A teen is among the fatalities. Sadly, I suspect there will be more children identified.

Bill and Aaron Young

The father and son - who was aged just 14 - were killed at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley, where they had been on a night out with their bowling league. This is according to Mr Young's brother, Rob.

Before learning about their deaths, he had flown from Baltimore to Lewiston in Maine to help his sister-in-law find any information about the pair, who she had not heard from since they went to the bowling alley.

So devasting. And so sad that the family couldn't get information. :(

My suspicion is Card made a very detailed well-thought-out plan that included:

1) Shooting at one end of town (bowling alley) only then to go to the opposite end of town (bar) knowing that all LE would head to the bowling alley first

2) Get rid of his boat days before the shootings, then leave his car at the boat ramp (with another car staged close by) in order to force LE to spend a lot of time there searching the river while in the meantime he is driving fast away.

3) Probably steal or otherwise obtain out of state license plates in order to put on his other car to drive out of state.... APB for LE in neighboring states would be for them to look for Maine license plates.

4) Will probably ditch that car and buy a used car somewhere with cash...and just keep driving. Wild guess.. .he is in somewhere like Louisiana.

The point is, with what is known already about the shootings, I doubt his planning would have stopped at him wanting to go into the woods in Maine and just hunker down. His escape plan was probably "crazy" complicated and extremely well thought out. When you get crazy... sometimes it's maniacally crazy. Those poor poor victims did not have a chance. :(

I personally think he is hundreds of miles away from Maine.

Sea-Doos. Speed & Range of Travel?

@CrimeDawg123 Thanks for prompting me to look a bit further.
Quickky searched for Sea-Doo products & found these models <--- 2024, of course, his could be older.

Personal water craft:
Also at that link, some tow boats and some "Sport Fishing" craft.

And Sea-Doo Pontoon boats:

IDK how far or how quickly a person on a Sea-Doo could go.

The named suspect has a l-o-n-g headstart.
SeaDoo made boats as well as the little runabouts that are associated with the name, some of them seat up to seven people.
Thank you very much for the information. I did not know they had anything other than the jet ski type boats. So likely he could go a fair distance with a larger one.

Is there any proof or is this pure speculation?

Not easy to get rid of a boat/out of state plates would be hard to get/as a trained military person, he’s not likely to be driving. IMO

If he has crossed into Canada, as speculated, he will not have driven over the border.

An older relative of mine is having such a hard time adjusting to hearing aids and it's frustrating to everyone. The experiences posted here have been helpful to me. I always say I never know what I'll learn on WS, and in this case it's patience with someone dealing with hearing aids for the first time and who wants to ditch them. I am more understanding now. Thanks, WSers.

Back to the case, I awake for the second day surprised the perp isn't caught yet. I hope today is the day and the town will rest easier tonight.

I truly agree with your sentiment here........... we do really learn about...things...on websleuths!!!

I don't think I know anyone who has these issues... but i must know folks with hearing aids, right??? But gee, I have still learned a great deal about the various issues and problems people have with them.I think I will be more aware and sympathetic ....

Has anyone seen mention if his motorcycle was found at his house or anywhere? That would be one way to get away undetected also. If they put out info he's in a white car and didn't know about the motorcycle he owned for a while, then him leaving the area on a motorcycle wouldn't cause any alarm as everyone was looking for the white car.

Another thought is if he's in the woods somewhere and hunting season is opening tomorrow, then I worry for those heading into the woods that he could be there ready to pick people off. If someone is hunting alone, they wouldn't be missed until they are due back from hunting. He could possibly harm others and get away again because by the time anyone realized someone was not back from hunting and went looking for that person, Card could be long gone from that area again.

It's mainly just a theory.. but my main point is expect twists because this guy probably really planned this escape to the T

I've been wondering if he has an ATV. He could leave one vehicle at the boat launch, giving the impression he escaped by boat or jet ski, but ride an ATV to a hidden second vehicle. Sounds goofy, I know. But I do wonder if he had an ATV or dirt bike, etc.

Edited to add: or drive the second vehicle to an ATV stashed somewhere that he could ride into the dense woods. Idk....where is he??

A 10 a.m. news conference was scheduled at Lewiston City Hall. It was not immediately clear who would be at the event.

The Coast Guard is now using a response vessel dispatched from Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and a fixed-wing aircraft from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to search the waterways for Card, who is believed to be in a 15-foot lake boat. The search is focused on the northern shore of the waterway.

I think he is dead in the woods from a self inflicted gunshot wound. It's usually the script for guys like him. I hope I am right.

My guess would be, that this man is already deceased somewhere, in a location he's very familiar with.
It's not as if you can do something like this and just move away, find a new job and start over.

Agree. Unless he's plans to live like the uni-bomber did, off grid. (Not that it's a good plan, but this guy doesn't think clearly, clearly.)

Also from link.

Card is enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he has served as a petroleum supply specialist since 2002, and has an active military ID, which gives him access to any military base, according to the law enforcement bulletin.

The thing that haunts me is if he has a longer list of targets he intends to get to. His mission might not be complete yet. But, I do think it's already "ended."

jmo
I saw reports last night that indicated he chose the locations him and his ex used to frequent together.
If she's among the victims, he's done.
If she's not, he might still be alive, waiting to finish the job.

As horrifying as that sounds :(
