I wish there was more news on the search for william and how it is progressing/what are they doing to find him

Police were hoping to find the missing 11-year-old with the suspect but that did not happen. And even though investigators have spent hours questioning him, they are no closer to finding that little boy.

Police are scrambling to uncover clues that could lead them to 11-year-old William McQuain.

An Amber Alert for the Germantown sixth-grader has the country on watch.

Police found his mother dead after a friend called police Wednesday and reported that McQuain had not been heard from for about two weeks. Police said they're not sure when she was killed, but she is believed to have been alive as recently as Oct. 1 2.
????

An ex-boyfriend of McQuain's told a TV station in the Washington, D.C., area that McQuain had said Lopez wanted to move back in with her, and he had threatened to kill her.

A records search shows Lopez, who has no criminal record in North Carolina, has lived in Mint Hill. In 2007, Jane McQuain sued him for child support, according to court records, but the case was later dropped.

That doesn't make sense that she could have been alive then. It doesn't jive with the neighbors seeing Lopez taking stuff out.
Unless she really was on a vaca?

I am curious to know if the woman that was with CL was arrested as well. Even if she didn't help him in the murder, she could be charged with harboring a fugitive.

:sigh:

Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst with this case. I wish we knew more. Is the amber alert still in affect?

Jane McQuain and her 11-year-old son, William, left their Germantown apartment Oct. 1, heading out, as usual, for Saturday sports and other activities in her new Honda CR-V.

The car eventually returned to the apartment building’s parking lot, but neither McQuain nor her son — an inseparable pair — was seen again.

In the days that followed, a tall, slender man in a hat began walking to and from Apartment 13100, police and neighbors said. He spoke softly, often had a cellphone to his ear and once was seen dragging a large television box to McQuain’s Honda, neighbors said. He told one resident that he was returning the TV to the store, then put the box in the back of the SUV and drove off. That was on Oct. 5.

I thought I read something about an LCD tv. They are not heavy. The old style televisions are heavy. No stores would take an old tv back, unless it was a repair store; which I doubt Lopez words. Lopez probably thought he had time to hide William and come back another day to hide the mother's body. Too late!! Caught!! Where is William????

Ronald McCombs told The Associated Press on Friday that Jane McQuain had recently been arguing with her husband and that on several occasions would not leave her condominium despite her orders to do so. He said McQuain told him about two weeks ago that she was concerned about her welfare.

Christina Bassett, a children’s youth ministry leader at the church McQuain and William attended, said William loves sports and animals. After a pet hamster of his once died, he described feeling better after praying with his mother, Bassett said. She said William’s friends have been distressed and struggling to comprehend the severity of the situation. She took a walk with one boy near William’s condo on Thursday to comfort him.

“They were convinced that he was hiding in one of their favorite little hiding spots and wanted to go out and look,” Bassett said. “I explained, it’s been two weeks, he’s not there, and he’s not a boy who would step away from his mom.

“He’s one of those kids who would go for a sleepover and want to be home,” she added.

A woman found dead in her Germantown home Wednesday evening was beaten and stabbed to death, according to the medical examiner's office.

Pennsylvania Deparment of Corrections confirmed with News4 that Lopez had been part of a riot while in the Camp Hill prison that extended his incarceration. They did not immediately make available the original charges he was imprisoned for.

:furious:
So, he couldn't behave even in prison ...

Look at the comment... his coaches & team mates are holding the vigil for him :(
