It came through on Snapchat. Her mobile number was shared widely in the start of his disappearance on posters and on the FB group.

Sorry to go off subject but how did Jay’s Mum receive a text warning her she wouldn’t see her son again just as she landed in Tenerife? I know this was an early topic of discussion but how do they know it was ‘trolls’? She hadn’t put up any posters with her number on or anything as had only known for a few hours he was missing. I believe that her phone number had been published in early social media posts, presumably by herself or family, in order to receive potential information immediately.

She didn’t land until after the original posters were out with their phone numbers on. The posters were made on the Tuesday, they didn’t arrive until late Wednesday and posted on the official Facebook group it was getting dark and they would go out on the Thursday to look for him. Search poster on the official group and it pulls up both the post that says they have arrived (5 days ago) and the original poster someone made (6 days ago)

I'm just wondering if the registration number is visible on the screenshot Jay took of the white car at the AirBnB. I can't find the post with that screenshot. I believe the same white car was at the Air BnB on Google Maps. Do we know if it belongs to the owner of the property. It can't be the rental car the 2 British men were using or it wouldn't feature on Google maps. It must be a car that lives there. Just been viewing some stills from footage from a live cam of the road Jay was believed to be on and a white car kept going to the spot where Jay's phone last pinged and parking up several times. Probably nothing just a tourist or local looking at the view or curious to see where his last location was maybe but I am interested to find out if the reg number is visible in the screenshot as it was visible on the car in the live cam footage just to see if it's the same car.

No you have to have the app. If they have your number they can message you.

And I agree with Jay's dad. I don't think he went off the road. Also, the pin on his phone, from the Rural Park, is exactly where Jay was staying (he was not in Masca, which is south of that Airbnb) so it doesn't mean he was inside the treacherous park. I do think that's Jay on this cam. The clothing looks right and it looks like he's got the black cross body bag on him. This would mean that Jay got going in the correct direction. It might not be the same route as that by which he got to the Airbnb but it is heading back south.

The Spanish Civil Guard told UK media it was "doing everything possible" to find Mr Slater.

"A specialist mountain rescue and intervention group called the Greim have been mobilised."

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said in a statement: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."

Mr Slater's father Warren Slater told Sky News on Saturday that he is "just hoping that somebody has helped him off this mountain".

Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle, best known for her role as Janice Battersby on the soap, is the goddaughter of Mr Slater's grandmother.

She posted on X on 18 June: "My God Mother's Grandson has gone missing. His mother has flown out 7pm. To join the police search. Hope to God they find him. Please [pray] for him."

Mr Slater's stepfather Andy Watson told The Sun his stepson is "no mug" and "very streetwise", but that he may have lost his bearings while it was dark.

If he is carrying that bag, he certainly had some money on him, although he could have lost it or been robbed.

I suppose the only way this would make sense is if he had actively chosen to stay concealed..up until that point at least. IMO

So you're saying they could have identified what jay was wearing exactly, but they are just allowing shoddy inaccurate or incomplete descriptions of a missing person to be publicised anyway..
