For the first time, Peterson spoke out about his relationship with Raines. Peterson said he knew Raines since she was 15, and helped her out when she was a runaway or got into fistfights with other young girls. He said Raines was pressured to leave him, and by doing so she and her children left the &#8220;happiest, healthiest environment that she ever lived in.&#8221;
Peterson denied asking Raines to wear clothes belonging to his missing wife, saying instead that he offered her clothing he was packing up because Raines didn&#8217;t have very much. He called the actions of Raines&#8217; father, coming to his home with a film crew to get Raines&#8217; belongings, a &#8220;stunt.&#8221; Brodsky said he was on the phone with Peterson during the incident, and said the stuff was already &#8220;all packed up and ready to go.&#8221;
Peterson talked about the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, his missing wife, and insisted that she left him. He said he tells his younger children that Stacy is &#8220;on vacation.&#8221; Pressed by Lisa Bloom for details, Peterson, for the first time, said he &#8220;agreed that it was suspicious circumstances.&#8221; He had no explanation as to why there are no phone records, texts, emails or other evidence to substantiate his story that Stacy Peterson ran off with another man.

In addition to Raines, the grand jury has been visited by another former girlfriend, an ex-wife, an former fiancee, his mother, stepfather, an attorney who represented him in a divorce, the attorney who represented Savio in her divorce, identical twin male nurses, various friends, an assortment of in-laws and past in-laws, a minister from a church he attended and others.
"I think they're going after my kindergarten teacher next," Peterson said.
Raines' father, Ernie Raines, who has called Peterson the "devil," did not know what his daughter discussed with the grand jury.
"I don't know nothing till she calls me," Ernie Raines said. "I didn't live inside (Peterson's) house. Whatever Chrissy's got to say, she's keeping it to herself."

Drew Peterson's romance blew up one week ago with angry words from his ex's father. Peterson spoke to CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli to tell his side of the bad breakup. The interview marks the first time Peterson has sat down with a local television crew for an extended on-camera interview.
Asked if the engagement was indeed fake, Peterson said, "Christina asked me to marry her like five or six times. So I went to the bottom of a costume jewelry drawer and got her ring."
Peterson says the couple had planned to get a real ring soon and he'd even asked her to get it sized. But Raines said the engagement was phony and was orchestrated by Peterson's lawyer.
Sources say Peterson is likely to be charged in connection with the death of Savio sometime in the next few months.

Peterson said he's been railroaded by the media.
"In the court of public opinion, I believe everybody has me guilty," he said.
Some members of that court care enough to write. And it's not all hate-mail. Peterson says he gets several letters a week. One is from a man in Maple Park who tells him to keep fighting and that he's getting a raw deal.
But right now Peterson has to deal with evidence stacked up against him that could be provided by two men &#8211;- Neil Schori and Thomas Morphey. Sources believe Morphey helped Peterson dispose of Stacy Peterson's body on the day she disappeared.
"I think (Morphey has) attempted to take his own life a few times, and now all of a sudden he's become a hero to his family when before he was nothing but a loser to his family," Peterson.
But sources say Morphey never attempted to take his life until that day out of fear of what he might have helped Peterson do.

Believing Stacy Peterson was in the blue barrel he helped his stepbrother haul to a waiting get-away car, Thomas Morphey said he tried to kill himself by swallowing bottles of anti-depressant and anti-anxiety pills.

Morphey survived the attempt but does not know if this makes him lucky.

Instead of death, he now endures each day in a living hell, he says, courtesy of his stepbrother, Drew Peterson.

&#8220;It kills me,&#8221; said Morphey, who broke a near 17-month silence to speak out last week. &#8220;There&#8217;s not a day that goes by that I don&#8217;t wish I could take back the events of that day.&#8221;

Morphey is talking about Oct. 28, 2007. That&#8217;s when Drew Peterson, he said, came out of the master bedroom in his home pushing a blue barrel and asked Morphey for a hand in carrying the barrel downstairs.

Morphey is talking about Oct. 28, 2007. That&#8217;s when Drew Peterson, he said, came out of the master bedroom in his home pushing a blue barrel and asked Morphey for a hand in carrying the barrel downstairs.

Murder plot?
Morphey said the day before the blue barrel incident, Peterson showed up at his home, ostensibly to take him to a nearby Meijer store, where Peterson, the overnight sergeant for the Bolingbrook Police Department, had supposedly lined up a job interview for Morphey.
But Peterson and Morphey never made it to Meijer. Instead, Morphey said, Peterson drove him to a park off Remington Boulevard.
&#8220;We went to that park to discuss Stacy cheating on him, and he had to take care of the problem,&#8221; Morphey said.

