Lot of people walking round in football shirts too,be easy to figure out which ones would be out watching football matches

“He particularly liked European Championships or big football games when everyone would be out watching the game in bars."

MM was taken during the semi finals of the 2007 UEFA cup. KM said that GM was probably watching the football during the children check.

Funny the friend mentioned the above in his interview - was it a Fruedian slip I wonder, in that he actually remembers the night MM disappeared?

OR - If the friend already knew CB used to use football as an excuse to rob etc - why didn't the friend put 2 and 2 together earlier?

These aren't big games unless you are supporters of those clubs or have some kind of affinity. If it was the Champions League, then it's a different matter.

I think from all the info we have, that CB was watching the families movements for several days and she was kidnapped because the kidnapper knew the parents routine.

trying to make sense of the latter section of the CB crimetimeline, it is so convoluted!:

2018: [end of] september: arrested in Milan. EAW. extradited to Germany.
Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brückner fled police in 1995
then presumably
2018: october: In jail in Kiel, northern Germany, serving 21 months for dealing drugs on the holiday island of Sylt.
(• The sentence, handed down in 2011, was initially suspended, but in 2016 he was convicted of sexual offences involving a child and the following year of grievous bodily harm* and so was then obliged to serve the drug sentence.)

14 months from october 2018 (i.e. two thirds of the sentence) would be up in november 2019.
21 months from october 2018 (i.e. the full sentence) would be up in june 2020.

as he still seems to be applying for parole (two thirds of the sentence) the dates don't add up. so, is he serving another sentence on top of the drugs sentence?
did he not go straight to prison in october 2018?

the other question is, why didn't he serve the 2011 suspended sentence when they had him in 2016?

*bbm, didn't know about that conviction.

Nice post. Really dates don't add up. I'm not sure, but I think all time spent in prison starting September 2018 will count (except perhaps first 48h in custody before being present to a judge), which make things worse. There's something missing here.

The more I read about CBs life, the more I wonder about missing children across Europe. Shortly after MM disappeared, he drove to Spain.
Guess it has been posted before but am on my mobile atm and it is hard to keep up with all my fellow posters.
I did a quick search and found a website 25 niños desaparecidos en España that has 25 children listed as missing:

"MADDIE MCCANN INVESTIGATORS WANT TO TRACE MOVEMENTS IN SPAIN OF WINNEBAGO MOTOR HOME GERMAN SUSPECT CHRISTIAN BRUECKNER OWNED"

3 cases of brothers/sisters missing...

Thanks @worldwatcher It's good to have a "bigger picture", if you know what I mean.

In missing (smaller) children's cases there are always a lot who were taken by their mother/father...family abduction and taken abroad. Although this is a felony, they mostly are pretty safe with the parent (reservation here, there could be nuances) Non-familiar abduction, trafficking, "strange" disappearances are different. I think, if we want to look into missing children's cases, we should keep that in mind. I didn't looked at the Spanish children yet, but as you stated....probably 3 cases of abduction by a family member.

That’s a good point. If I was someone hoping to evade being spotted I’d go out in a football shirt on night when a lot of blokes were wearing the same. Harder to pick someone like that out of a crowd.

Indeed, in prison there is a code of "no women or children". A person who is in for drug dealing and burglary would be considered an "ordinary decent criminal". The paedophiles, rapists and especially child killers are kept in a different section to protect them from the (relatively) normal prisoners.
Maybe they shouldn't be kept in a different section ;)

Did he get contempt of court for telling the judge to F off as well as increased fine? (Austrian pal said he told the judge to F off).

I'm sorry...I have the feeling I missed something here...

I "see" your point, but a dead person will never give information that could be relevant, ever again. BTW CB is a suspect...and until now nothing has proved that he did it......and there is another thing, karma....it's never ok to wish somebody dead. I disapprove.

MT quote:

“The cops caught us red handed, caught us stealing diesel and we got 8-and-a-half months in prison on remand waiting for a trial in Portimao.

“It’s just a small prison, so we got to spend a lot of time together. We were caught on April 7, 2006, but we didn’t have our actual trial until December 21. I don’t know why they kept us for so long and I ended up with a €1800 fine, while Christian got a little bit more as he was rude to the judge he said ‘*advertiser censored** you’ and the judge naturally gave him a bigger fine.”

So, as I understand, they were in prison from April 7, 2006 until December 21, 2006. This day they were fined on trial and no prison sentence or they had already served it on remand. These are two more dates for CB's timeline for which not many concrete dates are available.

Good grief, I didn't even mention anyone in particular and did you not see the 'wink' o_O which implies more of my general feelings about this type of crime ;) The person in question as a suspect is guilty of past crimes against women and children, so don't get too much in a tizzy! ;) However, I do see what you mean re. if the ped is dead there won't be any more possible crimes solved!

Yes, it would, Bell, but is so hard to get precise dates for him. Registration of his Jag on May 4, 2007 would be another.

ETA: summoned to police station on Nov. 4, 2013, that must have been delivered to him in hand in Braunschweig as the appointment was to be on Nov. 6 (the document can be seen on a Spiegel documentary available at Ytube).

Now we can add April 7, 2006 to Dec. 21, 2006 in prison, Lagos.
