He's talking so fast. Is he saying there is/was only one shooter/suspect?

I guess. He's not really filling in any blanks for us at all. So I am quite confused right now. Hopefully someone else can understand what's going on here.

From the Superintendent from presser:
8:40am several officers shot today. "a guy" was seen shooting. One officer still in critical condition & 2 stable. 2 is deceased.

Suspect in all black by car wash

Suspect died at scene where officer responded. No active shooting scene now but it is an active investigation

1-800-225-5324 call if anything seems suspicious

Lots of leads being followed up on.

Now Sheriff is speaking. Very upset, emotional. Asking for prayers. Says LE is a family & safety of community. He says it is not about gun control but it's what's in man's hearts. Very profound speech.

Continue to pray; he asks.

So are 2 police officers or 3 police officers deceased?

Is this location one where you can stroll about with a AK47 on your shoulder??

Officials at press conference seem really shook up. 3 officers are deceased and one is in really bad shape.

The guy talking now just said "these perpetrators......if there's more than one...." I wonder if that was a slip-up? He just said "individuals" who carried out the attack. So he really makes it seem like there may be more than one.

But earlier in the press conference they made it sound like nope, just this one guy and he's dead.

So...which is it? Do they even know? Are they trying to act like there are no others so that those who may be involved feel like they are in the clear and get sloppy or something?

Via wikipedia:

Open carry of firearms in Louisiana is permitted without a permit, as long as the user is of at least 17 years of age and legally able to possess a firearm under state and federal law. Louisiana has state preemption of firearms laws, except for local laws passed before July 15, 1985.

"In State v. Chandler, 5 La. Ann. 489, 490 (1850), the Louisiana Supreme Court held that citizens had a right to carry arms openly: 'This is the right guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States, and which is calculated to incite men to a manly and noble defense of themselves, if necessary, and of their country, without any tendency to secret advantages and unmanly assassinations.”

Some restrictions like on school grounds. Rifles and shotguns are both okay.

They have an open carry law in Louisiana, so if you have a permit for the gun then apparently you can stroll around with it.

3 are dead. 2 were from the local force, the other deceased was from the sheriff's office. 3 are injured/shot
