I wasn’t expecting the elderly to be kept alive.

They were both wearing (slightly different) purple gowns.

So, did Hamas go shopping before (or during) all this, bought clothes for the hostages, (black) pajamas (with red hearts, iirc), (purple) gowns…

Hamas releases video showing release of hostages

The military wing of Hamas have released a video showing the release of Israeli hostages Yocheved Lifshitz and Nurit Yitzhak, who also goes by the name Nurit Cooper.

The video shows masked men escorting the two women as they are met by representatives of the Red Cross. At one point, Lifshitz – who is 85 – turns to shake the hand of one of the Hamas fighters.

The Palestinian militants said they released both women on health grounds, after taking them and more than 200 others hostage during the 7 October rampage in Israel in which the militants killed 1,400 people.

Lifshitz and her 83-year-old husband, Oded, were kidnapped from their home at the Nir Oz kibbutz, close to the border with Gaza in southern Israel, the Israeli prime minister’s office said late on Monday. Oded remains captive, it added.

Lifshitz is a peace activist who together with her husband helped sick Palestinians in Gaza get to hospital for years, her grandson told Reuters.

Speaking to WION’s diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Levy [Israeli government spokesperson] said, "We are going to destroy Hamas, we are going to enter the Gaza Strip and totally demolish the entirety of its military terrorist and governing structure inside the Gaza Strip."

[...]

WION: While Israel has been acting against Hamas, there has been a humanitarian challenge in Gaza. You have asked the people to move towards the south. So, what do you have to say about the humanitarian and the collateral loss which is happening in Gaza?

Eylon Levy:
First and foremost, I would say that the humanitarian question is on the minds of Israelis around the country, and so is the fate and condition of the more than 220 Israeli hostages, inside the Gaza Strip. We're talking about babies some a few months old. Elderly people over the age of 80 without medication being kept in a brutal tunnel somewhere by a terrorist organization that tortured, murdered their families in Israel, not given access to the Red Cross.

[...]

Now, we've all been watching the same images on TV, the images coming out of the Gaza Strip are very difficult to watch. And I think the world is right to be outraged. But that outrage needs to be directed at the brutal terrorist organization that has subjugated the people of Gaza for the last 16 years subordinating them to its terrorist regime. It should be directed at the terror organization that has consistently stolen humanitarian aid , the terror organization that has embedded itself among civilian areas, under people's homes, under schools, under hospitals and the terror organization that is physically preventing people from escaping and as much as Israel is trying to do everything we're trying to do to keep civilians safe inside the Gaza Strip. By the way, Israel has also evacuated over 100,000 of our own people away from areas of combat because we don't want them to be hurt, but it's important to understand everything that happens inside the Gaza Strip. Any human suffering that happens there is solely and squarely the responsibility and fault of Hamas, the evil terrorist organization that perpetrated the October 7 massacre.

Blame Hamas.

They did this and they knew Israel would have to respond with full force.

Hamas and their ilk, with their bloodlust and perversion of religion, poison all they touch.

IMO

The Air Force attacked over 400 military targets in the Gaza Strip in the last day and killed several commanders in the terrorist organization HamasThe deputy commander of the Nusirat battalion, the deputy commander of the Shati battalion and the deputy commander of the Alfurkan battalion in the terrorist organization Hamas were killed tonight

They probably got the gowns from local women

See question and answer at 2:25 re: hostages, IDF SP says it’s “psychological warfare”:
I hope Col. Conricus survives this war and is able to get some rest and relief after this. He has been everywhere, steadfastly defending Israel.

I think Chris Cuomo suddenly looks a lot older. I also think he should not have aired the propaganda footage of Hamas giving the two hostages tea, etc.

On CNN, Clarissa Ward stated that they wouldn’t air that footage because they knew it was designed to make Hamas look humane.

Clearly Hamas’ tea would be unnecessary if they hadn’t captured hostages in the first place.

IMO

They also did this in Ukraine.

Google Maps and Waze temporarily disable live traffic data in Israel

Google is temporarily disabling live traffic conditions on its mapping service apps, Google Maps and Waze, in Israel, the tech company confirmed Monday, as the country prepares for a potential ground invasion into Gaza.

Google did not say whether the tools would be disabled in Israel, Gaza or both. It also did not say whether the action was at the request of the Israel Defense Forces.

Good development; troop movements cannot then be monitored & traked online.

Much like not broadcasting, and asking viewers not to broadcast/post, law eforcement locations while active shooter events are ongoing.

It all just puts additional ad unnecessary risk on lives being lost.

IDF says it carried out strikes against 400 Hamas targets over last day

According to the IDF, the recent strikes focused on Hamas staging grounds across the Gaza Strip — including several in mosques — and against terror operatives preparing rocket fire on Israel.

The IDF says it also struck the entrance of a Hamas tunnel on the Gaza coast and command centers overnight.

Macron wants a humanitarian truce and Israel has made it clear that isn't going to happen.

Amnesty International's news release the other day did not help the IDF or Israel right now when it comes influencing public or political opinions via the news media.

In a wide-scale operation to dismantle Hamas' terrorist capabilities, the IDF struck over 400 terrorist targets in the past 24hrs:

- Hamas gunmen setting up to fire rockets toward Israel.
- A Hamas operational tunnel shaft allowing terrorists to infiltrate Israel through the sea.
- Hamas command centers used by operatives and staging armaments in Mosques.

The IDF will continue operating in order to ensure the safety of innocent civilians.
