I agree. And why call rather than text? My 20 year olds would only call if they had a very long tale to tell or needed me to do something immediately.

Agree. If mine are actually using their voices to speak to me at that hour, I know there's been a minor problem. Also, in this case, JR's cell being used to call (not text) DR is preposterous to me. In my experience, young adults this age, do not often use that voice feature with their peers unless it's fairly urgent or need an alibi.

On the Herald-Times today there was an interesting picture of how Kilroy's relates to Smallwood from a high point of view. There are some other interesting pictures there -- The photo album is located here
http://www.heraldtimesonline.com/pages/spierer_photos

If I could figure out how to post an individual picture up here I can but so far the only thing I can figure out requires a link to a url.

Thanks for that link to Herald-Times article! Some good pictures of the area. Is this one you mentioned? Kilroy's, with Smallwood in the background.

Hope I do this correctly...I'm new. I think one (or more) of the boys knows what happened. I think it was an accidental heart attack brought on by a big night of partying or an assault of some kind. She is a small girl. Put her in a trash bag, load that in a duffle bag, suitcase with wheels, hockey bag, even a mid-sized box, put that in your car and drive out of Bloomington home to Mom and Dad's house. Suddenly you are free to come and go and dispose of her far, far from Bloomington. (Sorry if that is too graphic.)

When did leave boys leave? Were their places searched before they left? Where their cars and bags checked before they went home? Did they fly home or drive?

BTW, if the bf and others were my kid, I'd hire an attorney but camp out with my kid in a Bloomington area hotel for at least a week or so to make sure he was constantly available to LE so they could rule him out. I would not allow him to hide out at home until he had fully cooperated with LE. JMO

:clap::clap::clap:
your post deserved more than a 'thanks'

My question is, WHY haven't they been all over JR like no other? It was reported that he was one that left town later the same day that Lauren went missing. Have they searched his apartment? Has he given anything other than a statement? Why are they sitting down and grilling him? Why don't they go to him? Why aren't they trying to search his car, phone records, etc. I surely hope they are doing all of those things and we are just not hearing about them!!

Isn't it basic principle that you start with the person who was the last to see the victim and rule out everything from there? How could they have possibly ruled him out already? I'm not trying to implicate him, but if he left town, he could have easily put her in a suitcase, duffel bag, trash bag, etc, etc, and taken her with him to get rid of wherever.

JR is the one with the well-known defense attorney. They would have to go through the attorney who is most likely telling him not to give them anything voluntarily. JR is the most suspicious to me. He left town the day after and hired this attorney. (Although being that he was the last to see Lauren, I think even if innocent there is good reason to have the attorney.)

I am not sure that JW and JR are really good friends. The article says they may be friends because they were in the same fraternity. But not everyone in a fraternity is really close with everyone else. It could be a reason to cover up for each other though.

I've been trying to catch up so forgive me if I'm missing something, but I am really confused as to why everyone seems to suspect HT.

I just read the article where she was interviewed about her friendship with Lauren and thought it was really sweet. I truly have no idea how someone could read that and come up with the cruel comments and accusations that I'm reading (primarily in comments there, not here). I can see how people who did not grow up going to summer camps may have misunderstood that last comment, but I don't see anything odd about anything she said or in the fact that she had her photo taken for the article, etc.

My impression is that she is the one person of the friends who has actively come forward to speak about Lauren, and while I'm sure a lot of what she has said has been in response to the media focus on drugs, partying and and various rumors, it doesn't mean her answers aren't sincere. Also, she appears to be the only one with no criminal record, and I haven't seen any indication that she has withheld any information from LE, or that Lauren's parents are talking about her as being one of the "friends" that needs to come forward. The only thing I can tell is that her account of the night may have had a couple of inconsistencies, but since we know that the family was keeping back certain information at the beginning (re. the altercation, for example), we have no idea what she was or was not advised to release to the media, or what she herself pieced together about the night between these statements. If I had to speculate that she was covering up for anything in her early accounts, it seems like she may have been trying to protect Lauren (and/or JW) from the cheating rumors/story by revealing Lauren's involvement with CR that night. (Again, this is to the media - we have no idea what she has told LE or Lauren's parents).

Anyway, if there is other evidence that leads people to believe that was somehow involved, I'm interested in hearing it, but if this is simply based on 'having a feeling' or observations about how she poses in a photo, etc, I'm not sure that warrants making some of the assumptions that have been made. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a friend missing *and* be in the media spotlight under a cloud of suspicion. Under the circumstances, I think it's impressive that she came forward and tried to make us understand Lauren a little better.

(This is the article I'm referring to http://www.lohud.com/article/201106...riends-school-reflect-missing-college-student)

I do not think you place a body in any personal effects, i.e. sports bag...

I think you walk her out, or carry her as if she is alive and you place her where it could be assumed she collapsed. Then you say you watched her leave your apartment. Of course, trouble is her body hasn't been found. That's why you may let POI's search. They have a knack for finding the body.

I would certainly like to know for sure if the following is infact true..

It was stated by a local that the corner that Lauren was supposedly last seen rounding is NOT EVEN VISIBLE FROM WHERE JR WAS..

Can we get clarification from the local who stated this and might it be possible to see this view detailed in photos..

IMO everything could hinge on this if infactbitbis true that Lauren would not have even been visible rounding the corner..

Huge IMO!!

Of course, in the case of JW maybe we need to ask "What would Dexter do?" because if LS wasn't "busy livin', she was busy dyin'" -- What is with his FB?

Very interesting that the truck was ruled out. I agree this puts a lot of pressure back onto JW/JR. I have always thought it is quite a coincidence that the same night LS ends up missing is the night she brings a boy, not her boyfriend, back to her apt. I find it hard to imagine JW was not made aware that his frat bros saw LS and CR together a few feet from her apt door, punched CR, and watched LS and CR leave together.

Seems like JW would know they were going back to CR apt and there are so many things that could have happened from there. I can't make heads or tails of the call to DR. Would they really have wanted to involve more people? Is DR in the frat too, I thought he was more a friend of LS who also knew the guys?

I think that is what it is. Lauren's desire to find out where her cell phone was.

Oh my!!! Did he post that on his FB?

To be fair to JW, 24 of my friends also share his interest in Dexter... according to facebook.

But yeah, Terri Horman is also a Dexter fan.

I've been the pro-stranger theory from day 1, but after they ruled the truck out, I am back on the fence.

Out of Lauren's friends, the boyfriend is the only one with a motive and hence, the only one I suspect. I don't suspect an accidental death/OD.

I am thinking Sasha said that.

Here is a pic I took from approx JR's apt looking East along 11th Street, toward College Ave.

Jesse's favorite quote: "get busy livin' or get busy dyin'"

Nothing about Lauren though... Is this from Dexter? I do not watch that show.

Dexter doesn't kill innocent young girls, he goes after criminals. He's a vigilante. But he would dispose of a body in the water.

I do think he should change his favorite quote from "get busy livin' or get busy dyin'" to anything else.

I did not originally post this, but unless JR was standing out on the sidewalk, he could not have seen the SW corner of 11th and College. There is an incline of 11th St. towards that intersection, plus there is a large tree and shrubbery/random foliage obscuring the view of the sidewalk from the building where JR et al. live. The windows of these apartments face north towards 11th St., not east towards College. He could not have seen that corner from his apartment window.
