Oh there's a repetition of behaviour all right. LM taunts, provokes and then does something illegal. He gets caught and people are looking for him to hold him accountable. He flees and runs to the nearest hospital, police officer or lawyer with psychotic symptoms. Claims people are after him (they are) and he's being abused (he's not) He either somehow gets lost in the system and gets away with it, or he is found and put on trial. When that happens, he blames his mental illness and has all the reports to back him up. What I don't see is any reports about him being ill at the time he's taunting, provoking and then committing the crime.

Psychosis does generally tend to do that; however, his seems to come and go depending on whether or not he is in trouble.
Most of the time in between these periods, he seems like a classic case of BPD. Seeking attention, sometimes negatively, and reacting BIG and exaggerating, etc.
Basically, the consequences of his actions appears to bring on the psychosis most of the time.

I'm really at a loss with this one. One side of me wants to think this guy is, and has always been off his rocker. On the other hand, I can see Magnotta making the hospital visits just as a means to have his welfare benefits extended. He never seems to have ever had a real job! I believe it was mentioned that he was on public assistance? Could this just be a case of a guy with too much time on his hands going to a dark place via the internet, then turning it to reality? I often wonder about those sick sites that he posted the video to. Chances are that he just didn't stumble across them. So what was he doing there, and what was he watching? Obviously Manny wasn't there to tell him about those sites! My gut tells me this guy has always had a fascination with the macabre and that he is not as sick as he has led us to believe.
