Her disappearance seems open to several possibilities. I do wonder if husband and wife were both schemers (for lack of a better word). I figure we'll find out more soon.
I certainly think it's a possibility. Is there another (criminal) shoe about to drop?

About the only thing I'm pretty sure didn't happen is that she didn't have to rush off to D.C. and wasn't kidnapped by an Uber driver.

I really hope for her children's sake she is okay. I am sure law enforcement has done this, but I wonder if they are also searching manifests using her prior name (Ana Knipp--listed on the fed affidavit linked a few pages back-- think she was married before?) or her maiden name, which is something else (since it's not public yet I won't post it, but it starts with L and is definitely a Serbian/Croatian name, found on radaris).

Also, if she did leave voluntarily, she seems intelligent enough to get another phone/CC's. I really can't tell if this is going to be a Gone Girl situation or a Murdaugh one. In the alternative both Ana and Brian could be in on it-- she disappears, probably with some funds the feds dont know about yet, and then he can try to get out of jailtime to take care of the kids.

ETA it doesn't seem weird to me to have a NYE party before traveling early-- my friends with young kids tend to celebrate "fake midnight" early so they can get the kids to bed at a normal time, and then they themselves pass out at 10 PM lol.

From what I remember LE was not expected back at the house today unless there was new information - so now that they are back there it seems maybe LE garnered some info in DC ? With the children leaving the house that may be bc LE are using luminol etc inside the house to determine if a crime was committed inside the house? And perhpaps LE is doing a much more thorough search of the home looking for any sign of Ana.
Transferring the case to the DA seems to indicate that they now believe a crime may have been committed ?
Hard to know - Just IMO

Could someone please confirm that her phone was off? I read it somewhere.

Nobody leaves for the airport/a work trip with their phone off. You can't even get your ride without your phone.

Phone off indicates, to me, captain obvious:

1) she didn't want to be found, left it off (or turned it off) to disappear
2) someone made her turn it off
3) someone turned it off after harming her
4?) what if she had a burner phone that she was using instead? -- sheer speculation

As a side note, for the mother of 3 very young children and a felon of a spouse, she looks smiley, put together, and attractive in photos. Combined with the constant work travel and questionable husband at home, I'd put money on a boyfriend/second life in DC that gave her that twinkle in her eye in many selfies. MOO.

I really hope she's OK, but draining the pool admittedly freaked me out.
I feel very sure she had more than the ONE phone. ESPECIALLY in her business. She may also have had the private burner phone as well.. her lifestyle was a whirlwind and meetings and connecting outside her local home with children on weekends this past year.

I'm not so sure I'd read much into the "condition" of the rental. I'd imagine the owner is responsible for the maintenance (re: pool) and I do think some of those pictures looked worse given it's winter and has been windy/rainy/cloudy etc. recently.

But, it does seem like there are indications this is a family that was stretched financially.
Well, in photos of the children playing in what appears to be the living room it looks undecorated and sparsely furnished, so yeah, stretched might be one way to look at it. Haven't they lived there since spring 2022?

My hinky meter has been up since I looked at her Instagram & his documented criminal history.

YMMV but I am not convinced anything we have publicly available to us does anything but create a lot of legitimate questions with no clear answers.

I called it a professional hit early on & haven't changed my mind. Yet.

Only my opinion & speculation

I think this has been posted already but I'm re-posting because it's a great summary article that was updated as recently as 2:03 PM EST Jan 8, 2023. I keep finding myself referring to it for something or other...!

I considered a professional hit early on, as either a retaliation by a victim of fraud, or arranged by someone close to her for self protection.

However, how could such have taken place? We now know that Ana was home New Year's eve and that no one besides family was at or near the home in the early hours of Jan 1, nor that a vehicle was seen picking her up.
IF it was a hit by a third party, I doubt it would have happened in the home.

The Gone Girl situation would have been my guess if the police weren't so intent on searching the woods, pool, etc. They seem to be working on a different assumption.

re in-ground pools in MA. We were told by our home inspectors in MA that the house can be considered one side of the pool "fencing" and if the other three sides were also enclosed by 6 ft fencing, that was adequate to stay within the law. The fencing could be chain link or stockade as long as it was 6 ft.. ...imo...hope that is clear. That was years ago
Would you have to have a safety latch or alarm on the door from the home that was a 'fence side' leading to the pool?

Fox News Digital obtained exclusive images showing a man who appears to be Walshe's husband, Brian Walshe, at the scene. He drives a red Volkswagen away from the home.

Three children were seen being transported in a separate vehicle, a gray Volvo, by who are believed to be friends or relatives, away from the home, Fox News Digital can report. Law enforcement appeared to have moved the family from the house to investigate its contents.

Removing the kids is not the typical move for a woman missing, but a very typical move for a woman missing feared to be so under suspect circumstances.

I expect an arrest shortly.

I think this is interesting information to collate:

from State Police stop ground search for missing Cohasset mother Ana Walshe

That's when a relative saw Walshe leave her home in Cohasset around 4 a.m. to take a ride share to Logan Airport in Boston for a flight to Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. Her husband was sleeping when she left, the chief said, adding she was presumably called to a work emergency in DC.

from Here's what we know in case of missing Mass. woman Ana Walshe

According to Quigley, a family member told police that they last saw Walshe at her Cohasset home between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on New Year's Day.

"She does work in D.C. and it's not abnormal for her to work long hours and not contact the home," Quigley said.

The family member further told Cohasset police that Walshe was taking a rideshare from her home to Boston Logan International Airport in an attempt to catch an early flight to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Jan. 1.

"It's been reported that she was called to D.C. to handle some type of emergency at one of the properties that she manages. That's why she was attempting to go to D.C. (on New Year's Day)," Quigley said.

Perhaps poor reporting, but they conflict a little. In both, a "relative" (not her husband) sees her leave at 4am and that she was "presumably called" to work for an emergency - not confirming that a call had actually occurred. The latter article, in contrast, has a lot of details "she left that morning to go [wherever] via [transporation] because of [reason]" from the "family member," not mentioning her husband specifically.

I am really curious when Ana was last seen by anyone outside of her house. I saw an article earlier today that she had a friend who spoke with her around the 27th and then her messages got a little odd after. I'll try to find and edit a link back here, but I'm worried that Ana may not have made it even to NYE.

Video at link.
I was just watching this and I noticed - through the trees - the little ones being escorted out and it made me so sad. I wonder how much they know about what is going on, why mommy hasn't called, and why they are having to leave their home. :(
