Someone from every piece of his life is blaming another faction for not helping him more today, for not seeing how a big, sweet kid from Christ the King High School in Queens -- who at 6-foot-11, with a Magic-like handle, was considered a New York schoolboy legend -- could descend into such an emotionally vacant place.

Sometimes it's unbelievable how much difference a day can make.

Lamar Odom woke from a coma on Friday morning and he continued to show signs of improvement on Saturday, although the 35-year-old athlete is not out of the woods.

E! News has exclusively learned that Odom passed a swallow test, a promising sign of neurological function and an important step because doctors took out his breathing tube and needed to ensure he could swallow on his own.

We've also learned that Odom was helped out of bed for the first time since being hospitalized Tuesday night. He was moved with assistance into a chair and his breathing showed no signs of distress. He continues to wear a mask to aid the flow of oxygen but he's breathing on his own.

Although he’s improved significantly, there was still major damage done to many of his organs (lungs, obviously), and kidney failure is a devastating prospect in the air right now. Lamar is currently on dialysis right now, however, he is also “neurologically intact” and is “100 perfect breathing” without the help of his ventilator.

Though it’s very possible for his condition to worsen post-coma, his doctors apparently feel good enough about his improvement that he could be moved out of the Intensive Care Unit on Sunday, October 18.

I want to say the 22nd.
But certainly a possible stressor.
Though also not the best time to be taking big risks like this...

Passing out in a whorehouse due to alleged drug overdose isn't going to be helpful if he was actually going to ask for custody.

The workers had to sign confidentiality statements. I doubt his plan was for the world to know. A lot of good the confidentiality statements were.

I hope that pimp loses his biz but the publicity of being a pimp to stars will only increase pathetic men to go there and bask in the same beauty and poetry of the house of paradise.
 
While I'm happy he's improving and seems to be making it.. It makes me upset because he's done drugs all his life.. He did this.. And he's alive.

My mom did none of that. Didn't smoke a day in her life and had COPD. My mom never drank or did drugs.. And SHE died at 60. Why is it possible for someone who has put drugs and god knows what else in his system for years and years is able to have a miracle recovery and my mom died?!

So happy to read good news. I just hope this is a wake up call for Lamar and he learns what is really important in life (his children, himself), and what is NOT (drugs, the K's, fame, etc). Lamar, invest your remaining money and enjoy raising your children and developing inner peace and love. That will bring you happiness.
