Several members here have alluded to Justin Ammerman, Shaylyn's father being a convicted sex offender. Yet no one has posted a link (that I'm aware of?) to document that. If someone has a link to that, I think it would be helpful. I have looked here http://www.sheriffalerts.com/cap_main.php?office=54862 as well as here https://public.courts.in.gov/mycase#/vw/Search and was unable to locate him in the database for any kind of sexual assault (unless I overlooked something?).
RSBM- https://www.judici.com/courts/cases...J&ocl=IL017015J,2009CF84,IL017015JL2009CF84D1 That's one of his arrests which I believe is the one they are referencing, but it appears the case was dismissed. It coincides with a mugshot http://www.originalcompany.com/pages/13032842.php?imageGalleryXRefId=2834380 referencing sexual assault. I do not know how accurate that website is. I'll be back to add another website in just a second. I thought I bookmarked it last night.

Justin Michael Ammerman, disorderly conduct, $500 fine, $164 court cost, $250 public defender fee, 180 day sentence, fine and all but 35 days suspended. Filed in Open Court September 8

So you have no way of knowing how many she actually knows, right?

FB is weird that way. But I can assure you, if I lived in a town with 2,317 people (Spencer, census 2013), and had always lived there, and my life was there, I'd likely know MANY people in that town. As in, not just know them from FB, but know exactly who they are. Last name included.

I can't even imagine having to explain to her two young brothers that she's gone. They're in my thoughts and prayers.

Explaining to little kids that someone very close to them has died, is the most brutal and unbelievably painful experience. You don't know how they're going to react but you want them to understand the truth. I had to do it once, and had to have several people there with me to help me break it to them. I don't wish that kind of heartbreaking turmoil on anyone. :(

I was 7 years old when my father died. I still remember being told.

Fox59 news, the most recent, covering the candlelight vigil said Kyle Parker is NOT who murdered the child. So it is someone else who was there that night.

High probability. Grew up in a town of 2591 as of the 2013 census a little over an hour away from Spencer. It's pretty much impossible not to at least be familiar with a family and most if not all of it's members who live in the area. Between school, jobs, family friends, you interact with the same people over and over again your entire life.

This doesn't surprise me at ALL! Thank you for the update.

If he acted alone, I'm wondering if maybe he woke Shaylyn up and in attempting to get her to go back to sleep/stop crying/etc - and with him having been drinking - he accidentally smothered her or even purposely covered her mouth and nose. Not in an attempt to harm her, but to try to get her to be quiet. (imo)

That's probably what we will hear from a defense attorney whenever this goes to trial, whether it be Kyle or anyone else in that house.

As for everything else in this case, I've been sitting on my hands ....I have no words!

Thank God nighties aren't allowed in court.

Ok so they said there were 7-10 POI's they were interested in talking to?

Let's make a list of people we know to be in that house that night (besides Shaylyn):

1- Kyle Parker - arrested
2- Justin Ammerman
3- Adam Ammerman
4- Tamera Morgan
5- Daniel Morgan
6- Kelly Rogers

7-10?! Who are we missing?!

Thanks for those links. The first looks like it was 2012 Crawford county while the second was 2009 Owen county. Clearly, daddy is no stranger to the law.

Kelly's boyfriend?

Kelly and Justin had recently split up. Why? How did they feel about one another? Could she have been angry enough to retaliate? Did she and Kyle ever date? Did people get their newspapers that morning?

Christina Patton, Parker's mother, leaves a message:

"News of Shaylyn's loss has left us completely heartbroken. We wish to extend our most sincere condolences to Shaylyn's family. Our hearts are heavy and filled with grief over this beautiful little girl's passing. It is a difficult time for all families involved. We ask for continued thoughts and prayer as police agencies continue their investigative process into this tragedy."

"Parker preliminarily faces charges of obstruction of justice, failure to report a dead body, and unlawful disposal of a dead body.

Police allege Parker had something to do with dumping the 1-year-old’s body near the White River but may not have been directly responsible for her killing.

“Right now, there isn’t any probable cause to charge anybody with murder. That’s still under investigation. We need to find out who is responsible for the murder of Shaylyn,” said Sgt. Curt Durnil, with Indiana State Police, “Detectives are still interviewing witnesses, people of interest, and some for a second time.”

"A medical examiner ruled Friday that Shaylyn’s cause of death was asphyxiation. Investigators said a murder weapon has not been found."

"Police said charging documents could be available for Kyle Parker on Monday."

Murder weapon?

It says the name of Parker's mother and I think people may be thinking it is a different person.

That doesn't surprise me. Folks have taken to assigning mom, dad, sister, brother, cousin etc., to people who aren't actually related to them at all. I see it constantly (even with one of my own kids, who has listed "sisters" I didn't even know existed).

That said, it doesn't really change how inter-connected these folks in this VERY small town, really are. i.e., "the Parker family? Oh sure, we know (name) and he's married to (name) and their kids are (name, name and name)". I grew up in a town like this, I lived in a town like this for 12 years as adult. It's just the way it goes.
