guess it would depend on how much you are use to drinking. I have been drunk as a skunk in my 20's and I never recall blacking out, just a dish rag before I fell alseep and whether or not I was drinking I use to sleep like a rock, age has fixed that LOL so it would depend. Not enough info IMO to make any decisions. I know the stats dont look good but those witnesses will make excellent defense material if and when any trial happens unless more evidence is brought forth. You can bet those witnesses are reasonable doubt material for a defense.

On a serious note, I'm wondering if anyone spiked her drinks. Who was she drinking with?

What I don't get is either you blacked out or you didn't. How do you NOT KNOW if you blacked out or not? Do you remember anything you did? Well, then, if you don't - then you blacked out.

Why does DB make it harder than it has to be?

Because she's juggling with a double edged sword. On the one hand, admitting you blacked out explains why you can't keep your facts straight. On the other hand, if you blacked out, how do you KNOW you didn't hurt your child?

She never really said yes or no. she sort of inferred it was possible, leaving MK and every other TH to take it and run with it.

She screwed up though by inferring that she was so drunk she couldn't hear anything, yet insisting the boys know nothing about what happened that night and insisting that no one could have gotten in.

How much you drink depends on how fast you drink it too. One can "drink" all day long and never get falling down drunk. But if one "chugs" beer after beer after beer - pretty good chance one isn't gonna be walking too straight.

Kimster, I'm with you - if I'm just sitting around drinking after 2 or 3, I just get sleepy and go take a nap. But, on Thursdays when we go to horseshoes - I drink more, because we're out and playing and with a big group of people. On any given Thursday, I'll drink 4 - 5 beers between the hours of 5:30 and 11 and never get "drunk". I only get drunk if I start with the tequilla shots once we go inside (which isn't very frequent).

Clear as mud?

DB speaks like an alcoholic. She thinks that everyone who drinks does the same thing she does. She is not concerned about her behavior whatsoever. In fact, she is rather nonchalant about it. She could have blacked out. If she did, she most likely remembers some pieces of it...but is not able to know what happened. People have driven their cars and wound up in places and have no idea of driving there. Did she harm the baby during this blackout?

All signs point to a high probability that she is a heavy drinker.

I did!

He said the code between them was if the lights are out - then they are sleeping don't bother them. Made no sense if you ask me - kinda like a "duh" statement. But interesting that he brought up a "code" between DB and this drinking buddy neighbor.

After two, I'm ready for bed. Wine puts me to sleep. (As does all alcohol!) I'm sure it affects people in different ways, though.

Alcohol is alcohol, isn't it?

I can drink wine (not out of a box) or beer, give me any other "alcohol" and I am toast. It's not a pretty sight. :sick:

I think it all depends on how fast you drink, if you have eaten, your personal tolerance, mood and body weight. Empty stomach, smashed after not much. With/after food not so much, unless drinking alcohol like water. If she had 5 (5 oz) glasses over 5 hours and ate supper, it really shouldn't have made her drunk, imo. If it was 5 BIG glasses over that time, drunk but not completely out of it. If she is, in fact, on meds for anxiety/depression-maybe she could have blacked out. But I knew someone on meds who (I found out after years of being around her) was on meds and drinking all the time. And it took me a long time to figure it out. After which I was horrified because both my kids had been at her house and driven around by her.
