Spokesman CM stated that the 9 adults were dining "without watches on, without mobile phones". If he is correct, there must have been two mobile phones left in the apartment 5A, and maybe two watches also?

We need to remember that CM is no longer spokesman for the McCanns! Why? Could it be that K&G have discovered that spokesperson knew all about Scotland Yard becoming aware of CBs possible involvement in 2013 and disclosed nothing to them or is there even more to it than that? I dunno.... but I’m still sceptical as to why the McCanns made the statement in regards to no longer having a spokesperson or a lawyer on their payroll? Do K& G feel betrayed by Them? Or are they no longer needed...case solved? I dunno, All part of the puzzle I guess. Hopefully time will tell.

I think he probably knew her name prior to entering her apartment at an earlier date, I think they could have crossed paths before even if only briefly but it is just a hunch.

I posted before that a front door exit from apt. 5a was the most likely and that the Smithman sighting was the most credible - right time, right place and four adults.

From the Smith family statements in the PJ files it is clear that the sighting was on the R. da Escola Primaria but it is hard to say where on this it occurred.

This exit path is quite logical for a planned abduction - quiet back streets. Providing a safe location like a vehicle or property was fairly quickly obtained.

No. 4 R. 25 da Abril, SM’s address is consistent with this thinking - the route is shown below and the apt. is circled.

I seem to recall that the Smith family did not report their sighting immediately. It would be interesting to know if SM was a suspect prior to the Smith family reporting its sighting.

Not worth building a whole theory around it imo. (Could well be deflection re; NF)
Shame we couldn't see Court records for CB's drugs bust if only to ascertain how much he was carrying.

Anyone building a theory around DF's statement would be crazy. The initial post about CB and his drugs connections only has DF in it because he was one of the surprisingly very few 'mentions' of drugs in the whole CB timeline and is just hearsay, as are MT's, LS's and AB's drug mentions.

The only 'drugs' we know for sure ever actually existed are from the bust in Sylt so it would be nice to know the amounts CB/AZ were busted with. Judging from the amounts they were scoring from 'Julia' to sell on Sylt where they got busted, I wouldn't think it was that much.

There are different shades of blue eyes.
Perhaps when standing together, one could clearly see the difference between their colours; one blue and one green.

The other comment about them was that they spoke English together.
If the friend of CB would have been German, they would have spoken German. In fact the Portuguese girl who recognised CB and his friend/"brother" at the hippy parties thought they were both English until she discovered that he is German.

I figure that Austrians and Germans would also speak German together as the languages are so similar? I can with 99.9% certainty say that MT has blue eyes.

I'm disappointed in the latest SEXTA episode I must say.
It's credibility has gone right down in my estimations.

Not saying whether the sighting holds water, but if true about the VW then it definitely points towards a certain German speaking family that was hell bent on helping CB out back in 2006. I'm sure with a bit of digging, connections to Dresden and AB can be made with the same family

What relevance does it actually have to the case?

I was vague and had no firm thoughts in posting - apols - I got carried away with all the talk of SM, computers, vandalised car, potential links to CB. I guess my train of thought was that if SM was staying with this person, and that if CB had visited, then there is a chance that either had access to keys (although not necessarily to 5a) and purple uniforms.

I watched the ITV documentary the other night, imo the German suspect is looking like a very good suspect , a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing his way, the most damning being his phone pinged off that mask within an hour of her going missing, he was on the phone for 30 minutes but to whom? he had opportunity , he is a risk taker , a pedophile , a sexual attacker, a burgler , imo he broke in to steal but found Maddie and took his chance, the satalite image of his campervan on that property he previously rented is also too much of a coincidence, the key to this lies in one of the wells round that area , imo I believe he sexually abused her (maybe filmed it)and murdered her in his campervan then disposed of her body in one of the wells, can any more satalite images be released by the USA government ? can an appeal go out to Trump he would respond to this I think ,
he has gone no comment , I just wish they would formally question him or the person he was talking to that night comes forward, maybe they should offer that person immunity from prosecution ?

Since the info about CB selling the VW to the scrapyard in 2015 for 5000 Euro I have wondered how that was possible, back then the info from the BKA report was that the VW was never registered in CB's name and that it had Portuguese plates. Legally he wouldn't be able to sell it. Not sure if that info has changed since?

The VW turned up in the story after CB/MT came out of prison Dec 2006. There were no sightings of it at the farmhouse in PDL or before they went to prison April 2006. There were no traces of the VW ever being in Germany/N.Europe

Although CB/MT had possession of a blue Bedford (at time of arrest still registered under the previous owner) when released, for some reason this was left parked at the scrapyard (the only address the police had on CB) until as Amaral says, police went looking for CB in 2007, yes, that is true. What Amaral didn't say was that the police went looking for CB for his unpaid fines and nothing to do with MM. The Bedford was impounded.

Could the VW just have been on loan to CB from the very helpful people at the scrapyard? CB wouldn't have had the means to purchase it as he had just come out of prison and had lost everything.
