I'm wondering about the children's clothing found at his house. Does any of it match what potential victims were wearing when they disappeared? Any DNA recovered on the clothing? Or victim DNA on his "exotic clothing?" (Obviously no one here has the answers, just thinking out loud.)

Nothing on that yet. One report did specify girls clothing though. I don’t know much about the profile of pedophiles (and I’m good with that) but it occurred to me that they could be shop bought - artefacts to support arousal alongside digital materials.

Given what what we know about the hubris of this guy, I can’t help but think he wouldn’t hold back like that. I think he would make it clear he’s done it before. It does however potentially lend credence to the Inga case 2 years later.

Police have discovered that Christian Brückner discussed kidnapping, raping and killing a girl in a conversation with another paedophile online. He graphically described his wish to “catch something little and use it for days”.

Asked about the risk of being caught, he said: “Meh, if the evidence is destroyed . . .”

He added: “Then I’ll record maaaany videos/clips. I’ll document in detail how she’s being tortured.” The conversation was discovered by German police investigating the disappearance of Inga Gehricke, five, on the eve of the eighth year since Madeleine disappeared in May 2007.

- Prosecutor declined to say whether he believed that Brückner had filmed his abuse of Madeleine, as he did with his other victims.

Sorry, think I'm maybe missing something in the story or thread. What are you referring to regarding retrospective admission and not holding back?

The chat was in 2013. He presents it as something he would do, rather than has. So, either he already did (in 2007) and it’s a confession masquerading as a fantasy, or he hasn’t yet acted on these impulses. He doesn’t strike me as the sort to hold back. We know that he has shown rape videos to people to substantiate what he’s capable of. I think, at this point, theres a chance he he hadn’t done it.

What complicates that of course is the 2017 bar confession. Why would he confess to someone in a bar but not on the Internet where he has a degree of anonymity and protection (by default of all acting illegally.)

We don't know the link or relationship between the 2 people but given this message exchange has been found it's quite possible the other person volunteered it in order to get himself out of trouble and is not particularly loyal to CB, he's just in the same network/scene.

It was stated that was a friend in the bar he spoke to about snatching her. Possibly felt he could trust the person? Someone who possibly behaved as criminal as him, but little did CB know children were a massive no go to this friend?

This CB behaved liked he was someone to be reckoned with. Swaggering around with a gun in his waistband, thriving off the reputation he had of being feared. Ultimately he sounds like a filthy troll who would sell anything for a buck and preyed only on those most vulnerable-karma will come to him in the form of the man he believed himself to be.
A loser, a drifter, probably also a junkie who considered himself a drug dealer when his payment wasn't even in the form of cash. Filth.

Hans Christian Wolters, the German prosecutor leading the investigation into Brückner, said he feared that Madeleine had been killed shortly after being abducted from her family’s holiday flat in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
“My private opinion is that he relatively quickly killed the girl, possibly abused her and then killed her,” he said.

What if - after 2013 and before 2017 - his close knit community of friendly neighbourhood pedophiles led him to someone who really was linked to the case? What if that’s how he got the detail to later boast about the crime?

This "bar friend" must be an unsavoury character too IMO. If this is all true, you don't keep a massive secret like that for 10 years then spill the beans to some innocent guy and hope he's into that sort of thing and wont tell.

It's not been mentioned anywhere when/how this guy came forward with the information or who he is even. I suspect it wasn't out of concern though, more likely he is caught up in something too.

It’s said that it all came about incidentally because the anniversary coverage was on the TV but that seems crazy. Ten years of staying tight lipped and then, Oops! Yep, I done that one. Weird.
