NEW: The FBI and New Orleans police no longer believe there are any other suspects involved in the New Year's truck attack, sources say.

I wonder if the people "planting" coolers were actually selling food or beverages illegally. Would explain a bit of stealth that would look very suspicious in light of the mass killing.

My theory is that the killer's association with ISIS will be brief and tenuous. I think he bought a flag and posted some things on his social media very recently, but we may find that he's never spoken to a member of the Islamic state or any other radical Islamist.

A map shows where the truck swerved around a police vehicle, travelling along Bourbon Street where 15 people were killed, before the truck crashed into a vehicle and the driver was shot dead. Dots along the street show where bollards to limit driving access were due to be replaced

An annotated map shows that the incident happened at 03:15 local time on Bourbon Street near Canal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans

Video shows the truck driving onto the pavement to get around a police car before hitting people

What video? I've been following and have not heard, suspects planting bombs were not true. Been watching numerous MSM since this happened.

Can you help with a link
Theres no link to the video. The media initially reported that there was a video of multiple suspects planting bombs. LE has since ruled all these people out as suspects

Moo...This event happened right in front of the hotel Georgia FB team, alumni and students were staying. They were evacuated for hours. (No link, several interviews on local channel 8 and CBS)

So sad.

I think it's a mistake to have the game today. I feel the teams are upset, parents, spectators, alumni and students attending the game are worried. They have to be this is a catastrophic event, mass casualty and the Governor thinks everyone should just go with the game.

I remember the Virginia Tech mass causality event. Students, parents and alumni were traumatized, severely upset, and classes were cancelled while we all mourned the loss.

Just my opinion and feeling great pain for the families

I am baffled that a person can spend so much time in the us military, then become radicalized.

But there was Major Nidal Hasan, Born in Virginia. 20+ years in military. Fort Hood massacre, 2009. He killed 13 people on base, wounded a bunch of others, but there had been warnings about him voiced earlier.

I'm particularly watching to see if the 2 attacks we're monitoring result in terrorism labels, or just a guy who kills a CEO while taking pains not to hurt anyone else gets that label.

"Controversially, the Army decided not to charge Hasan with terrorism"

Marsh's current husband Dwayne Marsh told The New York Times Jabbar had been acting erratically in recent months, 'being all crazy, cutting his hair.' Marsh said he and his wife stopped allowing Jabbar's two daughters to spend time with him as a result.

They were warned, as all police depts were warned.

....
In the weeks leading up to the holidays, federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies warned police around the country that low-tech vehicle-ramming was a key area of concern and that they needed to prepare.
On Dec. 6, the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and National Counterterrorism Center issued a joint intel bulletin warning law enforcement about the ongoing serious threat posed by lone offenders during the winter holiday season.
The bulletin noted that threat actors have "plotted and conducted attacks against holiday targets" in previous years, with likely targets including public places with "perceived lower levels of security" holding large gatherings or holiday events, and advised governments and law enforcement to "remain vigilant of these threats."

Well…..that’s the dumbest thing I may have ever heard.
Correct me if I heard this wrong, but at the press conference yesterday, were we not told that LE had found two confirmed IEDs that had been rendered safe, and may have found others that were not confirmed.
If you’ve got two devices disarmed, somebody put them there. Guy driving a big #ss truck with an ISIS flag on the back probably wasn’t stopping on street corners doing this.
So, either LE is making wild and inaccurate statements at a very serious moment, or LE is incapable of telling the difference between an IED and a bag of ice. That instills confidence doesn’t it.
This has happened a lot lately; big criminal something happens, others are involved, be on the lookout, red alert!, red alert!, oh never mind, just this one guy.
What exactly IS going on? Explain why you now believe no others are involved. Explain why you believed it earlier.
Maybe he got no help at the site of his actual attack, but he certainly got help planning and along the way, in my opinion.

According to this article, Jabbar was making $125,000 a year, yet he claimed he couldn’t pay his bills and was thousands of dollars in debt.
He lived in a shoddy house in a rundown neighborhood so he wasn’t spending money there.
So what was he spending his money on?

The statements throughout this case are erroneous and botched. First the FBI denies terrorism right after the attack happens. Some unfortunately elected official claims it was 'migrants'. Turns out no foreign terrorism, not a migrant, not working with others. And what about that guy who was arrested or the possible bombs?

It is like there is some major disbelief in public opinion that lone wolfs carry out attacks. IMO, I don't know if this stems from a Hollywood mindset that all criminals need to act a certain way; I suspect that may be part of it. There is also an impression that lone wolfs act like this or that, and then the suspect does not check all the assumption boxes and people are really shocked and can't make heads or tails of it.
