BBM: The defense "may think" they are achieving something, but IMO, the defense is achieving nothing ... absolutely zilch !

And if they think they are achieving "sympathy" for JA, they are NOT, imo ... we have seen what -- 3 or 4 different personalities and demeanors of JA on that stand, including the REAL Jodi Arias when Mr. Martinez was cross-examining her -- which was really scary, IMO, those "looks" she gave Mr. M gave me the willies !

The longer they keep her up there, the longer she LIES and the more absurd her LIES ... IF they think they can do "damage control" about these LIES, they can't because JA can't keep track of her lies and she continues to talk way too much ...

The defense has gone beyond the absurd in this case -- especially when they re-played that phone sex tape again yesterday ... I felt so sorry for Travis' Family having to endure listening to that BS again !

In short, I don't see anything the Defense can do for JA because they have to know this was pre-meditated murder and it was clearly PROVEN by Mr. M ... This "abuse" defense has turned into "a sexual abuse defense" -- and it has been proven there was NO abuse by Travis and JA was the "sexual aggressor" !

I know the defense has to "represent" their client -- and I understand this is a DP case ... BUT ...

Everything the defense has tried IMO has been an "epic fail" ... they need to "hang it up" now and quit wasting time ...

It is anyone's guess what she did with those pages - no explanation provided by her detailed little mind. I'm curious as to when she ripped those pages out. I'm inclined to think she did it while she was in coverup mode after the murder.

IIRC, she said she didn't have insurance, and didn't seek medical attention. How convenient!

She wouldn't need insurance, that would be covered under workmans comp.

Alot of women have self esteem issues-- alot of women have done things they might now be ashamed of, trying to be loved. However, THEY DON'T SLAUGHTER A GUY WHO REJECTED THEM. She is in a class by herself, a sociopath and narcissist who cares only about herself. i have not one shred of empathy for her, not one.

I agree with you completely. I was curious about this matter of anal sex, she or more so Nurmi is trying to make TA out to be a monster but my point was her having anal with many! and the more nurmi can try to send us and the jury down these rabbit holes, the farther away we get from what this trial is about. it's not about her damn journal. it's about the massive amount of EVIDENCE that she went to mesa intending to kill travis and she did just that, and then took steps to cover up her crime----very deliberate steps. THAT'S what this case is about. all this garbage written in a journal----by a murderous, lying psychopath---is meaningless, IMO.

I missed it too! I just "looked" through the videos posted on you tube from yesterday. And when I say "looked", I mean I scrolled throught the bar looking to see Juan standing up and questioning Arias. There was no way I was going to "listen" to the Nurmi & Jodi show.

So, please if anyone can point to a time on the video that would be great. I couldn't find it the way I looked.

I had to "check out" yesterday. There was no way I could listen her and Nurmi going over the same old, same old. And do not play that edited "sex tape" when we ALL heard Jodi participating on that same tape!

P.S. I think the jury has "checked out" too!

I believe it was around 5:00 CST because I had just gotten home from work, turned on the live feed, and he had just gotten up there. Not sure if that helps. :waitasec:

Sadly In Session has cut it's programming to 2 hours a day. We will have to watch online or youtube. I believe HLN is carrying it but they have a ton of commercials!

i had to back away from this whole thing yesterday, which i figured i would. i don't do well with the level of frustration and yes, anger, i felt over the machinations of the defense. i wonder what fake rabbit he'll pull out of the hat today?

anyway, since i understand the judge has discretion over whether JM can re-cross on this new 'evidence', i won't be surprised if she doesn't allow it. i've watched a lot of trials, and i've never seen one where IMO, the judge is so intimidated by the defense, and has allowed so much very suspect material to come in as so-called evidence.

SO, if she doesn't allow JM to question her on these torn-out journal pages, i guess he'll have to do it in his rebuttal case.

maybe he's scoring points. i don't know. but my opinion is nurmi needs to get her off the stand today----i think everyone has 'arias fatigue'.

I agree with you all the way on this. But in Nurmi's defense (I don't like the chap at all), he's got nothing else to work with and his only goal is to spare her the DP. JMO - she deserves the DP.
