Trying this again (I made a mistake with the maps in the post above).

This map shows the distance between Bardstown, where Crystal lived, and Hart County. The body was found yesterday in the Green River, though I don't know exactly where on the river. You can see the river on the map (what a crazy course it takes!). You might have to zoom in to see it, but the river is just below the red marker.

Does anyone have more specific info on where the bin was found?

Quoting myself...

Looks like the fishermen were on Green River near Johnson Springs Road. I'm not finding that road on a quick search. Any locals know the location?

Sorry for the serial posting...

Found Johnson Spring Road. It's right by H. Wilson Park, which you can see on the map linked above or here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/H...af08896f9f9255!8m2!3d37.3101304!4d-85.8486236

Of course, just because the bin was found there doesn't mean it was deposited there. Upriver would be to the west, as far as I can tell. But with all those horseshoe turns, I'm not sure how the flow of the river would work and what could be carried where.

Here's some interesting info about the river, totally off-topic. http://fw.ky.gov/Education/Pages/Green-River---Hart-County.aspx

Trying to determine which direction the river flows. Anyone know!?

ETA: The Green River is a tributary to the Ohio River, so it would flow into that. (I was thinking it went the opposite way. I'm always grateful for the U.S. geography I learn on following WS cases. Strange way to learn, but...there you have it.)

Yes. Amazing what you can learn here. Wish I had payed more attention in HS Geography Class. Who knew I would use it most at WS [emoji3]

Articles don't seem to be saying how decomposed the body is. Wish we knew for it may give us a better idea if it is Crystal.

Yes. I'd like to know too. One article linked above included a mention that the fishermen knew it was a body when they saw the bin in the water. So, it obviously still looks like a body. Crystal has been missing for a long time.

Hopefully we at least learn male or female. Someone went through a lot of trouble to cover this up. Sick.
I think I'll fall over backwords If police say body was burned.

If few more details about the river direction, counties, etc....Compiled here:

I was hoping for some info today, even just a general description such as gender.

Of course now I can't find it but I had read somehow that a gender had been identified by the guy who found it. However, if that's true, I think the likelihood of it being Crystal would be very unlikely. I don't even want to finish my though bc it just seems morbid to think about out loud. Her family deserves some resolution. Not only do they continue their search for her, but they've also assisted in other searches for missing persons in the area.
