Just one more day, mom...

I think she would have been caught easily too. There was some clue that she was pondering going to California, but never took the leap. I think she was just delusional about not being caught and having a good old time. It did blow up in her face finally and I think she was smart enough to know she had to hide at least, while working on a way out of Orlando. She wouldn't have been clever enough though to not be tracked down by LE in a heartbeat.

She wouldn't have made it far even if she used the money she stole for a getaway instead of squandering it imo.

But is that why she wanted "one more day" from CA? And would she have headed to see MH in CA? If CA had given her one more day but likely insisted that she stay at the A's home and they go get Caylee first thing in the morning - would CA have awoken to find her daughter, her car, and her money gone? Most likely if CA woke up at all.

yes, I also thought that was a possibility too

Casey said this to Cindy at the time of the 911 calls. I'm just curious - what do you think Casey planned to do if she had that extra day, if Cindy had agreed to wait a day?

One thought I had was that she'd tell Cindy that she was going to get Caylee, but then she'd head out to California to her friend Mark, telling Cindy that she'd taken Caylee with her.

I just wonder what she thought she could do in a day that would solve the problem.

Honest to God I think .....that if CA had given KC one more day, then on the 16th of July 2008 - KC would have said again....just one more day Mom. Seriously, she was just stalling....and she would have just kept it up.

The only other possibility I see is that she would have given CA enough hints for her to guess that Caylee isn't never coming home! And then just said "so what are ya gonna do now mom?" And if CA would have "gotten it" before her instincts kicked in.....I don't think we'd have ever heard of Caylee Marie Anthony. And if this scenario would have happened....not long after CA or GA or both would have strangely died before their time.

:cow:

I think she would have bolted in that 1 more day. I think she would have bolted long before that, within that 31 days, but she got sidetracked with TL & figured her mom would not be able to find her at his apartment so she felt "safe". As Linask pointed out in post #28, she only needed $137 to make it to San Diego & she had that in her wallet. Once there she figured she had MH to mooch off of for awhile.

I think she honestly believed that everyone fell for her lies because no one ever called her out on them.....they just ignored them, which led her to think they believed her. So on her way to California she would have time to make up yet another lie for her family to buy.

I also do not discard the idea that she may have had plans to set up an "accident" for her parents.....using household weapons of course.

I so agree with you. For a very long time I have believed that ICA originally was planning or thinking of eliminating her parents. But the big fight occurred, and she left with Caylee in a fit of rage. I wouldn't have put it past her if given 1 more day to come up with some plan to do "something to them both." JMHO

this girl is the kind of person that totally expects you to believe the lies they are telling you. I dont think she wouldve gone anywhere but a place she knew her mother couldnt find her. She was still trying to convince le that her mother was just bein crazy and it was a "domestic dispute".Cindy wouldve never called the cops on her if it hadnt been for the car. Cindy didnt want to get stuck with the bill. thats why she probably called the cops to begin with, and called the car stolen as of the date of impound. I think eventually she wouldve gotten around to leaving just not until she had another patsy in place somewhere else, like cali. One more day? she wouldve gone off and evaded cindy for a few more days or weeks and then disappeared, after clearing out all of their bank accounts. all mo.

Now that CA had embarrassed her and called her bluff in front of TL and friends, I think she was more than able at that point to cut the lust ties with TL and run.

You make a good point pip...
Casey had no place to go hide now, the people she had kept separate and secret from Cindy had connected.

On July 16th Cindy found Amy's phone number and meet Amy for the first time..Connection Made....

Cindy also found out where Casey was...at her new boyfriends apt..a boyfriend Cindy knew nothing about...Connection made

Casey would not be able to easily avoid Cindy now...Cindy had Amy's phone number and knew where Tony lived...Yet I don't believe Casey was going to leave the Orlando area..she may have told people she was getting ready to leave but IMO the girl is ALL TALK...

Her conversations (telling Amy that they'd soon have the house to themselves for example) and computer searches certainly suggested that she was considering that option. I wonder if it's ever dawned on Cindy how lucky she was that she didn't give Casey "one more day."

I don't believe the "one more day" was anything other than an attempt to get out of her current situation. That is how ICA operates, she doesn't think past the moment. I agree with JB when he says she's no criminal mastermind. She isn't. She is a fool who does nothing more than react to her situation and/or feelings. At the time, that was her way of getting out of CAs sights. Even if it was a temporary solution, it was better than being in the situation she was in. I don't think she had any big plans or anything, she just felt caged by the situation and wanted out.

