The probability is that the time clocks on the two merchants' cash registers were a few minutes off. A minute wouldn't be long enough to pump the gas never mind any of the other logistics.
The time on both would be most likely when the card was swiped ... at Starbucks when she paid and at ARCO, when she swiped to activate the pump.

She admitted this on the stand; i.e., that she fabricated any number of lies and tailored them to comport with the forensics.

I've always believed that the reason she wanted to see the crime scene and recovered 'deleted' photos in her interrogation with Det. Flores was less about morbid curiosity than it was defense strategy.

How many images did they recover? What did they show? What stories, excuses, and rationalizations might be most effective in manipulating a jury given the evidence which could not be explained away and therefore had to be incorporated into her yarn?
Didnt she say in front of the jury! That she tried to manipulate the crime scene! According to what she heard was found at the crime scene.?

I just now listened to the video of Travis talking about being robbed while Jodi is awake on his lap. Did anyone else catch that this happened at Mimi's Cafe? Isn't that where Jodi was working at the time? And that he always ordered the same thing from there each time? Wonder if Jodi got her "same thing from Starbucks" from Travis.

Quick OT for Facebook users. As you may know this trial is the last LIVE one that will be shown and the last trial Beth Karas will report on. After this, she's out of a job. Please take a moment to "like" this FB page in support of her and our Live trials. Thank you!

Thanks for the heads up KCL ...

Done ... with pleasure! Beautiful collage of Beth, created by our very own

So this is the right one? OK - with Starbucks behind her and to the right, that puts her front end actually against the wall, or close to it. Sitting in a car you can't see down that low in front. She would only be seeing that ivy covered wall. Skate boarders crawling in there? I don't think so, Arias! One of her most pathetic stories.

ETA: or she was parked out in the middle, I guess. Don't think there are any curbs out there. Do you see any?

First, I don't see any curbs. Second, I don't see a CVS for which she has a receipt timed 10 mins before her Starbucks. Do you have an aerial for the CVS location relative to the Starbucks? Remember part of testimony was that she was inside Starbucks for several mins.

So by the receipts then, she has 10 mins to get from CVS to Starbucks, use the restroom, wait in line, and check out?

Here's a thought. What *if* she had an AZ plate she put on the rear while there, removed it in UT and inadvertently replaced the CA plate upside down? This would explain why she wasn't pulled over in AZ or NV, which I would think could happen driving all that distance with it upside down. There is no reason for her to deliberately want to be stopped in UT since she had an alibi.

MOO
Even though it seems like a better plan, I don't think it is likely, because her original story was that she was never in AZ. And why put it on upside down? That was deliberate, IMO to avoid detection by surveillance cameras/toll booths/ intersection cameras. In CA we have cameras at the bridge tolls, and intersections to catch red light runners (major fine). One time my husband accidentally ran a bridge toll booth because he got in the wrong lane for the Fast Pass- prepaid card instead of cash. We got mailed a photo of our license plate with the fine.

I have wondered that too, Khaki. It seems odd to me that on May 10 he would reference f#cking in the woods. Isn't that the same day as the phone sex call referencing that?

I've been asking the same question. It really doesn't make sense to me.

The CVS is at 3883 E. Foothill Road and the Starbucks @ 3699 E. Foothill. It's about a minute to drive from CVS to Starbucks.

I swear some of the emails from Travis just don't seem real. They are so inconsistent. Even though I heard him on the tape, these emails are too over the top. Is there any possible way she composed them by hacking into his phone?

Entirely possible but I doubt it. There's a lot of up and down with these two. For example: Texts 5/10/08 -starts with angry TA texts followed by phone sex tape followed by sweet texts between two. In approx. 24 hour period IIRC.

What proof is there that the recorded sex phone call was on May 10, 2008? It is not time stamped and I as far as I know we only have Jodis word to go on that it was recorded on that date. We all know how much Jodis word is worth at this point.

I don't understand the theory that he didn't know she was there. Why would he stand with his arms over his chest or lean against the wall like that? The pics look posed to me.
Ever done body building? It's a great feeling to flex!

I know, that in the woods story is showing up too much and it doesn't make sense

Alos, the terxt about her family drama were at the very end of March....didn't Juan get her to say on the stand that her mom came out to help her nut then left without doing so? I wonder if there's some drama he's referring too there?

Detective Flores told her that when the subpoena phone records, they are able to tell the location from where each one was sent. So any after she moved back to Yreka would have been caught by LE.

I don't understand the angry text, really angry text, then sweet one. That is odd to me. Then really rejection text, kick to the curb type text. He seems so perplexed how to get out of this relationship.

JMHO

I might be one of the few on this board, but I don't want any re-enactments. it only is is not possible to recreate the exact conditions of the day of the murder, but it can backfire and then the whole case is lost on what amounts to a stupid stunt (sorry Granddaughter, I said stupid)...anyway, the whole OJ and the gloves fiasco is an example of why it is not a good idea to perform certain courtroom acts without knowing what the outcome will be. I don't believe it was the primary reason he was acquitted, as it was eloquently explained in a book by Vince Bugliosi, but it sure was a major snafu by the prosecution.

Mimi's Cafe is a chain in SoCal. I remember reading that they were all at the Riverside, CA location. Riverside also happens to be where Travis grew up. Don't remember Jodi ever working in Riverside. I believe she worked at PJ Chaings, another chain, but I think it was in Palm Desert or Mesa.

My belief is her story regarding the knife and the dishwasher was to cover herself, in that she would hope to take away the premeditation if she hadn't brought the knife into the house with her. She has to have the weapons, both gun and knife, already inside his house instead of her backpack or on her person.

MOO
I think so too. She made the dishwasher statement "on the fly" but she was quick to retract at the next opportunity she had because she realized that she couldn't have remembered putting it in the dishwasher because she was supposed to have been in the "fog". Kind of like the gun was/wasn't loaded and did/did not have a holster...

I wonder if she sent the sex recording to his friends?

I am such a BIG FAN of Vince Bugliosi!!! I was a around (uhum) when he prosecuted Manson. Boy, he did the best of best prosecuting to date. If I had gone into law and needed to clerk under someone, it would have been Mr. Bugliosi.

I had such a nightmare last night and I know I can attribute it to following this case. I dreamt that I was going to an indoor waterpark with friends and I saw Jodi Arias there. She was standing across from me and I got chills up my spine. Somehow she was released for a few days, as her trial was going on during this time. I told everyone around me, please let's leave. I don't want to see her. She will murder us. She heard me say this and gave me that shark stare and I started running away. I went down a water slide and knew she was coming. When she passed me by, she squeezed my arm and gave me a dead glare as if to say, "Yes, I killed Travis. No, it wasn't self-defense. What are YOU going to do about it?" I woke up in a panic!

Has anyone else had nightmares about this case? I was so scared!

No nightmares, but I reverted back to needing a nightlight in the hall outside my bedroom door. Before that I was hardly sleeping, because I still believe she came back unexpectedly when Travis was showering. I also make the dog stay in the bathroom with me while I shower... This case has terrified me!
