For the past 15 hours, Israel has been at war with Hamas terrorists who murdered more than 200 Israelis and injured another 900.

Heavily armed Hamas terrorists infiltrated into Israeli towns and went door to door slaughtering and kidnapping innocent Israelis.

Additionally the terrorists launched an extensive attack on Israel, firing THOUSANDS of rockets at Israeli civilians.

We will take every measure necessary to protect our citizens against these barbaric attacks.

"We are appalled by this act of terrorism by Hamas against the citizens and civilian communities in Israel," Beverly Hills Mayor Julian Gold said. "We call on President Biden and Congress to act swiftly in support of Israel. Additionally, we hope all peace-loving nations of the world and the United Nations, will condemn this senseless violence. Our hearts are with the people of Israel as we stand together and support Israel defending itself and condemn this heinous act."

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department was not immediately aware of any stepped-up enforcement.

A salvo of rockets is fired by Palestinian militants from Gaza City toward Israel on Saturday.

“Israel was humiliated and defeated today,” wrote Yossi Verter, a columnist in the left-leaning Haaretz newspaper. “Even if Gaza is destroyed ... that will not atone for the most serious security failure since the Yom Kippur war,” he wrote, referring to Israel’s 1973 conflict with its Arab neighbors. That war, too, began with a surprise attack; Israelis had just marked the 50th anniversary of the occasion Friday.

Settler attacks in the West Bank intensify

[...]

“In our little village, we are constantly subject to settler attacks, especially on our farmers, who are prevented from accessing their land,” Abu Madi said.

“Yesterday, the settlers destroyed 40 trees and stole our olive harvest, and today they tried to raid the village, with the help of the army, which fired live ammunition at us.”

He added that three homes were burned, “and they tried to burn another home with women and children in it.”

“Settlers also fired their own weapons and stabbed a young man, as others surrounded a house for two hours, before they fled when people from the village arrived.”

The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Sunday on the violence in the Middle East, the body said in a statement issued after a deadly assault by Hamas terrorists on Israel that claimed the lives of at least 200 people and injured over 1,400.

The council will convene Sunday at 3 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) to discuss “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question,” according to a statement released Saturday.

Brazil, which holds the UN Security Council presidency, announced Saturday that it would call a meeting of the body to address the escalating violence.

“The Brazilian government condemns the series of bombings and ground attacks carried out today in Israel starting from the Gaza Strip,” Brazil’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Brazil will convene an emergency meeting of the Security Council and “urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint in order to avoid escalating the situation,” it added.

Brazil “reiterates its commitment to a two-state solution, with Palestine and Israel living together in peace and security, within mutually agreed upon and internationally recognized borders,” the Foreign Ministry said.

(JTA) — Yoni Asher’s voice was steady but his urgency was unmistakable.

“I ask anyone coming to Efrat Katz’s home to tell me they are there, I have not heard from them for four hours,” he said on Israel’s government-run Kan radio.

“Them” for Asher was his mother-in-law, Efrat Katz, and his wife and his two daughters, aged 3 and 5, whom he did not name. The last time he spoke to Katz, who lives in Nir Oz, a kibbutz near the Gaza border, she described seeing Palestinian terrorists lead away her husband, who is 79.

Since then, nothing. Asher said he logged onto his laptop to track his wife’s cell phone. He saw it pop up in Khan Yunis, a thickly populated town in Gaza’s south.

“I fear that she has been kidnapped,” he said and asked the anchorman if he could recite his own phone number so he could get information. Of course, the anchorman said, and Asher recited the number. “Again, slowly,” the anchorman said.

The images and videos coming out of Israel are horrific. Civilians gunned down in their homes, in their cars, and on the streets. I saw one video of several elderly people shot dead at a bus stop. That’s not to mention the destruction caused by the thousands of rockets that were launched.

Untold hundreds of people are likely already dead, and this only began a few hours ago. It doesn’t appear this is anywhere near the conclusion.
"Backed by a barrage of rockets, dozens of Hamas militants broke out of the blockaded Gaza Strip and into nearby Israeli towns, killing dozens and abducting others in an unprecedented surprise early morning attack during a major Jewish holiday Saturday."

Absolutely DESPICABLE!!!
