Once the murder committed, detectives had no leads until July 9th, 12 days after the murder, when a call came from Illinois.

From that call, detectives learned of the name Curtis Wayne Wright, who wasn't even on their radar.

Ultimately leading them to get a search warrant to search Wright's home, where detectives found evidence.

Mark Sievers purchased a "burner phone" at a Walmart in Naples after returning home to Florida from Wright's wedding in Missouri, Ross said

"Every single communication pings off of a cell tower," Ross said.

Each provider records the numbers for cellphones pinging off a cellphone, Ross said. In a cell tower dump, if you want every phone number that made communication during a certain amount of time you must ask for that info from each cellphone company, she said.
