Well it's the premeditation they are arguing against here (good luck). Because it can't be both self defense and pre meditated. If the jury thinks she went there with a plan to kill him(which they will), this defense is toast. It's a Hail Mary.

This is great in theory but in actuality the two times I've had a gun pulled on me I absolutely froze. We're talking mind-numbing fear. The first time it happened I was holding my then 9 month old daughter. I don't remember even thinking beyond 'Please God' and believing I could talk him down if he gave me time to.

The next and last time was years later at the end of our relationship. I agreed to all his terms and demands, left the basement (where he'd isolated me) alive, and he went to jail for a year. FWIW

I did too Brits. I was mortified and all I could think of if I did everything I could to appease him he wouldnt pull the trigger. I begged and begged him not to kill me and leave our children without a mother. One time he did pull the trigger when he had it up against my temple but I didnt know he had unloaded the gun. He played terrible mind games. I thought I was going to die and kept thinking about my children and how they needed me.

Travis had no way to escape anyway. She had him trapped. I do think he tried to flee but she overcame him and drug him back attacking him the entire time.

Its nice to think that people will kick and scream and try to fight back and do all the right things but when reality strikes it is a much different matter.

Most freeze including children when they have been taught to scream and fight back or run away.

I have been praying that cross doesn't start Monday or Tuesday because I have class all day. I forgot about you being out of town all week. How is she going to explain 1. she was dressed and he was in the shower (I think Travis thought she was gone) 2. if he attacked her for dropping the camera where was the knife and gun that she could get both and slaughter him in 2 minutes.

I guess I'm just not following you then. I think you're saying that females can't or don't commit the same kinds of crimes that males do. While I would agree that it's not as common for females to commit kidnapping, rape and murder -- I don't think Jodi is the typical perpetrator, so that makes this case a little different. In most female-on-male murders, you do not see the level of violence we see in this case -- I've never seen it. I think Jodi is a different kind of killer than we're used to, and I do think she is capable of the worst atrocities, including rape and holding Travis hostage.

Why did you put rape in scare quotes? Do you not believe they were rape?

I totally agree with you here. There is nothing typical about JA and the unbelievable horror and agony she inflicted on poor TA. The nature and level of this sort of deranged violence would be unthinkable by anyone who came even close to having a conscience.

I also think she is disturbed and evil enough that she had planned intent on torturing and terrorizing him, jmo of course.

As far as the hostage scenario, I believe it is not an impossibility. I for one don't believe he sat in the bottom of the shower voluntarily, just like I don't believe that the Psycho similarities are a coincidence either. I think at this point he was performing at gunpoint, as he appears to me to be totally submissive and at her mercy in those shower photos. JMO

Good Morning all... I was thinking of something that hasn't been mentioned (unless I missed it) This week Sky Hughes is suppose to take the stand in the evidentiary hearing on the 13th. I remember Willcott saying something one day about an email (not sure if it was to Sky or from Sky) saying something to the extent of "I knew he had issues but I didn't know about that.. what age group did he like"??? I believe that Chis Hughes is still under subpoena, so I'm wondering if Nurmi will try to put one of them on the stand to talk about Travis' "issues" ? I'm still in disbelief that the defense would stoop so low but I guess nothing JA does or says will surprise at this point.

I asked at the beginning of this case if anyone thought we would ever hear the truth about what really happened that day. While I'm sure there is 'some' truth mixed in with what Jodi has said it just seems like we will hear what 'she' wants to tell so I have come to the conclusion that we may never hear what actually happened. Jodi is evil. There's no changing my mind about that.

I'm taking my grand baby home today. We've had a great weekend. This coming week could be a difficult week for TA's family and friends. Praying for strength for them. Have a great day everyone!

This is absolutely terrible for the family to be holding court this way, why did they not select a Judge who was not so bogged down with duties? (That) Florida trial was bam,bam,bam. Also tough on the jurors,BUT COME ON more on the poor family..

Since we're still on direct, what are some questions you'd like to hear Nurmi still ask her? Aka doors yet to open for Boy Juander to come thrashing through?

I want to hear her fairytale about the hair color, why she purchased it, what she did with it, if she dyed her hair- where when and why? ( knowing of course shell blame it on Travis- ugh- let the jury see that though).

Where did the money come from the multiple deposits? Why?
Why borrow gas cans?
How come there isn't a credit card trail in Arizona?

I won't believe any of her answers but I want to hear how she tries to make her testimony fit the evidence.

I honestly don't think those questions will be asked because right now everything is smoke-and-mirrors in an attempt to divert the jury.

I think she selected the petite gun because it felt more comfortable in her own hand. I think most people would choose a gun to use against a person knowing it could kill them.

The gun was also conveniently located in the home where she lived. It was also small and easily concealed.
