The case of a missing Plainfield woman got a boost in cyberspace this week.

The FBI on Wednesday added pictures of Lisa Stebic and information about her disappearance to its kidnapped and missing persons Web site, www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/kidmiss.htm.

There was no significance of the day Stebic's case information was added to the site, said Ross Rice, special agent and spokesman for the Chicago FBI office.

"We've been providing cooperation and assistance to the Plainfield Police Department, and this is just one more thing we can do to help them hopefully solve this case," Rice said.

Search Extends To Michigan, Near Stebic Family Cabin

The search for a missing Plainfield woman is moving in a new direction.

Lisa Stebic hasn't been seen since April and now, as CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports, billboards will soon go up near the Stebic family cabin in Michigan.

"As time goes on, you know, it becomes more apparent, it sinks in that Lisa's not coming back," said Lisa Stebic's cousin Melanie Greenberg.

More than five months after Lisa Stebic was reported missing, her family has come to the realization that she is likely dead.

"I have hope that we will find her," said Melanie Greenberg, Lisa Stebic's cousin and a family spokeswoman. "But hope that she's alive? Even though it's hard, I think she is gone. And I think most of the family have come to feel that.

"It's very difficult knowing that she's out there somewhere but that we cannot put her to rest as we need to do," she said.

Greenberg on Thursday toned down her public support of Lisa Stebic's husband, Craig, saying "no comment" when asked if she thought he had something to do with his wife's disappearance. Greenberg added that she was not speaking for the whole family.

New billboards similar to the ones posted this summer in the Joliet and Chicago area will go up the week of Oct. 22 in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where the Stebic family often hunts each fall.

"I haven't lost hope that we'll find her, because as the seasons are changing, leaves are falling. Things may be revealed that were hidden in dense foliage," Greenberg said. "You do have hunters going out this fall in places and on private land where maybe no one had been all summer. Maybe they will see something now that leaves are falling and bushes and trees will be bare."

On Tuesday, her family will hold a prayer vigil at the park near her house to mark the six-month anniversary of her disappearance.

Family of Missing Illinois Woman Lisa Stebic Say Her Husband Cut Communication to Family

PLAINFIELD, Ill. — Family members of Lisa Stebic say her estranged husband, who has been named by police as a person of interest in her disappearance six months ago, has cut off all communication between his children and his wife's sisters.

Stebic had barred his wife's parents from the couple's Plainfield home and had not allowed his wife or their children, ages 11 and 12, to speak to them for the last two years, Greenberg said Monday. She did not explain why.

Reportedly irritated by the proliferation of fliers, posters and billboards featuring his missing wife's face, Craig Stebic has barred his sisters-in-law from any contact with their niece and nephew, the aunts said.

Tonight, at a public prayer vigil to mark the six-month anniversary of Lisa's disappearance, Ruttenberg plans to read a statement regarding Stebic's purported decision.

The vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m. at a gazebo near the Stebic house, at Red Star and Blakely drives.

The gazebo around the corner from Lisa Stebic's house was surrounded by luminaries and draped with tulle.

A crowd huddled around it, most holding candles, to commemorate the six-month anniversary of Stebic's disappearance Tuesday night.

During the vigil for his missing wife, the Stebic house on Red Star Drive was dark, inside and out. Craig Stebic's father, Joe Stebic, said Craig gets up at 4 a.m. for work and was in bed.

"Yeah, we know about it," he said when asked about the vigil. "But why would we go over there with all the negative (expletive) that's been going on? I don't think you would go over there either if it was you."

Estranged Husband Of Missing Woman Lisa Stebic Was Previously Uncooperative With Police, Would Not Let Them Interview Couple's Children

CHICAGO (CBS) ― CBS 2 news partner the Naperville Sun reports Wednesday night that Craig Stebic, estranged husband of missing Plainfield mother Lisa Stebic, and the couple's two children appeared before a Will County grand jury Wednesday at the county courthouse. Authorities had been trying to interview the children for months.

Authorities confirmed on Thursday that the children of a missing Plainfield woman have testified before a grand jury.

NBC5's Anthony Ponce reported that Lisa Stebic's children, who are 11 years old and 12 years old, testified before the grand jury at the Will County Courthouse on Wednesday.

"I can't say what the children stated before the grand jury," said Detective Sgt. Troy Kivisto of the Plainfield Police Department. "However, I can say that they were cooperative and they were upbeat, and they didn't show any signs of emotional -- they weren't distraught at all."

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (CBS) ― The search for Lisa Stebic, the Plainfield mother who has now been missing for more than six months, will move to Michigan's Upper Peninsula on Wednesday.

Stebic's family plans to give hunters in the area special handwarmers. They have a picture of Stebic, as well as information about the tipline and the $72,000 reward.

The family of Lisa Stebic's estranged husband Craig has a cabin in Crystal Falls, in Iron County, Mich.

"Everything people tell you when you're looking for someone who is missing – you look at the places they normally went, and this is some place that she frequently went," said Lisa Stebic's cousin, Melanie Greenberg.

Stebic's family also plans to put up three billboards in and around the city of Iron Mountain, in another attempt to get the attention of hunters.

Since Lisa Stebic disappeared April 30 from her Plainfield home, her husband's family has not been nearly as vocal as her own.

But Craig Stebic's sister Kim Dove spoke out in an e-mail to The Herald News this week, saying she's afraid the worst has happened to Lisa -- and that her brother has been unfairly hounded by the press.

"I pray for a good outcome but fear that it has gone too long for that to be. I don't know what has happened or what will be but I do know my brother and I know that this is really hard on him," she wrote. "I can only imagine how I would feel if I was a victim of the media for no reason except that they need to make news."

For months now, Lisa Stebic's family has wanted to hear what her two children have to say about their mother's April 30 disappearance.

Now it appears a grand jury will determine if the family ever hears their stories.

Although Dion Davi, Craig Stebic's attorney, said he was "not at liberty to speak about any possible grand jury proceedings," Craig and his two children, ages 11 and 12, reportedly testified recently before a Will County grand jury.
