JLM: Morgan Harrington/Fairfax Rape Victim - *Forensic Link* to MH #2

I'm kind of thinking HG will be somewhere the others haven't been... I just don't see him placing her in the same location(s). Too risky- would immediately draw a connection. JM knows that they have DNA from MH. I think HG will be somewhere completely different than any other of his victims.

Some killers do have burial sites they feel are in their comfort zone and they will place several bodies in the general location. But JM may have more than one comfort zone place. I do think if any more bodies are found, and tied to him, the places where he discarded them will have a familiar connection to him in someway. Whether it is a place where he grew up or lived for sometime or maybe even places he has fished in the past or maybe even be a remote area he learned about while being a taxi cab driver.

I am sure the profilers are going over all of his entire life history to see what connections can be made as to where he would discard the remains of his victims.

Killers are high risk takers anyway and they have had their own preferred area and have placed multiple victims in the same general area. Some even revisit where they discarded the remains of their victims.

I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if JM has returned over the years to where he placed his victims and I do think there are more victims out there.

He may have returned to where Morgan was discarded until she was found.

That discovery may have made him change his disposal site to another place making him place Hannah in a different area or an area where LE has not found the other missing women that may be missing because of JM.

HG's phone stopped pinging at 1:30am. Police can apparently peg her at the Downtown Mall area until at least 1:40am (I can post article if necessary.) That means they have no cell phone info after she departed. They could possibly use JM's. Unfortunately though there are a lot of areas not too far outside of Charlottesville that don't get any cell phone reception at all.

Ok, yes that would be much different. But I was thinking they left the restaurant at 1:08 and the text went out at 1:20. < At the time, I was thinking thru if she could possibly have walked back to Wertland and 14th by then.. which was a "No." I do not recall any article stating they were at that restaurant THAT late. If you could find the article that would be great.

I have always felt the Harringtons know much more about Morgan's case than they have ever shared.

They wouldn't tell anything that they know because they know it could impede the investigation.

Just like Marlene Lamar knew many things that was going on behind the scene but never breathed a word of it publicly.

I wouldn't be surprised if she is in a body of water. An old well might also be a place he would use.

When I think about the body of water angle, I think JM isn't complex enough to carry that out. Just a hunch IMO- that he wouldn't be so careful as to think about bodies rising, etc. Based on the way he pretty much just dumped MH- didn't try to bury her or hide evidence- I just think he doesn't think through the "disposing" part of things. Absolutely no real substance behind my thinking there, but just a personal opinion. :thinking:

Sorry to repost my question from the old thread but I'm still curious if anybody has any insights -

Just curious - does anyone know if MH's parents would be told by LE what evidence they have that connects JM to her? But basically the parents would not be able to reveal what it is until LE reveals it or it's presented at trial? I don't know much about police protocol in investigations like if LE would be able to tell MH's parents out of courtesy or something like that. I'm just wondering if MH's parents know more about the evidence than the public does.

Although it is possible, could happen that LE tells the parents or other loved ones in a case, things not yet revealed, it's often the situatuation that the family is told nothing more. It's very frustrating and painful for parents and others so invested in the victim. Some have gone so far to hire private investigators and in many such cases, LE becomes a real impediment to collecting info. So it's often a shaky relationship between family and LE in such situations. It is anyways. One never feels LE is doing enough, and they cannot possibly be as devoted as parents are. On top of that mistakes are often made in these cases, things overlooked, info not shared that should have been, etc.

HANNAH GRAHAM BREAKING: Christopher Newport says in a statement regarding Jesse Matthew Jr. "Christopher Newport University has determined that there is a single file responsive to your inquiry regarding infractions against Matthew issued by University Police."

This means at one time an investigation was open into Matthew while he was a student there. The school will not say what the investigation was about, or if it was the reason he left the school after only 9 months.

Since Longo was appealing to the public to say that they saw MH and JM get into his car between 1:20 - 1:40 in his press meeting of the 21st, I doubt that report is correct. At his press meeting on the 23rd he just announced the arrest warrant and didn't say much more than that. The NBC report is probably just paraphrasing earlier reports and getting his appeal to the public confused with there being actual reports.

It is possible that people came forward after the press conference and described what Longo asked them to describe on the 21st however, but the reporters wouldn't know that.

I just have to say that I love the Harringtons! I want to hug them .. They are such composed, classy people! They have waited so long for answers in Morgan's death and I'm so happy they are getting some.

I agree 100%!! Makes me think Morgan had to be extra amazing if she had both of their DNA. So glad they may get the answers they need, can't shake the sadness I feel that they had to ask these questions to begin with!

Why? Maybe it's because of what I've learned about him since seeing his photo. That could be a big part of it I'm sure. I can't really say why exactly, but his face does not give me the warm fuzzies, but that's just me. His mug shot scares the crap outta me. He doesn't look like a nice fella.

The farm was searched after Graham’s disappearance, police have said. The owners of the farm could not be reached for comment Monday.

It does appear that 'something' lead them to believe these cases with Hannah, and MOrgan were related early in the investigation. I wonder if someone called in a tip with the same perp name they had seen before? "Location, location, location" is what the now retired investigator kept saying about where Morgan was found, and that it would be key to finding her killer. He kept saying the perp knew that area, and knew it well. Seems he was right. Panderosa Trail was brought frequently in Morgan's case.

I wonder if he just "dumped" her like that is was so he could keep watch/return which would eliminate bodies of water. I wonder if he's keeping items from the women, and likes to keep bodies close by as his "secret"

This shows me we are dealing with someone who gets a thrill out of the pain and torture he inflicts on his innocent victims.

It was not necessary to crush Morgan's bones in his attack against her nor was it even necessary in order to kill her. She was a small petite woman who would have been no match for this huge brute but he chose to crush her unmercifully. It really shows how twisted he really is.

I see him as a man who has violent sadistic tendencies against females.

He doesn't seem to prefer one specific type of woman like some killers do. I think he has this underlying rage and hatred against women and he strikes when he sees a young woman alone.

It really shows what a coward he truly is by preying on the vulnerable and helpless.

In the case of Universities, they don't conduct their investigations like a criminal case, it is more like a civil case where the bar for proof is much lower. They use preponderance of evidence as the standard rather than beyond reasonable doubt. It varies from campus to campus of course, but the people who sit on those disciplinary committees tend to have activist/politically correct views on subjects like this. In situations like a she said/he said dispute, the burden of proof will often lie with the accused since it is assumed that no one would make an accusation like that without cause. So you might easily see a situation where a student is expelled but no criminal charges are proceeded with due to insufficient evidence.

An example of how this can play out is provided in this recent report (this particular case was in a school, not a university, but the mind set is the same)

We don't know that information.

It doesn't really matter if she identified him though even though she may have.

The DNA found in her case and the DNA link in Morgan's case really IDs JM as the perpetrator of both.

It does show though why the sketch was a dead ringer to how JM looked at the time before he had his dreads.

More likely it means she was killed after being hit by a car, or the farmer's tractor (or some other vehicle) had driven over the body sometime before it was found.
