The campground is open to the public, we have stayed there a few years back. If you go to their web site it states that it is used by people going to the casino. The just put in a water park inside one of the hotels and people are staying at the campgrouns and buying day passes to use the water park, because of the price of the hotel. Thanks

Search for missing boy now being conducted as criminal investigation

MT. PLEASANT (WKZO) -- As the search for 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain enters its 6th day, hope is beginning to fade and suspicions rise that the mother’s boyfriend, who was babysitting for the pre-schooler, may be responsible for his disappearance.

So he's claiming that he was out looking for Carnel when Mom got home?

Bio Grandma has put up a few new posts, one states that the BF has been arrested in Carnell's disappearance. The other is that there is an Amber Alert out for Charnell.

Were there any ATV tracks in the yard?

When was the last time the ATV was fueled? Was it fueled at a gas station? Jerry cans?

How much fuel was in the ATV when LE took it?

How far could the ATV go, both in geography with the trails/terrain, and in relation to the fuel levels?

Was the ATV parked as usual?

BS and SS who live next door, said they saw people in white jumpsuits going inside the home and noticed that police took an ATV four-wheeler and some other items from outside the home.

The search for the missing child began Thursday evening soon after Jaimee Chamberlain, 21, returned from work to her home at 7340 E. Tomah to find that her son was not there. Chamberlain told police that her boyfriend was watching the 4-year-old and that neither of them were home when she arrived.

Has anyone posted a map of the cell towers for Carnel's case?

Atv's can go pretty far on gas, we have two bigger ones and can run them for several hours without putting gas in them. Leaving tracks depends on the surface they are being drove on, we can drive ours around our house on the grass and it does not leave tracks. If the grass is not been cut, you can see where they have been rode or if the ground is wet, it leaves marks. I only speak from what I know, plus if there is any dirt, or sand there would ne tracks left. There are new laws in certain areas where you can ride atv's on the road ways, so that would influence if they drove the atv to a gas station to fill it or if they filled it at home. I am not sure how close a gas station is to the reservation?

So, was the ATV in use the day of the disappearance?

Was the ATV seen or heard that day or night?

What would be the maximum geographical radius that the ATV could travel on, for example, a full tank of gas, and assuming it was near empty on return, average travel speed, not refueled?

That distance could then be reasonably cut in half, presuming that ATV was used to travel to location A and return to the home.

Did they normally wear helmets? Did Carnel have a helmet? Did he ride tandem on the ATV ? In front or behind?

(hypothetical questions to provoke possible radius for search grounds)

The tribe said the boyfriend initially wasn't cooperative. Cloutier says Tuesday a "criminal investigation" is under way.

Jaimee came home from work and AB & Carnel were not home? Did he come riding up on the ATV? Is this why we are also hearing that it's unclear who was watching Carnel? This is definitely different from what we heard initially.

The neighbors saw him jumping on the trampoline Thursday afternoon. Sure wish we knew exactly what time.

Her current live in boyfriend is an ex felon whom she has been "dating" for 7 months. This is who she chose to leave her son with. Maybe it is time to start holding moms accountable when they place their kids in harms way. It's really not that difficult.

There was a time, before all these online sources were available, that I made a VERY bad call regarding someone I was dating. He told a story of a privileged upbringing and private prep schools. He claimed to own lots of real estate and several cars. His mom seemed to be backing him up on every tale. It took me 2 years to learn that 95% of what he told me was untrue.

In the interim, I married him (since I did not think "sleepover boyfriends" were a good idea with a child around). He molested my daughter without me having a clue for 2 years while she was in elementary school.

NOW when I look him up online, in addition to the charges related to molesting my daughter (filed 5 years later when she revealed what had occurred), I find NUMEROUS other charges and red flags. But that information was unavailable at the time.

I used to ride atv's near the north east corner of broomfield and leaton there used to be trails and a pond back there surronded by hills or mounds of dirt. now this was many years ago and things my have changed. But it is in the area .. especially for an atv...

while the mom could have made a better decision of not getting involved with this guy in the first place. i do give her credit that it doesn't seem she automatically is taking his side and defending him. so many other cases that is what the mom does.

Speaking for myself, cases like this one involving children always tend to bring out a lot of emotions. I hate to see people throwing blame at mom. We're all human. Sometimes we think we're doing the right thing and it's completely not. Hind sight, ya know.

MY gut, I have to agree with some earlier posters that perhaps there was an accident and bf freaked out and is trying to hide it. For some reason, I just don't feel like he intentionally hurt the child. Maybe he was neglectful and got scared.
I have a 4 yr old boy and if you turn your back for 5 minutes, he's running in the street juggling knives (exaggeration, but making a point). They keep mentioning a pool. I could see a drowning and instead of calling the police for fear of getting in trouble, he decides to try and hide what happened.

I found this article and these quotes, and it kinda seems like maybe mom is thinking the same type of thing:

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/06/25/michigan-mom-suspects-boyfriend-in-childs-disappearance/

When she got home from work, she said her boyfriend wasn’t frantically searching. So, she did.

“And it sunk in and I was like, ‘Where is he at?’ I ended up like searching everywhere … I went in the bathrooms, I went in all the bedrooms, I looked in all the closets, I looked in all my cabinets, I looked in my refrigerator and after that I went outside and looked in the back yard,” said Chamberlain.

Chamberlain said she now believes her boyfriend may be involved. ”I don’t know, it just feels like he’s hiding something because why wouldn’t you just … take the polygraph test to just help us out with the whole investigation that’s going on?”

I just hope and pray that he is found soon, whatever the truth turns out to be!
