It was the Unsub who treated VM inhumanely. My interest is in determining who the killer is. Figure out his MO and it is one step closer to knowing who was capable of committing this horrific crime to Vanessa.

It makes no sense to me to burn a hand, then burn another hand, burn a foot then another foot and then her hair. It makes more sense if this burning was done all at once.

Kidnapping white women, torturing them, cutting their hair and branding them has been occurring with great frequency over the past five years.

I don't disagree with you, but the fact remains we aren't privy to the gym shoe detective work, we are limited to a few facts and our own experiences.

Websleuths is in part to slug through various theories and try to piece things together as best we can.

ThinkHard - I was thinking the same.

It's certainly an exercise in patience, waiting for news of any progress in a case. So far the only assistance requested by LE is for any eyewitnesses who saw a dark colored SUV type vehicle in the area or on that very street within a 2 hr window to come forward or for any eyewitnesses who may have seen VM at or near that spot.

Obviously, if someone involved has spilled the beans to someone else, it would break the case wide open if that person would submit that info to LE either anonymously or directly.

This is the hardest part of following a case, IMO...the waiting. And then the next hardest part is waiting for litigation (trial or confession & a final resolution). I hope LE is at least able to get the perp off the streets once and for all.

That's no actually what LE said when they asked for info on a dark SUV. Here is the direct quote

"Prosecutors said detectives “welcome any and all information about men who had access to a dark-colored SUV on Aug. 7 and were in or around Princeton.”

So they want to know anyone local to the Princeton area who not just owned but rather who would have even had access to one that day.

It doesn't say they are focused on a dark SUV seen during a specific window or even in that specific area....it reads to me that they want to know any local male who would be relatively local and would have had access to that type of vehicle that day.

Sounds to me like they know for sure about a certain vehicle but perhaps not who was driving it.

Carter and Stevens Farm has the highest elevation of acres of farm pastures in the state of Massachusetts. We maximize our land use by putting our cows on land that is too rocky or steep to be cultivated. Not only do our milking cows get to enjoy the fresh air and green grass, but we also raise our heifers in pastures as well. And of course, all our grass-fed beef cows are pasture-based.

Cornerstone is a new facility, and will continue to be a work in process (labor of love) for quite some time. The land was purchased to build the site in the fall of 2000. Much work has been accomplished including a new barn, run-in sheds, a grazing pasture, riding ring and a brand new indoor riding arena.

I never said their weren't cow farms, there is one at the end of my road and as it is we only get our grass fed beef from Rota Springs in Sterling. We use to have a buffalo farm and ostrich farm in Rutland too and a beefalo farm in Paxton.

But that's different then cowboy culture and hog tieing that goes along with southwest type cowboy culture.

There are many scenarios that could be with this case, and very little known. In my opinion I think sometimes people are too quick to shut out others ideas - when so much is possible with all this. Also, pushing one particular theory all the time as if that is the only one, isn't helpful either. There are just too many things that could have happened and minimal facts known. We know they believe the person is familiar with the area she was found and belief he knows the geographical area from living there or visiting there. But this does not tell people, the age, or whether the person knew her or not. Whether he saw her running by frequently, whether he knew her through activities, whether he is single, married or whatever. What we do know is this is was a horrific crime by someone very sick and brave enough to do this in broad daylight and clearly a risk to the community. He needs to be caught.

Regarding the theory about the married man - my final statement on this - I'm not saying this sort of thing hasn't happened. Chandra Levy is a perfect example (though again, whether Condit was involved in Levy's death is unknown). I'm simply saying 1) if there is such a link, police almost certainly know about it by now; 2) based on available facts, it seems unlikely; and 3) even if such a link does exist, that does not mean that person had any role in Vanessa's death.

The best evidence I think we have is the crime scene itself. Some of those pictures give at least an idea of what happened and can tell investigators some important things. Those things may lead them and profilers to pinpoint certain traits about her killer, such as signature, preferred method of attack, level of planning and so on.

Totally agree, DeDee. Bondage, S &M and other *advertiser censored* that objectifies/tortures/kills women has gone mainstream and is everywhere on the internet, not just the dark web. It's got nothing to do with a specific area these days. That may well have played role in this crime.

There are no facts to know either way.

Not that this is the case, but an example of one case is the BTK killer case - he was a married man hiding right in the community - serial killer who no-one suspected for years.

I'm still wondering about the picture of the woman with a black eye drinking coffee who you said was VM? What's with that?!!

Which news articles? I haven't seen it once in any of them, and it doesn't come up in image searches either....

So can you please be more specific.

I have a photographic memory and I would have absolutely remembered seeing it prior, so I'm genuinely curious where it came from? Especially since her IG account went offline within days of her murder.

I tried to google it, I cannot find it, so I am simply asking for a source, as had others. <mod snip> Thanks in advance.

I notice many all share one common factor. Revenge or felt the victims stole drug money or snitched on them. (Except the Neo-Nazi hate crime.)

Interesting...you made me think of something...when I was scrolling through old police logs I notice a drug arrest on BSR. Perhaps VM had witnessed and reported something weeks earlier on a run.

There could also a sadist sex crime element angle. But their does seem to be a branding/burning. torturing theme in the drug/snitch revenge crimes.

Well then, bring it up and Link it. And why would you have shown that photo anyway?

No we don't, LOL We do have dairy farmers but I have not seen any rodeo clowns here. Some of us DO like the music though!
Like Boot Scootin' Boogie. Just sayin.
