Whew, Floridian...that's eerie the way they resemble. Baby Doe's Doppleganger. That's the closest match to a face that I've seen. Kids look alike though. It might mean nothing. We'll see. Thank goodness for DNA, right???! Sets people apart. :websleuther:

Well, while we wait the 15 days on possibly the best lead so far (I'm not convinced she is Emili, but they do look similar), here is a comparison of a photo of Emili (though she looks younger in this picture, it was just a good straight-on one to use, and our girl. Keep in mind that because the head alignment/direction/etc isn't perfect, and Emili was obviously much younger in the pictures I used, some things don't align perfectly, but I have to say that the nose shape matches very well and all of the features are pretty close... the eyebrow placement matches and the forehead shape is the same

I'm sure it is here on this thread, but what exactly were the circumstances for Emili, again? Most info about her is not in English. She was abducted by her father? And he was found dead later on? Suicide/murder? Was he the custodial parent, was he married/divorced/neither to Emili's mom?

Thanks in advance if you have that info handy!

Her father had supervised visits with Emili. He was visiting at their house and took off with her. He was found a couple days later dead burnt in his car. Apparently he was shot in the chest and arm. 2 teens burnt his car but did not kill him. His body was too damaged to determine if it was murder or suicide.

Thanks but yikes. Shot in the arm and chest doesn't sound like suicide IMO. And without knowing more, I'd bet anything that those teens were paid to burn the car, if they truly didn't kill him. Poor Emili, wherever she is.

re: only drinking bottled water from a certain area.. what about showering? how many ppl use bottled water to bathe in? id think that bathing would cause local isotopes to get on you somehow.

If I'm reading the science articles correctly, you have to either ingest it or breathe it in. But they don't specifically mention other pathways. I suppose the amount you'd absorb through your skin is probably minimal anyway.

I'm from Peabody, Massachusetts and I've lived here all my life. Never once have I ever seen gypsies in New England lol. My family is Greek and we travel to Greece yearly and they're all over the place in Eastern Europe, but again I've never seen any on the north or south shores, in Boston proper, or even out in the Berkshires.

For what it's worth, I went to a relative's house and noticed a picture of their daughter taken at a studio. I could have sworn that they took a copy of my own picture of my child in them same dress, LOL.
It was kind of comical, but after I contemplated that for a while I remembered how in Pre-K and kindergarten so many of the kids looked so similar even from different nationalities. It's uncanny when you actually look at it. I think that is why this case got stumped. She looks like any other girl.

"One hundred fifty young girls have been ruled out since the June 25 discovery, in a search spanning 36 states and several countries. Most of the girls were found alive and well across the United States and in countries including Mexico, Trinidad, Peru, Puerto Rico, and India, while two other leads concerning girls from France and Brazil have not yet been ruled out, said State Police spokesman David Procopio."

150 kids in 36 states and several countries. WOW

I see people here bashing Law Enforcement because they have not provided the details that would entertain or satisfy the salacious appetites of us so-called-sleuthers, on the pretense that we care too. I will say this;
How would knowing if she suffocated help the general public identify her? " Oh she suffocated? That would be baby Jane" no.

IMO I feel that LE and the researchers have gone beyond the pale in this case. I think they have done an outstanding job and I applaud them for their efforts and I have no doubt that everyone involved in solving this case is as compassionate and dedicated to solving this as everyone here on WS.

Ya made me chuckle. I didn't want to address the issue having lived here for 60 years, but I am wondering, when did they change from horse drawn carts to pick-up trucks? I missed that transition. OH I know! because we don't have that population here! LOL Well we do have roofing and driveway scam people but in my experience they are a different nationality.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Oh Let me ask you Greek person. can I put Kalamata olives in an Italian marinade? Or are you gonna yell at me, LOL..

i said that a LONG time ago but someone else said "oh nothing wild about that, i have that same blanket." i tend to think more young or outgoing ppl favor animal prints and stuff like that. not always but often.

I'm thinking the caregiver is a female and also on the young side. The pants and blanket are very matchy-matchy. B&W. Younger parents tend to purchase more wild prints. I was thinking about this yesterday how my younger friends buy things like that but the older ones tend to go more solid or floral print. Just a thought.

i think the composite of baby doe looks a lot like many girls.

Uncanny how much these two favor each other. She has baby doe's face with lighter hair. I read they got DNA from Emili's mother to test but did they ever release the results? Did I overlook any results?

I am a younger mother and hate animal print! HOWEVER, my daughter loves it and always has, so her grandmother bought her that blanket (literally the exact one). It is a very cheap blanket, like one of those $5 ones that comes rolled up in places like walmart/kmart, and are usually located near the checkout aisles.

But I agree, younger parents tend to like things like animal prints, pierced ears on babies/toddlers, etc. (not saying anything bad, just what I've observed)

I agree, the age of the parent is hard to judge by what the girl was wearing. I'm an "older mom" and I actually bought the exact same blanket at walmart for $3.88 in November for our dog. I'm not wild nor do I buy animal prints, I just bought one in each color, zebra, pink, and camo (also not a hunter).

I have friends of various ages who have pierced their daughters so again I don't think it tells us much about the mom's age or even economic level.

I don't always love the things my boys want to wear (mostly some crazy sneaker styles) but that is their style and so be it.

there is exceptions to every rule but for the most part the highest concentration of ppl who dress their children in that stuff are usually younger. not all, but a large amount.

Not sure this makes any difference but it's likely Geranimals brand then, by the price. I have a toddler and when I buy Geranimals it's almost always priced ending in .88

Geranimals is exclusive to Walmart.

I 100% respectfully disagree. My children's grandmother would buy them something "young". Sometimes she finds even cooler stuff because she shops out of love not necessity.
