New York neurosurgeon who separated conjoined twins dies from complications of Covid-19

Dr. James T. Goodrich, the neurosurgeon who allowed CNN inside a remarkable operation to separate twins Jadon and Anias McDonald, died on Monday after complications related to Covid-19.

"Dr. Goodrich was a beacon of our institution and he will be truly missed," said Montefiore Medicine CEO Dr. Philip O. Ozuah. "His expertise and ability were second only to his kind heart and manner."

Goodrich, who was in this 70s, spent more than 30 years at Montefiore Einstein and was the director of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Montefiore and a professor of clinical neurological surgery, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Goodrich was originally from Oregon and served as a Marine during the Vietnam war and he was known for his passion for historical artifacts, travel and surfing. He is survived by his wife and three sisters.

Andrew, who played Major Caluan Ematt in the series, died in a hospital in Chertsey, Surrey, on Tuesday morning of complications from the virus.

Suzanne Hoylaerts from Binkom, near Lubbeek, was hospitalised on March 20 when her condition rapidly deteriorated after contracting COVID-19.

William Helmreich, a prominent sociologist perhaps best known for walking nearly every block of New York City, died Saturday morning of coronavirus.

He was 74.

Helmreich wrote nearly 20 books, including "The New York Nobody Knows: Walking 6,000 Miles in the City," which chronicled his walks through New York City talking to and learning about its residents.

Born in Switzerland to Holocaust survivors, Helmreich immigrated to New York City as an infant, eventually becoming a sociology professor at the City College of New York.

Schoolboy Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab is believed to have died alone at Kings College Hospital in London yesterday, with family members unable to visit him in fear of catching the deadly virus, according to a fundraiser.

'Star Wars' Actor Andrew Jack Dead at 76 From Coronavirus Complications

Star Wars” actor Andrew Jack has passed away from coronavirus. He was 76.

Jack’s wife wasn’t even allowed to be by her husband's side because she’s in quarantine in Australia. Since the world is trying to battle the pandemic, she added that it may not be possible to accommodate a proper funeral.

In addition to being an actor, Jack was also a dialect coach and was recently hired on for the upcoming “Batman” film starring Robert Pattinson.

During his time with the "Star Wars" franchise, he starred as Major Caluan Ematt in "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi" while also providing the voice of Moloch in "Solo: A Star Wars Story." He helped Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and others tap into their alien language.

A minor in New York City has suffered a coronavirus-related death.

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene announced the fatality of at least one resident 17 years of age or younger. The minor, who was not identified, had an underlying health condition — what the health department noted could include diabetes, lung disease, cancer, immunodeficiency, heart disease and asthma, among other conditions. No other details were provided.
