To keep the Israelis from launching a ground attack into Gaza. JMO.
All the U.S. is requesting is a delay to facilitate the release of U.S. hostages and to prepare for an escalation by Iran on U.S. installations.

JMO

The administration is not making a demand of Israel and still supports the ground invasion and Israel’s goal of eradicating Hamas, the group controlling Gaza that killed about 1,400 people in terrorist attacks on Oct. 7, the officials said.

If they had respect for her age, they would not have kidnapped her in the first place, don’t you think?

Besides which they’ve already slaughtered elderly people.

IMO and also facts.
This is what chaps my rear... They are on video committing the worst of the worst against children, pregnant woman, elderly, soldiers, etc. No mercy just savage brutal unspeakable crimes against everyone.. young and old alike. Then they "play nice" as they release these two woman. HOGWASH If they cared at all, they'd release every single one of them.

IMO THEY didn’t play nice. She is the nice one. Also, these hostages were taken the day of the massacre. They probably don’t know of the atrocities.

I do believe the people she was thanking were the Red Cross workers, not the terrorists who kidnapped her.

JMO

The hostages were turned over to the International Committee of the Red Cross and were on their way home, the ICRC said in a statement. The women had been seized along with their husbands, who weren’t released, according to the Associated Press.

How long of a delay? However long it takes?

NY Times is behind a paywall for me. Not sure if the article gives any kind of possible timeline.

It's weird, she shakes his hand. In the US kidnappers almost always kill their victims. And they if they ever release them, it's usually in front of a gas station.
Is she Yocheved Lifshitz

Cooper, 79, was taken with her husband, 85-year-old Amiram Cooper, Israeli officials said. Lifshitz, 85, was also abducted along with her husband, 83-year-old Oded Lifshitz. The women's husbands were not released.

Yocheved and Oded Lifshitz were peace activists and regularly transported patients from Gaza to hospitals across Israel for medical treatments, according to the Times of Israel.

Thanks! I didn't see that screen shot. For all we know, they may have been told to act grateful.

JMO
It's also possible Hamas "escorts" who handed them off were trying to appear respectful and solicitous for the "optics".
TBH, I think there may be an operative or two, who deep down are having second thoughts about what they're doing, but are afraid to defect. Just a thought...

Reports of Israeli forces operating inside Gaza at the moment, just west of the border fence. This **doesn't** mean a ground op has started. An Israeli soldier was injured, may be they entered to recover them.

And ... FINALLY some of Hamas' channels on telegrm are no longer available!! Took long enough.

Telegram has blocked access to some of Hamas' channels via their Google Play Store app.

I hope that Hamas terrorists will take their fuel, that they use to shoot missiles and run vehicles, and transfer that fuel supply to the hospital. They do not want 150 premature babies to die! They cannot blame Israel if they have fuel for missiles but not babies.

At 0.06 seconds, it looks like the lights are on in another part of the building - in the background.

"Total Power Loss has occurred at Indonesia Hospital within the City of Beit Lahia in Northern Gaza following reports that they are now Out of Fuel for their Emergency Generators."

Oh I see them giving them drinks and holding on it appears helping them walk.. it just feels like a show. I'd like to hear how they were treated all of those days they were held. The women have no idea and my post meant nothing at all against those ladies, just the evil captors. They know what happened to everyone.. they know what was done and if they didn't do any of it themselves, then they still know and support their group in all the actions committed. Just evil.

Absolutely! I think there are likely some that now regret being part of any of it, or who were not informed of what was going to happen and just did as they were told. Those people need to surrender.. this exchange would have been the perfect time to slip a note or to even drop the guns and say I wish to surrender.

Sure took them a long time to realize that people around the world were tuning into Telegram. I guess they had to see the murder footage presented to journalists to realize where it came from.

I'm still trying to understand the Hamas terrorist who proudly sent photos of 10 people he murdered to his mother and father. He seemed most excited about talking to his mother. His parents seem pleased. This tells us so much about the Gaza Hamas society. This isn't one generation of murders, this is already two, and today's Hamas terrorists will produce a third generation of terrorists who feels pride after committing barbaric, brutal murder of civilians.

Did I hear that half of Gaza citizens are under age 20? That's a lot of babies being born, doubling the population in 20 years (link). That is a lot of people who are indoctrinated through antisemitic education.

Shaking the captor's hand, she also said "Shalom". The Israelis are savvy and quick witted, especially this lady if she is the one who is a peace activist with her husband and often travelled within Gaza. Her husband is still a captive, and no doubt both these ladies fear for their husbands' fate. It might behoove her to appear "gracious" to the captor.

Remember the lady who spent some 10 hours feeding and chatting with those terrorists in her home, and survived?
