That is surprising . In England, after a murder ,it can sometimes take months for a victim to be released for a funeral.

Funerals happen very fast in Ireland, usually within around 3 days. With a murder autopsy will usually be carried out within 24 hours ( as happened here) so there is no need for them not to realease the body.

There are two men. The first one was arrested and then released.

He’s in hospital in Dublin, which isn’t the nearest to Tullamore. Allegedly, he got a taxi to Dublin and presented at a hospital there. He couldn’t explain his injuries, but the Gardaí cannot interview him until he is discharged. They have just removed a recycling bin from the area, to look for possible clues.

The taxi to Dublin would explain why Gardai are specifically looking to speak to a person who might have given the suspect a lift. But if I understand correctly, he didn't go directly to the hospital from Tullamore? He used a knife to inflict further injuries on himself once in Dublin and presented at the St. James' Hospital accompanied by a family member?

Terribly sad case...

A taxi to Dublin must have cost a fortune!
It is over 100 km, no?

Absolutely.. it would cost a fortune- unless he knew a driver in Dublin? I don’t know the details- but the Gardaí were checking houses in both Tullamore and Dublin.
It’s just been a horrible week for her poor family- all hearts are broken for them.
