowhere close to zeroing in on a suspect.
And there is no body. No body, no case. I am sure it's very frustrating for her parents.

I hear what you are saying, and I appreciate your input.

I have neither the time, nor interest to sit and split hairs w/ you, frankly :)

For some reason, I believe this is the one he has told to LE/PI's and the others are just missing information/shotty reporting. The police have phone records and i'm sure the PI's have access. If a call did not happen, the police would probably have come down much harder on MB and the reporter would probably mention it in the article.

I don't see lying about a phone call when you are well aware of how easily it could be proven.

Has anyone, (JR or MB specifically) ever stated what LS's plan was to gain entry back into Smallwood when she got back there?
Why would she walk back to Smallwood in the pre-dawn hours barefoot with no phone and no keys and no way to get into her building?

In the 1 yr anniversary article on lohud.com, JR said that she had her Smallwood key card when she arrived at his place.

IMO, she wanted to get home either because she felt uncomfortable to stay at CR's and/or JR's because it didn't feel right for some reason... whether she was creeped out by JR and his house guests, or she was worried what JW might think about it all, esp in light of the report that he was waiting to hear from her all night.

Most likely, though, after such intensity, and her throbbing facial/head wounds...

she prob just wanted to go cuddle in her own bed with her hello kitty dolls...

The mm does not fit AB either.
AB sure does fit. He fits the dark skinned decription, he fits the pointed sideburns description, he fits the weight description, and the polo shirt as well.

The height description is slightly off, I believe, but AB fits the description of the 3:38 witness almost to a 'T'.

Why do you say he doesn't fit, Analytical?

The height is more than "slightly" off, and I believe, just from memory, that the weight may have been as well. I don't know how we can do better than estimate AB's weight, and certainly no one knows what he was wearing. I'm also missing the "pointed" aspect of his sideburns, whose design is also unknown with any precision at least as of that particular night. As for the dark skin, while it matches, so might have any number of other peoples', and I think there's a bit of profiling going on in that regard.

Here is the witness quote from TG.

http://tonygatto.wordpress.com/2011...n-spierer-mystery-encounter-with-unknown-man/

The witness describes the mystery man as dark-skinned, about 5 feet, nine inches, 160 pounds, defined facial bone-structure and pointed, thin, rounded sideburns. She says he was wearing a polo-style shirt.

From mycase.in.gov AB's description is 5'11" and 120 lb. That may be the height and weight on his driver's license before the freshman 15 or more.

Granted it's from his attorney, but I don't recall ever seeing: "Lukemeyer also tells IM that, before retaining counsel, Rosenbaum gave two statements to the police, rode with them in the area where Spierer was last seen, and shared his phone."

That quote was surprising. I must confess to finding it impressive and generous of JR, given his portrayal. (Am also curious if JR did this before or after R. Senior became aware of his son's involvement.)

So was JR the only one who voluntarily talked to BPD?

Over the past year there has been sporadic mention of possible LE involvement. For the most part, I wave off such speculation as sensationalistic or conspiratorial. I've known about this arrest but haven't shared it because I do not like trying to tie in every local drama that hits the news. I am NOT whatsoever saying he is involved. I am however, at a point in this case where I am open to considering possibilities other than the boys.

I'd like to make an observation, which isn't a defense of JR's reaction (or his family's involvement) in this case. But as I've noted, the Rs come from the area of MI where the OCCK case occurred. I believe the family has lived there awhile (and may even have members in the law profession). That case (OCCK) has been an absolute circus over the years, with one suspect (there have been a lot) committing suicide, a victim of a murder becoming a suspect in the public eye, etc.

My point is ... I don't like how the POIs immediately lawyered up (and clammed up). But ... in the Rs' case, they may have been preconditioned, in a sense. I'm not saying that's right ... and even if JR's story is true (which I doubt), he should have walked LS home that night. But I'm not surprised that he lawyered up. JMO.
