3 jurors being talked to at sidebar before closings get underway, kinda worrisome. Now a 4th, possibly all of them for some reason.

wasn't it the Chalue jury that came back with a decision but when polled one of them had second thoughts and said No and they had to re-deliberate? Unless I'm misremembering it seems like that's when I first heard of this whole case.

Good morning, yes that's correct.

'Morning Esse, and thanks, I'll be reading through the blog of his trial after I finish Hall's.

Best quote so far from closings (Reardon, defense):

"You're going to start a conspiracy is this the face you use for your conspiracy, Reardon said pointing to Veiovis."

Capeless:

"All of the testimony about Hall set the stage for what Veiovis' was well aware of and encouraged. A plan Veiovis joined."

Maybe I was absent that day but I don't recall any testimony or evidence of that.

Closing arguments complete, judge takes the morning recess before instructing the jury on the law.

That's funny!

**could have sworn I replied to a different post, but it's gone now.

One thing that Reardon said,
"Caius Vieovis is not focused on Hall and his guns on the Saturday. He was concerned with being upstairs with Sewell. Would he ask her to spend the night if he was planning to kill people that night?"

This was a powerful question. To me, it proves that V had no plan to meet-up with Hall and Chalue the night of the killings. Since she refused, did he then decide to go with them? His girlfriend tried to call him and it went to voicemail, but he could have been sleeping.

This is a tough case to decide and I still don't know. The jury will have to sort it out, not going to be easy.

I agree, it makes no sense to invite a girl over to sleep with when planning a triple murder. I kind of wish V had testified to clarify his reasons for being around Hall at all, was it just because he was a Hell's Angel biggie and V hoped to one day get in, or was it for the work on Hall's house, so he could make extra money?

I think you're right the jury will have to struggle over it but the planting of the magazine and the 'partner' statement that wasn't in any police report until trial began leave me quite suspicious that LE was trying to tie V to it all without any sort of proof other than his looks and guilt by association (and not planning or involvement).

I'd vote Not Guilty.

So would I.
Me, too. I'm late to the coverage this morning, going to catch up in a bit.
geevee, that was my plan too - to read the live blog coverage of Hall and Chalue's trials next. I'm quite impressed with this blogger - she does an amazing job.

She sure does, kinda funny her name is Buffy and we have a vampirish kinda guy on trial. lol

I read through the other two trial blogs over the weekend, the same thing happened in one of the others, most jurors brought up to the bench for a Q&A but none replaced with an alternate.

Only two things (that I can recall) that stood out to me having read all of the blogs now:

In one trial (believe it was Chalue's) one of the women said all three men were 'wet and tired' the morning after, in the other two trials only Hall was described as wet (and only by the convenience store clerk, iirc), I would have thought that would be incriminating esp. for Veovis, so why wasn't the 'wet' part brought out in his trial?

The stop at the convenience store - why buy 3 of the same candy bar, a pack of smokes that were Chalue's brand, and then the return trip inside to get a pack of V's preferred cigars? Was that Hall's way of setting the other two up? Or were the other two with him? Why stop at all in the condition he was in, after what he had just done, for candy at 5 in the morning?

Good questions, geevee.
I believe it was only O. Sutton that claimed that all 3 were wet.
Only Hall was seen wet, but it was pouring out that morning because of the hurricane. I don't know why the DA thought it mattered.

Regarding the convenience store, I think he wanted to be seen and remembered there and he made sure of it by going back into the store a second time, but I can't think of any reason why... that store is not very far from where the 3 men were kidnapped, infact it's walking distance.

I guess only Hall could answer that.

From the beginning of this trial, I have been considering that Hall could have set up V and I still think it's quite possible that he did exactly that.

Same here Esse, V just 'looks' the part and Hall was not against setting someone up, he actually seemed to take great pleasure in putting together plots to set Glasser up so I wouldn't put it past him at all.

I wonder if the jury does find V not guilty, if he'll change his looks to something more normal (or at least unrecognizable from his appearance since this all began) and try to put it all behind him. Or would he enjoy the notoriety of 'See? You can look like me and not be a triple murderer'...thoughts to ponder while the jury works it out.

One thing I would very much like to know is how his name is pronounced...is it Chaos Vee-o-vee-is? Or Cay-is Vee-o-vay-ous? Case Vay-o-vis? I'm really curious.