Cell phone calls
The night after their trip to the park on Remington, and then the storage facility, Morphey said Peterson showed up again. Morphey admits he&#8217;d been drinking beer, but claims to have a clear recollection of what transpired.
&#8220;He just started driving,&#8221; Morphey said. The two men got coffee at a Starbucks drive-through before heading to a park off Weber Road. There, Morphey said, Peterson handed him a cell phone, told him not to answer it, then left.

Peterson visits
On that Tuesday morning, after returning from Edward Hospital in Naperville, Alcox said Peterson showed up at their door, not long after she saw a story on the TV news about Stacy&#8217;s disappearance.
She told Peterson about Morphey&#8217;s suicide attempt. He offered his help but said nothing about his wife&#8217;s disappearance, she said.

Getting immunity
The next day, Morphey got his offer of immunity. Glasgow showed up himself to grant it. He had a couple state troopers with him, and they talked to Morphey in a coffee room.
&#8220;It was the first of many interrogations,&#8221; Morphey said. &#8220;They went easy on me there.&#8221; But the grilling got tougher, he said, with police accusing him of killing Stacy. Morphey figures he underwent about 40 hours of interrogation that included threats to pull his immunity.
Morphey said he spent about five months away from his family for his own protection. The state police first put him and Alcox up in a motel about two hours from his home. Alcox returned after a long weekend.

Holding pattern
That was a year ago. And Morphey has yet to speak a word to the ongoing grand jury convened to hear evidence about Stacy's disappearance and Savio&#8217;s death.
&#8220;All contact&#8217;s pretty much been broken,&#8221; he said. And Morphey feels &#8220;betrayed.&#8221;
Charles B. Pelkie, spokesman for the state's attorney's office, said he was precluded from discussing Morphey&#8217;s story. &#8220;I can&#8217;t comment on any aspect of a pending investigation,&#8221; he said.

Drew Peterson's stepbrother said he believed the former cop was planning to murder someone in October 2007, but for the first time he described publicly his sickening realization that the person Peterson wanted to kill was his wife, Stacy. Thomas Morphey recounts the moment he concluded that Peterson's target was his 23-year-old wife.

"All I could think ... was he was killing her while I was standing there," Morphey told "Good Morning America." Morphey went to the police, won immunity for his involvement and disappeared for six months under police protection. But now, 18 months after Stacy Peterson vanished, Morphey said he had yet to be called by the grand jury investigating her disappearance.
"I just feel like the truth needs to be told at some point," he told "Good Morning America."
"I have to at least get it off my chest," Morphey said.

Drew's now a People person

Ex-cop back in weekly magazine

BOLINGBROOK — Valerie Bertinelli beat Drew Peterson out for the cover of this week's People magazine, but then Peterson didn't wear a bikini for his photo shoot.

"It happens," said Peterson, 55, who is featured in a photo spread and article inside the magazine. "I knew Valerie Bertinelli would get in my way one day."

Concerned father

Raines' father, Ernie Raines, has opposed his daughter's relationship with Peterson and is somewhat critical of her supposed future husband in particular.

"I hope he burns in hell for what he did," said Raines, who has given up trying to convince his daughter that marrying Peterson may not be such a great idea.

"I think my daughter needs to get out of there," he said. "But there's no more I can do."

HBO: Drew not welcome on cable show

HBO says there's no chance Drew Peterson will appear on a reality television show set in a Nevada brothel.

In fact, HBO spokeswoman Tobe Becker says the network would cancel the show, called "Cathouse," before allowing the former suburban Chicago police officer to appear.

Peterson publicist Glenn Selig said Wednesday that his client was weighing an offer from the owner of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch outside Carson City.

Becker calls that a "stunt" HBO does not condone.

Selig did not immediately comment Thursday. A spokeswoman for the Bunny Ranch says they're still talking to Peterson.

Drew Peterson Arrested in Connection With Death of Third Wife

Illinois police and prosecutors are scheduled to hold a news conference at 8:30 p.m. CDT Thursday about the murder indictment. Peterson is accused of killing Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in a bathtub in her home on March 1, 2004.

MyFOXChicago.com reported that Peterson was arrested at 5:35 p.m. Thursday after state police surrounded his car at an intersection. Peterson was alone in his car at the time.

State police later searched Peterson's home, MyFOXChicago.com reported.

Peterson's attorney told FOX News that he was unaware of the arrest.

Drew Peterson was taken into custody at 5:35pm Thursday. State police blocked his car at Lily Cache Lane and Weber Road. He was in the car by himself at the time. Currently there are 6 state police searching his home. Kathleen Savio&#8217;s nephew tells Fox Chicago News that the arrest is related to the Savio case.
