Malaysia's government has begun investigating civil aviation and military authorities to determine why opportunities to identify and track Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 were missed in the chaotic hours after it vanished, two officials said.

Tell the government, civil aviation and military authorities to look in the mirror.

Both those guys look like they could be European to me - I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Airports probably see so many people each day with names that don't seem to match that it rarely arouses suspicion. People with names typically attributed to different genders, etc.

Talking to Sky News in a Kuala Lumpur city centre hotel, he said the criminal investigation remains live.

"Everyone on board remains under suspicion as it stands," he said.

"As we look into the black box, we look into new facts. It isn't just MI6 involved in the investigation, it is Chinese intelligence, it's also the FBI.

Malaysian police want to be in charge of examining the black boxes, once they are found. This is even though they admit they do not have the expertise to analyse the data.

Khalid Abu Bakar said: "Of course we want to know what transpired in the last minutes before the flight lost contact, but of course we don't have the experts to open up the black box and to analyse the content of the data, the voice data and the flight data."

I think this is there way of asking for help to analyze the boxes without losing face. jmo

JMO
I have a bad feeling that after all the other countries do the hard costly work of recovering the black boxes that Malasia will get possession of them and we will never hear the truth of what was on them. They will supposedly hire some "experts" of their own choosing who will be sworn to secrecy.

I am sorry for my post. I wasn't thinking. I do realize that you are right that all passengers have been cleared by authorities. Again, I am sorry for my questions.

That is okay. Sometimes we forget and it is sooooo hard because we do not know what happened or why. But families of the victims still remain off limits unless otherwise reported through MSM. The two passengers who had fake passports can be discussed in terms of them having the passports and their reasons for having them. It appears it is not uncommon for Iranians to take this route to get out of Iran for whatever their reasoning may be. But so far nothing has surfaced to indicate they had any involvement in the disappearance of this flight.

Since the flight voice recorder only records the last two hours, what if there is nothing but the background noise of the plane on them?

To me, that would mean that everyone died pretty early on and the plane flew until it ran out of fuel. Hopefully there will be something helpful on them, though!

GSF Explorer, formerly USNS Hughes Glomar Explorer (T-AG-193)

This ship is currently in the Bay of Bengal, India – was originally built for the CIA. It will be of most interest to us when she heads in a bearing SE. 'Clementine' is bound to be the recovery vessel for the plane, IMO.

Why would a 19 and 29 year old need some man to call a travel agent to get an airplane tickets

on a paid for mission??

Just a Guess...All part of the "service" and maybe he was the one who arranged the FAKE passports and the 2 young men didn't know the ID on those passports until they met in person for the hand off and final payment...

It's funny you sat that because my ex was Iranian (or Persian as like to be called) and where ever we went people thought he was Italian.

Does NTSB investigate also? Or are they more involved with the crash part of it. TIA.

Yes, where are the voice recorder's microphones located on the 777?

Can they be covered or disconnected I wonder.

The Malaysians want to LEAD the investigation...that's what I understand and not as the journalist writes that they Malay Police want to examine the flight data recorders themselves

IMO..the Malaysians want to continue to LEAD the investigation once the Black Boxes are found

IF they decide to let the NTSB (for example) examine the Black Boxes then Malaysian officials should be present during the examination...

I agree.
And from the photo we have seen, IMO from an Italian person, 1 or both could pass for an Italian male.
I had to do a double take when I saw the pics.. the 19yr old looks a lot like my southern Italian (from Calabria) friends' 20 yr old son...
