Zita has been looked into in the past for this unidentified. It is highly speculated this is Virginia Welsh, but for reasons unsaid, it can't be determined.

I think that the unstated reasons might be that the Army lost her dental records and doesn't want to publicize their blunder.

I don't think it's Deanie Peters. There is quite a bit of info out there on Deanie's case, and from everything that is known, they are pretty sure that they know who the perp was (he is now deceased), and that she was buried somewhere in the Grand Rapids area. Of course, the theories could be entirely wrong, but I don't see any reason why she would end up in Maryland.

As for Michelle, there is nothing solid to exclude her, but nothing to really connect her to this case either.

I do like Lynn Burdick as a possible. The info in this UID indicates that her dental work may have been done by dental students. I noticed that McCann Vocational School (where lynn was a student) also has courses on dental assisting.

I looked to see if this UID is listed on Namus and she is not. Maryland has a lot of UID's listed but this one.


On another note, my oldest daughter went to a private school in Zelienople PA (where Michelle Reidenbach went missing from) she said that people are still baffled about her disappearance, like she disappeared into thin air...

I know Cynthia is being compared to the Haymarket VA UID found in 1982. They are are waiting to get DNA from Cynthia's family.

I see this UID doesn't have DNA on file either.... the NamUs link says that they are trying to locate the remains to extract DNA...

Welch looks like a really good match. I wonder if the Army trains dentists or dental assistants? I wonder who would be able to tell us about that possiblity. I know her dental records were lost, but maybe there are other records to indicate treatment she received, like from the VA or something

Oddly, the NamUs file for this case says that death was from 1972 to 1982, so who knows? I think Karen Kamsch should be looked at though....I'm shocked she hasn't been already, or at least she is not on the rule out list.

WOW! I am shocked at how different the two composite drawings are!

If this is a more accurate drawing then no wonder the UID has never been identified....

"On August 24, 1982, the FPD received a call about a steamer trunk just off the roadway at the Frederick City Watershed. Officers responded and discovered the body of a white female, 18-25, with dark hair, inside the trunk," police said.

Police say they have pursued hundreds of leads to try to figure out the crime.

Jeanne Scrima resembles the first sketch. She was 44 when she went missing in 1980, which is within the range on NamUs but not the Doe Network.

Yes, she does very closely resemble the sketch.

The route from Erie PA to Frederick MD to Knox NY is a circuitous one. But she was on the road when she disappeared.

unless they totally botched the estimated date of death, the original sketch looks an awful lot like Anne Riggin, age 25, missing from Harrisburg, PA in May 1982.

Anne was 5'3" and had brown hair. per mapquest, Harrisburg is just one hour 25 mins or 72 miles from Frederick.
