Loehrlein says he was so whacked out he thought he would go to heaven and be done. He says he and Sherry had a good relation...never a hint of a fight or unfaithfulness. @14News

Loehrlein says he never saw anyone for his stress or lack of sleep. He says he should have. @14News

Loehrlein tells deputies he remembers Cynthia telling him she loved him when he was stabbing her in the neighbors’ porch. He says when we went back to his house he stabbed himself and walked around. He says he thought both daughters and Sherry were dead at that point. @14News

He says he tried to kill his family and himself to solve all his financial problems. Deputies ask “If that was your plan why didn’t you call Cassandra (oldest daughter) over?” @14News

Loehrlein is crying to deputies. He says he couldn’t take it anymore. All he thought was that he would go to Heaven. Deputies are talking with him about faith. They say they’re not judging him and know he’s remorseful. @14New

Deputies ask “you didn’t think you could recover from your financial situation?” Loehrlein says the house had radon and a wall fell down (2 days prior). He said the new house was all he talked about or thought about. @14News

Loehrlein says a month prior he googled how to burn down a house. @14News

This reminds me of something that happened next door to our family many, many years ago. My best friend (girl of about 8 yrs) was 1 of 4 children (the oldest, a boy, around 15-16). They reminded me of the Cleaver family in a way. Nice job, stay at home mom, nice home, etc.

One bright summer day we were sitting in our side yard (their home was right next door (kitchen window facing our yard). All of a sudden, we heard gun blasts. Our neighbor, the father, had shot another neighbor who was walking down the sidewalk. His teenage son got the gun away from him. The police were called. The neighbor who was wounded, survived. But, it was so out of the ordinary (seemingly).

I could recall being in their home and seeing their dad in one of the bedrooms (darkened) just peering between the venetian blinds to the outside. There were some other unusual things he did (found out later). Such as, he accused his wife of trying to poison him.

This man was later diagnosed with Schizophrenia. He spent the next part of his life in a mental institution. They let him out years and years later, and he went to live with his elderly Mother. He eventually committed suicide.

I just wonder if there were small hints that this man could have been suffering from schizophrenia?

Deputies tell Loehrlein he could have died that day, but maybe he didn’t because there’s something else, that God had a bigger plan. He says “I hope so.” @14News

Hermann is questioning Elrod again following the video interview. Elrod says the wall that fell was a neighbor’s retaining wall. That neighbor is on the list of witnesses the State could call. @14News

Elrod says Loehrlein told deputies Sherry appeared to have moved 5-7 feet from where she was shot to the kitchen. Elrod says it’s possible for a victim to move following being shot. @14News

The tweets are coming in slowly....

Elrod is showing the jury the revolver found on the kitchen counter at the Loehrlein home. @14News

Elrod is showing the jury the knife that was found in the hallway. He says he believes it’s the knife Loehrlein was armed with when the deputies came through the door. @14News

Elrod is showing the jury the knife that was recovered from the master bedroom. @14News

Elrod says deputies also found a semi automatic hand gun in the bedroom and a shotgun. He doesn’t believe either of those weapons were used. Hermann has finished. Canada is questioning Elrod now. @14News

Well it's been over an hour and no tweets, so going to assume they went to lunch.... but you would think they'd be back by now.

Hauschild says Loehrlein was never stressed about getting money back quickly. @14News

The defense calls Clay Loehrlein, Clint’s brother. Clay works at Key Construction, the family business for with Clint was an accountant. @14News

Clay says looking back, he remembers Clint making a few or of character mistakes at work, but nothing that lost the business a lot of money. He says 2 purchase orders in early January showed an error that was unusual for Clint to miss. @14News

Clay says Clint sent an unsigned check for $20K in December. He says 3 days before the incident, Clint sent the wrong check worth $5K. In January, Clint tried to mail 20 checks without postage. Clay says these are all unusual mistakes for Clint. @14News

Clay says he spent the entire 2 weeks with Cynthia at the hospital in Louisville. @14News

The day after the event, Clay told Elrod that he believed Sherry & Clint may have had marital problems. He apologized for that, saying he was trying to make sense of the situation and let his past disagreements with Sherry come in to play. @14News

Clay told Elrod “My brother is a monster for doing this.” Today he says he has changed his mind. @14News

Canada is finished questioning Clay. The State is up. Clay says the last time he saw Clint, he seemed agitated and said he had a headache. Clay recalls telling Clint “It’s nothing a little wine won’t fix.” @14News

Clay says Clint didn’t tell him when he bought the new house. @14News

3m3 minutes ago

Clay is finished. The defense calls Mike Loehrlein. @14News

Mike also works at Key Construction. He is Clint’s cousin.

Mike talked to Elrod 2 days after the event. He said Clint was normal and he never saw a mean streak in Clint. The defense and State are finished with Mike.

The defense calls Ken Haynie. Haynie was the real estate agent for the Loehrlein’s new house. @14News

Kate O'Rourke
‏ @Kate14News
2m2 minutes ago

Haynie says the Loehrlein’s payed $490K for the house. He says both Sherry & Clint seemed excited about the house, probably Sherry more so than Clint.

At a Christmas party, Sherry told Haynie that they wanted to list the new house again. She said it was because she was diagnosed with vertigo. Haynie agreed to list the house. Paperwork was signed in the middle of January. @14News

The defense calls Chris Kirby. He lived next to the Loehrlein’s new house.

Kirby says when his retaining wall crumbled, some of the mess went into the back yard of the Loehrlein’s new house. He says he talked to Clint after. The last time they talked was 3 days prior to the event. He says Clint was different, talking fast, and slurring his words.
