Author: Drew Peterson Failed Half a Polygraph Test on Missing Wife Stac

Former police officer Drew Peterson failed half a polygraph test about his missing fourth wife's disappearance, according to the author of a new book.

.................snip.................

Armstrong says Peterson acted "cold" when he spoke about Stacy Peterson — and he has released some clips of the interview audio tapes to the media in the days since his book hit shelves Oct. 1.

He became very, very cold. He appeared to be emotionless," Armstrong said. "Frankly, the only time I got him to warm up emotionally was when he talked about himself — and his kids."

Lots of suspicion, few leads in Peterson mystery

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Over the past year, searchers have taken to the woods, waterways and even the skies over Bolingbrook, Illinois. They've looked, and then they've looked again.

But there's been no sign of Stacy Peterson, the 23-year-old fourth wife of former Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson.

Police have named Peterson a suspect in his wife's disappearance. He maintains he is innocent, and says she ran off with another man.

The Peterson case has become a cable television staple and has spawned several books.

But as Stacy Peterson's disappearance approaches the one-year mark, police seem no closer to solving the mystery than they were on October 28, 2007.

Jury details set in Peterson gun case
Bolingbrook Sun - Naperville,IL,USA

October 23, 2008

By JOE HOSEY JHOSEY@SCN1.COM

JOLIET — Prosecutors and attorneys for Drew Peterson hammered out the details Thursday afternoon for jury selection in his felony gun trial.

The lengthy discussions primarily were held behind closed doors in the chambers of Judge Richard Schoenstedt.
Schoenstedt said 150 potential jurors would be summoned for Dec. 5, and would be subjected to a questionnaire prior to the actual jury selection.

During a break from the discussions, Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky, refuted a statement by Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow that there would be a resolution soon in the investigation of the March 2004 death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the October 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

Drew Peterson to Appear on NBC’s 'Today' Show on One-Year ...

Today show host Matt Lauer will interview Peterson live, says Glenn Selig, Peterson’s publicist.

It will be the only interview Peterson will give that day, says Selig.
“He doesn’t need this day to reflect on Stacy,” says Selig, “he thinks about her every day and has repeatedly asked her to either return home or to give some indication that she is well.”

After the Today show interview, Selig says Peterson wants to be away from the media spotlight.

Tuesday marks a year anniversary, a milestone in most instances. But for many, it is not a day to celebrate.

Instead, some will observe the date in private. Others plan to hold a solemn vigil. Drew Peterson, the former Bolingbrook police sergeant who has found fame as a suspect in the Oct. 28, 2007, disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, will grant an interview on NBC's "Today" show.

His appearance is hardly a surprise to Stacy's friends and family, who have had to withstand his flirtation with the media over the past year as they have mourned Stacy's loss. Drew Peterson, 54, says she ran off; her loved ones say she would never leave her kids.

To mark the year that has passed since Stacy Peterson vanished, her sister and closest relatives will mourn privately, while neighbors hold a memorial vigil.

Drew Peterson has different plans for Tuesday: He's going on TV to talk about the disappearance of his fourth wife -- and the mysterious 2004 drowning death of his third wife.

"I'm not going to be here. I'm going to do some New York show," said Peterson, the former Bolingbrook cop who has been named the sole suspect in Stacy's disappearance but has continued to insist in media interviews that his 23-year-old wife voluntarily left him for another man.

But a year later, Will County authorities abruptly have signalled that some charges may be coming in Stacy Peterson's disappearance or Savio's death, which initially was classified an accident. After Stacy's disappearance, authorities exhumed Savio's body, conducted a second autopsy and labeled her bathtub drowning a homicide.

Peterson's stepbrother is back home
Joliet Herald News - Joliet,IL,USA
November 1, 2008

BOLINGBROOK -- A potential key piece to the Stacy Peterson puzzle is back in the neighborhood.

Tom Morphey, the stepbrother of Drew Peterson and the man believed to have helped the serial marrier carry a suspiciously warm barrel out of his house hours after his fourth wife was last seen alive, is home again in Bolingbrook.

Peterson even claims to have recently bumped into his stepbrother in a local Meijer store, and says his stepbrother was so scared he went "poof" and disappeared.

Morphey's girlfriend, Sheryl Alcox, disputes this account. She said she was with Morphey when they saw Peterson and, while Peterson has never been shy when he has seen her solo, he steered clear when he spotted her in the company of her live-in boyfriend.

Radio contest pulls its Peterson prank
Joliet Herald News - Joliet,IL,USA

BOLINGBROOK -- Drew Peterson's Halloween started with a radio station's trick but the embattled ex-cop said it wouldn't put him off from dispensing treats to neighborhood children.
"There will be candy available at the Peterson house for trick-or-treating fun," Peterson said shortly after two people showed up at his door Friday morning to win a radio contest, followed by the cops pulling up to put a stop to the shenanigans.

Gun charges dropped against Drew Peterson

JOLIET, Ill. – A judge dismissed felony gun charges Thursday against Drew Peterson after prosecutors refused to hand over internal documents leading to their decision to arrest the former Bolingbrook police sergeant, who is suspected in the disappearance of his wife.

In a tense hearing, Judge Richard Schoenstedt ruled that prosecutors must comply with his order to give defense attorneys the documents, which are communication between Illinois State Police and the Will County state's attorney's office. Neither attorneys nor Schoenstedt outlined specifically what is in those documents.

Schoenstedt warned prosecutors that if they did not hand over the documents, he could dismiss the charges. Will County prosecutor John Connor refused, telling the judge he understood the consequences but saying such a move would open a "flood gate" for future cases.

"We don't want to subject every prosecutor in the country to have to turn over internal documents," he said.

House unanimously passes 'Drew bill'

November 20, 2008

By Dave McKinney and Dan Rozek, Sun-Times News Group

Will County prosecutors on Wednesday got a new legal weapon they can use to investigate the murder of one of Drew Peterson's wives and the disappearance of another.

But it's not clear if the measure unanimously approved by the Illinois House will lead to criminal charges against the former Bolingbrook police sergeant - or if the law will pass constitutional muster

Certain women regard Drew as a prime catch
SEX &RELATIONSHIPS | They're trying to repeat early clash with male figure

December 30, 2008

What is the attraction?

There are a couple of reasons why women flock to purported bad boys like Peterson. Often, these women have an early history of conflict or trauma with the primary male figure in their life. In some women, this might be a history of an abusive relationship with their father, or perhaps an emotionally charged relationship with their stepfather.

Prosecutor confident in Peterson cases
Says at least 1 should be solved in 2009

December 31, 2008

The new year should bring new information that will help investigators determine what happened to at least one of Drew Peterson's wives, Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow said Tuesday.

Though Glasgow made a similar, still-unfulfilled prediction two months ago, he remains upbeat that authorities will solve the 2007 disappearance of Stacy Peterson and the 2004 drowning death of Kathleen Savio.
