I'm not surprised there hasn't been an arrest as I believe this is very likely someone Vanessa did not know and stranger crimes are harder to solve. But I do believe this predator left too much evidence behind and one day he'll slip up somewhere else and prints or DNA will tie him to this murder. He just needs to keep running and looking over his shoulder.

I did a google search, but didn't find where we can look to see if he has a record. Has anyone else been able to find anything?
 
This is a great day.
I find it odd that he is not being charged with Murder as of yet.
Aggravated assault, and Assault with intent to rape.

It is nice to see the State Police Officer was alert, and wrote down his plate number.
Overall Great work from LE.
With so little to go on, I must admit that there were times I had my doubts that this man would be caught, and I am glad I was wrong.

I found his Facebook profile. Since we don't have a pic from the police, though, I should probably not link it, right? Just to make sure? If you search his first and last-last name and "worcester" under "people" on Facebook, it should take you to it. Facebook friends who have his second-last name.

The one with family photo as cover photo? I don't think that's him. LE needed a translator. That profile seems like he knows English.

Yeah, he definitely knows English. Hmm. If the perp needed a translator, I think you must be right.
 
He does not have a criminal record that authorities know of at this time, Early said. Authorities said they do not know for sure that he is a U.S. citizen.

“We don’t know that, at this point,” Early said when asked if Colon-Ortiz is a U.S. citizen. “The information we have, I can’t make a statement in regards to that at this point.”

I have found an Angelo Colon, age 31, from another city in MA. (Western part of state...Worcester in considered Central) Just because he is currently in Worcester does not mean it's his permanent address. I have been searching high and low and this is the closest I have found. Of course, I can't list anything since we have no idea who the guy is. I also cannot find a pic.

Well, LE did it. They never gave up, even when countless people accused them of doing just that. I noted their pointed comments about that, a 'shout out' to all the doubters. And how fitting it was a LE officer who was eagle-eyed and right there to see someone matching the description and driving a vehicle fitting that description. Cases like these are solved by local professionals, with a whole lot of gumshoe work. They knew th perp was Hhispanic from the beginning (mentioned in the presser). Way to go!

It wasn't a secret boyfriend, not someone she worked with, not someone from NYC, not someone connected with Katrina Vetrano. It was exactly like how most of these cases go -- a random monster who saw her, saw his opportunity, and took it. It wasn't 2 people, with 1 hanging out by the SUV, watching the road and waiting to take his turn.

So relieved and so happy for all the LE professionals who dedicated month after month working the case to get this monster.
 
Law enforcement, Vanessa's family & friends, the DA's office, the public, and the media all deserve praise for not letting this case go cold and continually pursuing leads!

Agreed, outstanding work by Massachusetts State Police, Princeton and Worcester Police Departments. A good outcome from solid detective and forensic work.
