Does anyone believe that some of the jurors aren't following a little of this in the news or talking to family about it???

After sitting thru it in court? I doubt they want to hear about it afterwards. jmo

What is the point of the cross examination?

At this point, no idea. The defense attorney seems unprepared or disorganized. He needs to make his point by asking leading questions and getting answers he knows he can get. If I were in his shoes, I would be trying to use Det. Flores to show that Jodi isn't really a liar who makes up stories to get out of trouble, she was coaxed to lie - she was given the suggestion that someone else was there yada yada...the worst part for their new defense of self defense is that Jodi is a big fat liar con artist, so in the name of advocacy for his client he needs to try and bolster her credibility by attacking the credibility of the interrogation questions and techniques....SPECIFICALLY. But he's just rambling about and changing topics. Sad.

DA questioning Det . . re: 6/15/08 interview w/JA . . . re: TA portraying himself a certain way . . . they kept their relationship hidden from everyone else . . . talked about "you had made the comment . . .. OBJECTION - Approach.

A few days back comment to JA about "you were just going there to have a good time and something got out of hand" . . .then talked about interview/interrogation techniques - trained in them (same thing) - some courses are labeled interview others are interrogation.

When he first became a Det - he took 30 hr basic course and later he took a more advanced 12 hr interview/interrogation course. In the academy there are basic courses on how to contact and interview people.

DA alleges there is a differences in interview w/witness vs. interrogation w/supect of a crime - yes.

These techniques are different in types of interview vs. interrogation - a little different because of the nature of what they are . . . . witness vs suspect - is there concern that suspect is going to be a little less (upfront?) with info -

what specific techniques . . . in every case it is different - sometimes you say I know your fingerprints were there and maybe they really weren't there.

Maybe you were going to there to have a good time and something got out of hand - it is a "theme" technique - after you get to know their lifestyle.

Mr. Alexander portraying himself a different way - he was trying to play on her emotions - he didn't see her as emotional - he was hoping to play on her emotions.

JA told him about intruders - in terms of interrogation of suspects - trained on indicators of deception ... certain things people do when deceptive - they turn away, play with clothes alot, other indicators.

He has conducted "hundreds or thousands" of interrogations over the years. Indicators of deception - non-verbal indicators. Are there verbal indicators? Could be . . . .

Based on training and experience - when people lie is there generally speaking do they throw a little truth in there to make lie be more beliveable - it has to be plausable - or believable. . . . Det job is to sort out some of that

Discussion about attempting to find a handgun - were there knives recovered @ Alexander home? yes - kitchen knives - several - there was a kitchen block - there were knives in the dishwasher - they could not determine if they were the ones used in the murder.

The yard and all around residence in and out was searched - didn't have anywhere to go in the neighborhood but everything in immediate area was searched.

On 6/15 they had a fairly complete investigation up to that point . . . one video centered around a period of time when he and JA talking about her move to Mesa. In that video she made a comment to the effect that Travis told her they could still hang out. . . . did hang out mean a code for having sex? . . . don't remember

tape cut off right off at the time when JA was talking about Travis and Lisa - Det. doesn't recall that specific . . . .

Exhibit #351 refresh recollection? sure.

Thanks so much, WenWe4 and all the other annotators! Another possibility: Knives were found in the dishwasher.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum. Butt (lol), she is a planner. She dyes her hair. She steals a gun. She gets a car that is one of a billion.

She stabs him first?

TA looks like quite a beefy guy. She is small. And we have seen she does not have a six pack.

I would shoot someone. Trying to stab a huge guy makes no sense to me.

It does make sense that she shot him first and the gun jammed . Then she took the time to get a knife from somewhere.

The knife makes no sense in light of all of her other planning

IMO the gun was her protection. I think the knife was the way she wanted it to go. Up close and personal. Likely delighted in watching the life drain from poor Travis.

admonition: don't talk about the case, don't watch coverage of the case, no social media about the case, etc etc etc

What are the odds that all the jurors are following the rules? I just don't know if that's possible in today's communication environment.

I was a juror on a federal case in the 70's that made the three big networks every night for the three weeks the trial lasted. We were not sequestered and I obeyed the rules (had DH save all the newspaper clippings for me to read afterward).

BTW: If I'd read about that case it well might have changed my vote from ng to guilty.

Yep, she said would give him a humane death,:furious:

LOL Yep!! At that moment she was probably thinking to herself... If I had it all to do over again... that is what I would do.. I would shoot him several times and give him a more humane death than I did the first time...

deep thoughts from Jodi

Ok she's not worried about prints, but would wear gloves?

Eyeroll...

I falling down on my four knees now

Hi, Ziggy. I have watched some of the proceedings, often with the sound down on a partial screen. To me, the male defense attorney frequently seems inattentive or even bored. He seldom takes notes and when cross-examining, he seems not to have a strategy or even a series of questions.

Jodi must be furious.

Some things did jump out at me during the tape of her talking to detective. She did mention how she thought that one picture of him in the shower with the water on his face was ‘so great’. I wonder if that was the close up one that we have seen. That creeped me out. And when she did talk about the ninja attack, I do believe the majority of what Travis said and did happened, just it was by her own hands and not intruders.

I really can’t wait until they start again today. I brought my headphones to work in hopes I would catch a little bit so I don’t feel too far behind. But I would like to thank everyone for all the updates and discussions.

Welcome! And thank you for pointing out the "so great" comment she made about that last picture. I really wouldn't be surprised if she took that knowing it would be his last picture. JHole SURE is proud of herself.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.

I didn't when I was a juror but there are allegations of juror misconduct in a lot of trials so who knows. :waitasec:

She could never stab him, good grief no!

As she asks with a sparkle in her eye, how many times was he stabbed?

Just like yippee can I please see the pics, morbid curiosity all all that jazz!
