I wonder if she had a computer with internet access at home. It has to get pretty lonely staying at home all day alone with no car.

Wow that article that Nurse posted said the police do have a lead. That's good news.

I take showers, blow dry my hair, clean the house, turn the music on loud, vacuum, walk the dog, shovel the walk outside - do lots of things that keep me from answering the phone. My husband would not come running home looking for me if he could not get me on the phone for thirty minutes.

Same here... I'm even more suspicious now that the kids left for school at 7:20 and the husband didn't leave until 7:30. So no one else was there at that time but the husband/wife. And the door wasn't answered at 9:00 or 9:30...

Shoes and coat is what she would have had on if she had walked the kids to the bus stop, kwim? And came right back.

Again, I hope I'm wrong and she's okay. If she's not okay, then I hope for the kids' sake that the dad is innocent. JMHO

OT: When our sheriff's wife was murdered a few years ago, the sheriff couldn't reach her on her cell phone so he rushed home from their planned lunch date to find her dead in their home. He's always been the #1 suspect in our community and has since moved away. What stood out to me more than anything: why rush home to check on your wife so soon, especially in the case here - the wife was a busy real estate agent and active in the community. She could have had a myriad of reasons for missing lunch and not answering her phone, kwim? Even though Amy does not seem to have such a busy lifestyle (and no car access), that always stands out in my mind.

I was in a previous relationship where checking in was expected and if I didn't answer the phone when he called or I was gone from the house for too long he assumed I was cheating on him. Of course the relationship didn't last long after I realized what the heck his problem was... insecurity big time!

Not saying that was an issue with Amy just saying there are many different reasons for the "close" relationship a husband has or needs with his spouse.

Good point! I had thought of this too. Could be they were just really close and kept in touch throughout the day often or something like the above scenario.

I thought about abduction but then the doors being locked keep me from going that route. And I don't know anyone who would lock their doors to go out and feed the dog. Most parents I know have a key hidden outside in case they accidentally get locked out or the kids lock them out of the house. It's happened to me only once and I took care of that issue quickly. I don't think she got locked out.
Also, a Mom doesn't go anywhere without her cell phone in case her kids who are at school would need something or be sick etc. Not to mention she had no car to go anywhere and none of her friends picked her up. If she had gone off with someone she would have taken more than just her coat. None of this makes any sense!

Soon as I read the 1st sentence I knew that case- I live 30 min or so away and always wondered if the locals felt he did it.

BBM. That would be why just the shoes and coat and nothing else. No struggle INSIDE the house but were there signs of a struggle outside the house? What time did her husband punch in at work? On time?

what exact town is this and what is the next closest town?

So assuming for the moment that the 10:00 phone call was routine and legit -- that implies that she was a person of routines. Which would mean if somebody was stalking her, they wouldn't have much trouble picking a time and place.

I wonder if she went outside with the dog while he did his business, maybe walked around the yard, and somebody grabbed her then.

Look how fast it happened for Venus Stewart to be grabbed outside her parents home - and there were people in the house sleeping. Nothing was heard.

BTW - that happened about 65 miles SE of Hartford.

Comment on NG's FB from a friend, AD. In summary: She says James is a wonderful husband and man. Amy was a very giving and sweet person who would "give the coat off of her back" for anyone, volunteers at the school and community center when she can etc. Says that it was James' and her routine for the 10:00 call every day. Also says the community is in shambles and that they don't need the negativity toward the family.

It's on or around comments 200-250.

From the overview of the home, it looks like the country road they live on is kind of "highway'ish." I researched the speed limits in MI and 55 is the limit on those types of roads with no divider. Point being, if she was abducted by car, they could have gotten away pretty quickly.

So hard on the family - they're traumatized about their missing loved one, and then they find out pretty quickly that public scrutiny is very intense and can be very harsh at times.

I so hope she is found soon!

If the 10:00 a.m. call was routine every day I could see why the husband may have been worried.

But what does concern me is I hope he wasn't a controlling individual that called at that time to make sure she was home, if you know what I mean?

I'm almost always home in the mornings but if my husband couldn't get in touch with me for 30 minutes he would not come home from work to check on me. He would just try calling again later. I suspect he would get worried after a couple of hours, not just 30 minutes.

BUT if their routine was he called her everyday at break, and she was always expecting his call, it was part of their routine AND he knew she had no plans for the day, that explains it alot more for me, that he would worry. Heck, maybe he thought she fell and hit her head or something. ( my neighbor lady laid on her living room floor for a week, just a week ago because no one had been by to check on her, so maybe I'm projecting *paranoid * )

So very true. Until LE releases a statement saying they've ruled out every individual, checked out timelines, cell phone records, ping records and have every assurance they weren't involved... the public has doubt and can be very assumptive/harsh in theorizing what could have happened. Even with that some will have doubt.

I just pray they get answers and can bring Amy home very soon.

Paw Paw would be the next " biggest " town, but Benton Harbor is maybe a little closer. Hartford is a spit on the map, very small.

I believe they were breaking ground on the new casino in hartford, I wonder if there were alot of construction workers in the area and if that is near their home. I need to do some digging.

By the numbers

Four Winds North casino

Location: North side of Red Arrow Highway about 2.5 miles west of the city of Hartford in Hartford Township.

Not sure how close this is to their property.
