Dear Kamille,

Thank you so much for the generosity of your time and your great compassion in posting all of the trial tweet updates.

You are a gem and greatly appreciated!

I feel so sad when I hear of people with mental health issues turning to drugs to ease their suffering.

It's evident through all of the posts from everyone on this thread that we all feel the same way.

You are all such compassionate and insightful folks.

If DM was just renting a gun why did he pay 2k for it? And back in February of 2012? 5 months ahead of time? So this guy kills LB in July 2012. His dad in November 2012. Tim in May 2013? Quite a schedule. I have a feeling the feb 2012 gun was used on someone else...

A deposit, maybe? I don't know how the black market for guns works. It does appear from the texts that MWJ was expecting to get the gun back. Maybe the idea was that he would resell it when Millard was done with it. He wrote to Millard that he could "change the print" if Millard brought it back "dirty".

[FONT="]One of London’s most perplexing missing persons cases appears to have been solved after 32-year-old Antonio Valentin Resendez Cortez was charged one count of second degree murder in the death of Vanessa Fotheringham.

Yes, but even he is missing. "Police say Fotheringham and Resendez Cortez were known to each other and while he has been charged, his current whereabouts are unknown and this remains an active investigation." (bbm)

In this possible twisted DM web--maybe DM shot both. Who knows? He did have a tie with London apparently taking LB to London to see SL when he was at school there. (speculating)

Jury is back at #Babcock trial, and Richard Marcovitch is back on the stand for cross examination by Dellen #Millard

This morning's first witness, Richard Marcovitch is back in the witness box. Because of scheduling issues earlier his cross-examination will happen now.

Dellen Millard is at the podium.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that, thanks! I edited my post to remove my theory about her.

"I like your theory. Police say Fotheringham and Resendez Cortez were known to each other and while he has been charged, his current whereabouts are unknown and this remains an active investigation."

One article says his name was on a couple of dating websites saying he was in Toronto another in Mexico. I can see DM doing a fake account for the guy to be cryptic. (IMO)

Babcock also talked about using marijuana once a day and purging a few times a week.
by Shannon Martin 12:40 PM

Crown Jill Cameron continues to read the lengthy admission. It will be entered in full as an exhibit.

The common themes: Babcock frequently thought about death, though she's very afraid of death, she feels misunderstood, and feels no one loves her. She has a history of depression

I think it's terrible they are sharing these private medical records publicly. Usually there are strict rules on that.

"Can we go back to that first meeting when you dropped Laura off on a date?" #Millard asks. Marcovitch says he wasn't a driver then.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews 24s25 seconds ago
Marcovitch says he worked the phones. "I'd drive somewhere if I had to," he says he'd tell Laura #Babcock where to go.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now30 seconds ago
Marcovitch isn't sure how much Laura #Babcock worked. They had 15-20 escorts working for them at the time. "They'd call and say I'm working"

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now1 minute ago
Marcovitch doesn't think #Babcock worked long. He remembers her because he brought her luggage and dog back to the office end of June.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now5 seconds ago
"She didn't work long, from the beginning of June until the 27th," Marcovitch tells Millard.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now31 seconds ago
Marcovitch was in the office when Laura #Babcock called needing a ride. "I might have seen her in the night, sent her here or there."

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now31 seconds ago
On June 27 he picked up Babcock from a hotel in Roncesvalles, all her belongings & her dog Lacey, took them back to escorting office.

Millard asks Marcovitch how many nights Babcock worked. He can't remember.

His boss earlier testified she worked twice for the company.
by Shannon Martin 2:08 PM

The judge asks the witness how many escorts would be working at any given time. Marcovitch says about 15.

"She didn't work long, from the beginning of June until the 27th," he says.

That was when he picked up Babcock from a hotel in Roncesvalles, along with all her belongings and her dog Lacey, and took her back to Last Minute Escorts office.

Marcovitch had been to the Days Inn (or Howard Johnson) many times before, he says. Shuttling escorts. #Babcock

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now28 seconds ago
He's been in the escort business 30 years, Marcovitch tells court. He's been to hotel but "not going to pick up luggage and a dog." #Babcock

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now54 seconds ago
Marcovitch was driving a rented silver Chrysler convertible that day. He opened an agency in Montreal when he was 19. He's now 52.

Maybe the idea was that he would resell it when Millard was done with it. He wrote to Millard that he could "change the print" if Millard brought it back "dirty".

I looked at your timeline, I think it's significant that the negotiations/purchase of the gun began in the week or two before the CN/LB text spat.

I don't believe DM bought the gun to kill Laura, I don't think he cared about her enough to kill her, until she betrayed him to CN. I think he may have bought it to kill his father, but then decided to kill someone else first. Or he may have had in mind lucrative Bosma-type murders, but needed to eliminate his father to be free to do that. I do believe he saw LB as an easy target for practise.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now51 seconds ago
Marcovitch didn't plan to get back into the escort business when he moved from Montreal to Toronto. Got accepted to university.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now1 minute ago
"The money is too good," Marcovitch explained. Says agency charges $200 and escorts made about $120 of that.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now1 minute ago
Millard asks about payment. Marcovitch says clients pay about $200, and the woman makes $120.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now37 seconds ago
It's the kind of business where clients would tip, Marcovitch agrees. He is not in the business no, "not right now." Still knows ppl.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now35 seconds ago
Sometimes escorts would move between Toronto and Montreal to work. "People come from anywhere," Marcovitch says.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now4 seconds ago
London, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, there are girls everywhere, Marcovitch says. Judge tells #Millard to get to the point.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now29 seconds ago
Millard asks if he ever worked with women from Montreal.

I think it's terrible they are sharing these private medical records publicly. Usually there are strict rules on that.

Good Point. Ontario has PHIPA to protect PHI (Personal Health Information). I wonder if she has been legally determined to be dead?

It really is unfortunate. I read the tweets after getting home yesterday to compare to what I heard in person. That is when I realized so much was left out. It spurred me to want to go and spend more time in person seeing this trial from the gallery.

I agree. In court DM was pushing the July 10 date but this was shot down as he was only addressing 1/2 of the police question which I believe was 'did he see her between July 1-10' and I don't believe that the witness said yes to that span between dates. Don"t quote me on the exact wording.

"They try to go to the competition to see if they can make extra money," Marcovitch says of escort travels.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now56 seconds ago
Justice Code to Millard, "This is really marginal, Mr. Millard, does it matter to this case if women come from Montreal to work here?"

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now29 seconds ago
Marcovitch doesn't remember Laura #Babcock talking about going to Montreal. #Millard has him reviewing a prior statement.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now11 seconds ago
Millard now asks if Babcock ever told Marcovitch about plans to go to Montreal.
He says no.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV now14 seconds ago
Millard now directs Marcovitch to his police statement.

Lisa Hepfner‏ @HefCHCHNews now17 seconds ago
Marcovitch remembers #Babcock texting about needing a place to stay. She and roommate Julia "had their falling out or whatever."
