I noticed that Velma mentioned Karoline as if we should have some knowledge of her. The name is familiar but I can't place why we should know her. Was it in the texting while delivering the toolbox and moving the truck? I can't remember.

We don't know if that's true. we just know that's what CN and KS decided to tell Laura. they could have just been being mean girls.

Wow! Just caught up.

I am so saddened for Laura. Depressed, anxious, homeless, working as an escort. Her life was really starting to spiral out of control. Breaks my heart actually.

Although I do feel sad for Laura, and obviously nobody deserves to die, she was the architect of her own destiny. Seems the trail is littered with people that tried to help her. As someone who realized she had mental issues, choosing to do hard drugs was not not a good idea.

Her destiny as this trial is determining may not be of her design. I think I know what you are trying to say, but she didn't just die, she was murdered if the Crown proves their case.

She didn't deserve that. However, the way her life was going, chances are she wasn't going to live long anyway.

I'm not sure that I agree with that.

There's always the possibility of someone turning their life around, getting treatment, finding their way. Just because she was going down this treacherous path doesn't mean that wouldn't or couldn't change.

We will never know if this was possible because someone came along and killed her.

While I realize what you were trying to say - let's not put responsibility on the victim and do anything to take it away from those that hold the guilt here. I don't think that offers anything here.
I've also been hearing that she was getting help. We can easily see that drugs with a mental health issue is a bad idea. But if she had mental health issues, her decision making was compromised. If you know the pain of a mental illness, you might understand what some relief would mean if you found it by any means necessary. It's an illness, not a choice.
