This is a bit of a concern - freelance journalists on-site during the massacre of 1400 people selling photos to media such as CNN?

"Israel on Thursday demanded that international media outlets explain the circumstances under which photographers in their pay were present at the scene of the surprise October 7 assault by the Hamas terror group on southern Israel, and warned they could be held complicit in the crimes.

The move came after the pro-Israel watchdog group Honest Reporting published a report Wednesday showing that photographers used by The Associated Press, Reuters, The New York Times, and CNN provided images taken as the attack was ongoing from the border area and including from inside Israel — intimating they may have had advance knowledge of the assault."

Todays' Hamas War Crimes:

- Under the guise of a "Protected Medical Person" ... failing to render care to wounded and aiding & abetting fighting forces instead (he hands the weapon off to another fighter):

Earlier today, a paramedic in Jenin, West Bank takes the rifle from an injured gunman instead of aiding him.

Deliberately targetting a school that is still in session with children (and I guarantee that Israel did not place any "legitimate miltary target" in/around/under or on top of it):

Footage from the City of Eilat in which you can clearly hear some kind of Turboprop Drone right before the Explosion; the Drone is reported to have Struck a School within the City however thankfully there are No Casualties.

Placement of a drone factory (legitimate military target) in a residential housing unit:

And, not a war crime:

The @cnn reporter, Hassan Eslaiah, took an active part in #October7massacre. Here he's holding a grande in one hand and a camera in the other.

CNN has now fired reporter, Hassan Eslaiah who is seen here snuggling up to the Hamas leader. This reporter was also reportedly seen with a grenade in hand on the back of a motorcycle headed into Israel with Hamas on October 7.

The @CNN reporter who was with the Hamas savages on 10/7, is marking his car with Press writing, “Just in case IDF will come after him” like this is going to help him…

"Israel demands answers from CNN, Associated Press and Reuters over claims freelance photographers 'embedded' with Hamas to cover October 7th attack:

'These journalists were accomplices in crimes against humanity'.

In response to the criticism,
a CNN spokesperson told:

'We had no prior knowledge of the October 7th attacks'.

'Hassan Eslaiah, who was a freelance journalist working for us and many other outlets, was not working for the network on October 7th'

'As of today, we have severed all ties with him.'

In a previous statement, the network said it had not found 'reason to doubt the journalistic accuracy' of his work.

The New York Times issued a full-throated denial of the allegations.

It had hired photographer Yousef Masoud, whose photographs portray the violence in Gaza.

'The accusation that anyone at The New York Times had advance knowledge of the Hamas attacks or accompanied Hamas terrorists during the attacks is untrue and outrageous.
It is reckless to make such allegations, putting our journalists on the ground in Israel and Gaza at risk.
The Times has extensively covered the Oct. 7 attacks and the war with fairness, impartiality, and an abiding understanding of the complexities of the conflict'.

'Though Yousef was not working for The Times on the day of the attack, he has since done important work for us.
There is no evidence for Honest Reporting’s insinuations.
Our review of his work shows that he was doing what photojournalists always do during major news events, documenting the tragedy as it unfolded,'
the newspaper said.

The Associated Press, in its statement, denied having any prior knowledge of the attack and insisted the first photos it received were taken after it began.

'The first pictures AP received from any freelancer show they were taken more than an hour after the attacks began'.

'No AP staff were at the border at the time of the attacks, nor did any AP staffer cross the border at any time'.

'We are no longer working with Hassan Eslaiah, who had been an occasional freelancer for AP and other international news organizations in Gaza'.

'AP uses images taken by freelancers around the world. When we accept freelance photos, we take great steps to verify the authenticity of the images and that they show what is purported'.

'The role of the AP is to gather information on breaking news events around the world, wherever they happen, even when those events are horrific and cause mass casualties'."

That makes sense. However the aid is distributed, the entire process will need to be heavily guarded, imo.

That's a rather lame response. Their journalists were on the ground in Israel during the massacre an hour after it started, and hours before it ended. How could those freelancers have known where the border to Israel was breached without inside information from Hamas?

If they had eye witness information through Hamas that there was a planned massacre, why did they not immediately share the information with The Associated Press, Reuters, The New York Times, and CNN to warn Israeli community farmers of the impending mass murder?

Definitely suspicious, and deserving of an explanation, imo.

It’s outrageous.
Imagine if journalists were embedded at mass shootings.
But, again….no outrage.
These “journalists” are who the press have been getting their news from?
They watched women get gang raped in front of their children. They took photos.
Explains a Lot. IMO.

Is this guy working both sides of the street, or what??

Author Douglas Murray has blasted Gazans who cheered on as an Israeli-German girl was paraded around semi-naked by Hamas terrorists.A distressing video emerged of Shani Louk, who is now confirmed dead, dragged onto the back of a truck after being kidnapped from the terrorist attack on October 7. “Why was it you could find … a crowd of ordinary Gazans, it wasn’t a Hamas rally, ordinary Gazans spitting on her body, hitting her body, mutilating her body further as it went down the street?” he said. “Does that strike you, Piers, as a placid population of peacenik types who are desperately waiting for a two-state solution to be put back on the table for the millionth time in the last 70-something years?”

Shameful. I hope we get a public statement by these media outlets. It's not enough to have fired these reporters, we need to know how it happened that they published these photos and how they vetted them.

Edited to add: I see that each of these news outlets has put out a statement denying they knew about the attack in advance. They need to say more about how they vet their reporters and photographers. The victims deserve more, Israel deserves more, and we, the American public, deserve more.

We did get a public statement.

Gallant: IDF using new methods to deal with tunnels, preventing Hamas abusing humanitarian corridor

He notes the challenge of dealing safely with the issue of the need to enter the tunnels or destroy them while not harming hostages who may be there, saying the military is developing new methods and working on solutions, adding that this “will improve in the coming days.”

One reporter notes that IDF soldiers were seen calling out in Hebrew to people evacuating northern Gaza via the humanitarian corridor today, apparently out of concern that hostages were being moved by their Hamas captors.

Gallant says the IDF is employing unspecified methods to ensure Hamas fighters and Israeli hostages aren’t among the tens of thousands of people evacuating. “We take everything into account. First, we want all the Palestinian [noncombatants] to leave Gaza City. That is important so that we have freedom of action [against Hamas]. We don’t want to harm them. Those who don’t head south are placing themselves in danger.
We have methods… to ensure that those who leave are those who are supposed to leave, and that we get our hands on all the rest.”

@LiorHaiat

Today together with @Nitzan_Chen the Head of @GPOIsrael, I sent a letter to
@FPAIsPal following @HonestReporting’s publication regarding the participation of freelance photographers during the October 7 massacre.“Participating in war crimes and crimes against humanity constitutes a breach of every ethical and professional standard of journalism, and must be met with a swift and clear condemnation”.See the full letter below.