IIRC it was LP who said "she doesn't think more than 10 minutes ahead".......(or something close to that).....

Tink ita. It's those conversations combined with some of those computer searches that really got to me. I wonder if she had a terrible tragedy in mind for the 3 of them (GA,CA and Caylee) but that fight happened and she split with Caylee?

You know, I thought this was a bunch of BS for the longest time. But I've been rethinking. I really do wonder if she had planned on reporting Caylee missing the next day. Freaking out about how this is three days in a row she can't get ahold of Zani or something, wondering if something happened.

I say this because she had no source of money anymore. She had been able to get by without a car through the coincidence of having first TonE's and then Amy's available, but now Amy was back and she was stuck.

I think she already saw how it would play out in her mind....TonE would be there for her....like a knight in shining armor. People would be coming out of the woodwork to help her, food, money, whatever she needed. She might even get on TV. And if GA and CA gave her any grief about "losing" Caylee or the car, TonE would defend her. La Bella Vita indeed.

We can only surmise what Casey would have done with that one more day.

I do not think that KC had any idea what she was going to do. At that point she was backed into the corner, and needed to figure out how to lie her way out. Just like she always does when backed into the corner, comes up with a lie to cover her behind.

So I don't think KC even knew what she was going to do next. I honestly think although she did use the story of a nanny, she had the names down, I think she just threw the story together. ITA with the fact that she never thought more than 10 minutes ahead of time.

I agree with the folks saying that she was just stalling and would not have tried to go far away. Based on some of her other behaviors, I have a few guesses about what she might have done with "just one more day":

- I think she would have gone right back to Tony's place. Since her only concern on that jail phone call were getting his number, I think that she would have wanted to go right back there to "explain" (i.e. lie) about how her mom and Amy showed up because they were "crazy" and OF COURSE Caylee was with the nanny.

- I also believe she would have tried to forge some "proof" of the kidnapping. Maybe something like the "instructions" she later said Zanny gave her of how to behave. I base this on those emails she faked from "work" which I assume were used when her family would challenge her about whether she really was working. I have not seen any explanation about why or when exactly ICA showed these emails to her family, but I would guess that it was when she felt backed into a corner or when she needed to support another lie (like why she needed money even though she had a job).

- Whether she ended up at Tony's or somewhere else (I believe locally), I think she would have tried to convince them that she was in danger from her parents so that they would not open the door or answer the phone for Amy or her family. I would bet that ICA thought that her biggest mistake that day was to come to the door for Amy when her mother was hiding in the hallway and she would not do that again.

Of course, we can never know, but that is my opinion about what might have happened. I am glad Cindy didn't buy it this time, but I wish she would have done so sooner.

Having fooled her parents for years, Casey probably hadn't thought about the police becoming involved. Once Cindy started talking law enforcement, maybe Casey asked for one more day so she could move little Caylee's body and do some miscellaneous cover-up.

Glad that I took the time to breeze through this thread to see if anyone mentioned Padilla's references to "Casey living her life in 10-minute segments". When I saw the thread title, that's exactly what I thought!

This is one (rare) instance when I'll give LP a hat-tip because he's right on the money with his appraisal of how Casey deals with "situations" - another h/t to Padilla ;) - that arise in her daily life. Casey lives and thinks in the moment without considering the consequences of her impulsive actions or decisions.

I think Caylee was misbehaving one fateful afternoon when she hadn't had her nap. Casey wanted to go out and party that night, couldn't find a sitter for her child, and to top it off, Caylee was having a typical two-year-old's tantrum. Casey flew off the handle and did something to Caylee in a moment of impulsive anger and desperation. Once she realized what she'd done, Casey simply moved into the next moment. In many ways, Casey's motto is like that of Scarlett O'Hara: "I won't think about that now; I'll think about that tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day." jmo

ITA - she'd of headed to California and would never be seen nor heard from again.

Very interesting post! I have often wondered why ICA went with the 31-days instead of insisting it had just happened.

I think that goes to prove that she isn't as smart as she thinks she is. Doesn't think on her feet so to speak.

I can't imagine she'd have done much of anything. She'd fed Cindy a whole a bunch of "one more days" during that entire month. We'll be home tomorrow, we're in Tampa another day, tomorrow comes and now we're at Bush Gardens, next day is a car accident. It was all a day at a time with that girl. And in all the 30 days she had some legitimate breathing room to plan something, what does she do? Sits on her boyfriend's couch in a pair of shorts she'd picked up from sneaking into her mom's home earlier that day.

Not much of a planner, that one.

ICA event planning 101. ICA event planning gone wrong.
