On Oct. 1, the squad had a game, and parents noticed that the McQuains weren’t there. One of them, Delicia Hill, dialed Jane McQuain’s cellphone and William answered, as he often did.
“William, did you know we have a game?,” Hill remembers asking.
“I’m not coming today,” he said, speaking in his regular tone.
As the two continued not to show up at practices, Walker kept calling the cellphone. She got voice-mail only. She assumed that the two had gone out of town, as they often did.

He probably got scared of what he saw and ran away, said Latrele Palmer, who turns 11 in six days and says William wont miss the birthday party. He will be there.
this is so sad..This is so sad... I thought the neighbor said he had on his gear. I guess he was prevented from going that day.

http://www.wusa9.com/news/article/171064/158/Police-Search-Parks-For-Body-Of-Missing-BoyPolice spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says police and volunteers are searching Damascus Regional Park and Little Bennett Regional Park for the body of William McQuain.
Starks says investigators have received leads that suggest McQuain's body may be located in a wooded area in one of the parks. He declined to be more specific but says the search does not mean that police are sure the boy is dead. Police dogs and mounted units are involved in the search.
