Agreed. Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children, but if his preference was 12-14 year olds, that's hebephilia. And I think the majority of those attracted to children are pretty specific about what age ranges they are attracted to. I think he's more interested in the power over his victims, possibly an extreme sadist, but there's a lot of things he could be and monster is definitely one of them.

Yep, it's a helluva lot easier to control a 14-month-old than even a 12-year-old. Frickin' cowardly, opportunistic monster.

Thank you! It sounds like law enforcement is doing a great job on this case! I can't complain that they didn't take the crib (if that's even true). I have confidence in them!

Me too. And IMO the crib itself did not yield much evidence. Given this was in the house anyway. I'm sure their charges are based on good ole DNA. I don't think anything occurred in the house that night other than those who did not care enough to protect this poor little one.

My heart goes out to this Dr. who had to perform this autopsy. Thank Gawd somebody can do this kind of work and get Justice.

I know, right? You have to be a pretty strong person to choose a career like that. It would be a tough one, that's for sure.

I don't LE needs the crib. I'm not sure what it could tell them different from what they already know. The house was treated as a crime scene early on and then released back to the family. I'm sure if LE wanted the crib, they would have taken it. KP was a visitor in the home, it wouldn't really be evidence if his DNA was found there. Besides, he confessed to the crime.

I'm not sure I give much credibility to AA statement that he saw a foot dangling. When he spoke about KP leaving the home before he never mentioned a dangling foot. It was only after everything came out. IMO it's just attention seeking. I mean really, if that had been true why wouldn't he have said so the first time.

I'm going to have to trust that in a case such as this that the police would have removed the crib if they felt it necessary to build their case.

Maybe that is giving them too much credit, but I'm willing to at this point.

I stopped posting after Shaylyn was found, mainly because it was starting to look like Kyle acted alone and well, I had nothing nice to say about the family even if that was the case. IMO it makes more sense that this was yet another "family friend murders child" incident than some sort of family conspiracy. I was waiting for the formal charges to be announced. Ugh, maybe not too surprising but so ugly nevertheless. :(

Having said that, after reading the following I don't think I can muster up the expected sympathy for the family - or at least some of the family members:

Adam Ammerman told police that he saw Kyle Parker leaving the house between 3:00 and 4:00 am. Adam saw that Parker was carrying something. Adam told investigators he yelled to say good-bye to Parker, but Parker would not turn around. Adam said he thought he saw a foot dangling from Parker's side but wasn't sure. He went back to bed at that point.

Adam Ammerman also told police that his mother walked into the house one day and found Kyle Parker sitting in a rocking chair drunk, holding Shaylyn in his lap. He told police Kyle liked to watch pornographic movies which featured people being spanked. Police interviewed some of Kyle Parker's other friends, who said he liked pornographic videos with sadistic and masochistic themes, and that Kyle Parker was attracted to younger girls 12 to 14 years old, something Parker denied when he was being questioned by police later.

RIP little Shaylyn. :rose:

!@#$%^&!!

WHY was this person allowed around your NIECE!?!

OMG I need to take a walk.

Off I go. We are going to Friends for dinner tonight. Hug your loved ones. I am truly counting all the blessings I have and have had in my life. I just wish all the ones we read of were as blessed.

im sick over here... that is why she was sent to KY :(

If the sequence of events is as I understand it to be based off of today's articles outlining the horrific details, LE knew before reaching her little body what allegedly took place.

The doctor who performed the autopsy in Kentucky was selected because of her very specific expertise in such awful cases. I am so thankful for KP's stepfather taking him to police station, encouraging him to come clean with him about what was going on and the sharing that info with LE. That could not have been easy. I have him and those who actually located baby girl and saw things they can't unsee in my thoughts.

I would expect to PLACE Kyle at that crib...fingerprints, hair, skin cells, blood...anything at all...and the family destroyed the crib?? That is just unacceptable to me. If the last place anyone sees a baby is a crib..that crib is EVIDENCE. NOT just bedclothes, the whole crib. Now, with it destroyed, you can't place KYLE at the crib..nor anyone else for that matter. What if NOTHING physical/forensic was on that crib of Kyle's? What if somebody handed the baby to him? That changes everything..absolutely everything but now we will never know.

LE should have taken the crib. Through their negligence, it was destroyed.

I completely disagree. None of us were there, I don't think anyone has the right to say they were negligent!

Also, we don't know for sure the crib was destroyed. Consider the source.

IIRC, in one of the articles it said that LE processed the entire home before releasing it back to the family over the weekend.
The family didn't dispose of the crib and Shaylyn's belongings until after LE processed everything. I'm sure LE was very through and got any evidence that they wanted/needed first from the house before they released it back to the family.

This is what I've been wondering. I hope they are investigating other children he's been around.

sadly, i think there are indeed other victims. predators like this , evolve over time and this time he killed ( i hope there isnt any more deaths from this ) :stormingmad:

Yes. I know. I'm not sure why you quoted me. I'm only questioning the veracity of the family's claims.

I'm sorry. I meant to make a new post. I quoted yours by mistake.

The family is being put down for destroying the crib - evidence as someone called it. I was simply stating that the family destroyed the crib because LE did not take it as evidence. But, true...we don't know what's true.
