Since Shaylyn's bed was in the living room, I wonder if she was given too much of something to help her sleep so that the people there could drink and watch tv without waking her?

There's a picture and she comments under it about how she has a way of getting people/animals to sleep and comments about getting her "step-daughter to sleep after her normal tantrum." Points to the fact that the baby may not easily have gone to sleep and fits with the theory of Jackeee that maybe something was given. Or maybe that, how do I say this...her normal bedtime tantrum is what aggravated someone enough to 'somehow' win the battle of getting her to sleep with a party/nonparty going on around her.

I don't think race or money or whatever has anything to do with it. Yes, people from all walks of life have killed or neglected children. But I think we see far more cases of selfish and lazy people who end up with dead children either by their hand or by negligence. People with and without money can be selfish and lazy. Is that what these people are? I can't say for sure based on a few video snippets (plus we don't know COD yet)...but, I can make some assumptions, that's for sure.

Do we know when COD will be released??

I think preliminary reports are usually done within a day or two. Toxicology can take much longer. So it will really depend on what those preliminary reports show, I think.

I really wish there was more news about this kinda stuff iam in canada and all i ever had really was nancy and jane now jane is gone and nancy wants to cover the same **** night after night that no one cares about anymore ...right now theres a 2 year old boy in winnipeg this is the 3rd night out in the cold and no one knows about it we need more news coverages like we use to have everything has changed even 48 hours 20 20 all that stuff whats happening jesus ...

Yes I miss Jane and CourtTV. Nancy's show has gone downhill w rest of HLN. Nancy did feature this story Thurs night but only briefly, as show flits between subjects nowadays...

the paternal grandmother seems to indicate that while Shaylyn was situation in the living room, the adults of the household were in bedrooms, watching television



She recalls Tuesday being just another normal day, with the majority of the family going out to eat with a friend for lunch.


“We went home and put Shaylyn to bed for a nap around two or three (in the afternoon), and had a normal rest of the day. Shaylyn was playing around on the floor, as normal as she could be. A friend of my son came by, Kyle (Parker), and they had a little drink in his bedroom. No loud music or anything, they watched some movie with my husband,” Morgan said.


Morgan said Parker was a friend of her son, Adam, but did not elaborate on his relationship with the family.


“They weren’t all over the house, they were just in the bedroom. I was putting Shaylyn to sleep at that time; I put her in her crib around 8:00 or 8:30 and she finally went to sleep around 10:00 or 10:30. I stayed up and watched a little more T.V. I just made sure she was sleeping and I went to lay down, probably around 11:00,” Morgan said. “My husband woke me up coming to bed, messing with the TV, around midnight. So I went out to the living room to mess with the TV and checked on Shaylyn... she was there, sound asleep in her baby bed. We checked on her one more time before going to bed, around 2:00, and she was still asleep.”


Between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Thursday, Morgan said someone took Shaylyn from her crib with just her Winnie the Pooh blanket, and vanished.


Morgan said there were no signs of forced entry to the home and nothing was disturbed in the living room, where Shaylyn slept, with the exception of the toddler occupying her crib. Nothing else was taken from the home, including other necessities for Shaylyn, such as a cup, shoes, a coat, a diaper bag, diapers or baby wipes. Valuables such as a new laptop computer and cell phone were untouched.

What's that about Kelly getting to spend time at the cemetery and running into her guy's family there. Is there a bar called the cemetery or does she mean the actual cemetery?

baby girl was murdered. There you have it. I don't see this being able to be explained away as an accident followed by coverup. It sounds as if Kyle Parker is not talking, or at least he wasn't. Makes me really curious about how LE came to locate little Shaylyn's body and how they know it was placed there by Parker. If he isn't talking, who is? They did not find that out of the way private land by accident. A tipster it sounds like to me.

LE seems to be right on top of this case from the get go. I am pretty confident that they will get to the bottom of what, how, who and why very quickly.

Bang. Nail on head. I got an Avery-Dassey vibe from them and I never can put that into words. It's not poor or dirty, but...something. I tsk tsk myself for the words that come to mind, and try hard not to judge, but then again they let an innocent child be murdered or die and may have had the body hidden. At this point we don't know the extent of family involvement but at the very least they were negligent in caring for the welfare of this child.

It is the culture of poverty. I see it here in East Tennessee frequently. These are the families where you are not encouraged to be the first HS or college graduate. These are families that want everyone to stay on the same level as they are on. I have seen teens here actively discouraged or kept away from activities, classes, working: all the things that might help them get out of this spirit-killing cycle. It is sick.

If you scroll though the pictures, you will come across one of Shaylyn standing next to grandma with grandma and dad sitting in chairs. You can see the baby bed sitting right next to dads chair.

I don't know. Her page is very interesting in several spots. Finding it the minute she was named by the grandma helped me form my first (and prevailing theory.)

He knew before the media was alerted. It would be very unprofessional and way out of character for LE not to inform the family prior to giving the info the public. I don't know if he wasn't listening, or if he was just so distraught that he didn't internalize the information (saying with the utmost amount of sarcasm possible) or what, but LE told them before the media!!

Maybe he forgot.
