The VI stated he was surprised to discover he and the owner of the house searched had some mutual friends on FB.
If you are still reading this VI, can you tell us if you have found a connection to anyone -- DS or her friends, or HS friends who also knew the homeowner or his wife? And do you know if the connection also includes the husband of DS's friend?

I truly hope the family has more of an idea of what is going on with this case than we do. I think of Danielle often and have been reading here daily hoping to see some type of update in regards to where she is. There are so many interesting theories on this forum, I am hoping the situation ends with her being found safely!!

LE did give a special shout-out to the SONIC agency, saying they had been particularly helpful or important? in helping out with this case. Don't recall the exact wording.

I think SONIC is for surveillance. They have people under surveillance in that area to solve crimes. They've brought down a few large narcotic busts in the Detroit area. That being said, SONIC may have surveillance video of the areas DS might have traveled, or maybe of the apartment complex, or for other reasons, that LE wanted to view. Maybe to see DS driving the jeep. SONIC has equipment and skilled people power to provide continued surveillance on someone. Maybe a person is in deep with other dealings too?

I spent New Year's Eve and New Years day downtown Detroit. Got there at 3pm sat and left 2:30 am this morning(mon). I was all over the downtown area, casinos, bars, Campus Martius(all day things going on with the big "D" dropping at midnight), and the Lions major prime time Football game.

When we got on 1-94 in northern Macomb county heading to Detroit there was a huge billboard near Mt Clemens exit with her missing info, but billboard was electronic and it was changing every few seconds. The next time I saw anything to do with her was for a few seconds on the big screen at the football game, if I remember correctly it was not up there by itself but with other things.

Anyhow with all the getting the word out on this case and all the weird things like 12 agencies, drugs, trafficking, several people with connections to Wayne County, the border crossings right there, I found the lack odd.

Now of course I was not everywhere, but lots of places by car and foot not 1 poster. Truly sorry I didn't think ahead and run some copies to post all over.

For Secret Service involvement:

Investigative Missions in Michigan-The investigative mission of the Secret Service in Michigan is quite evident when viewing some of the latest headlines to come out of this state.
On April 8, 2013, a Fenton man was sentenced to more than 13 years for his involvement in a major mortgage fraud that was estimated to be worth millions of dollars. The scheme, which was investigated by both the Secret Service and the FBI, involved more than 450 fraudulent mortgages and dozens of unsuspecting lenders. The sentencing of this individual was just one of 15 individuals brought down by the investigative prowess of the Secret Service agents in Michigan.
The Secret Service was, once again, instrumental in the takedown of a Detroit-based identity theft ring in December 2013. The Secret Service agents of the Grand Rapids, Michigan field office were able to bring to justice eight individuals involved in this scheme.

Maybe they have knowledge of who she was last seen with leaving work and whatever ties that person may have or be involved with could be related to a type of fraud or theft ring. Not necessarily "her" or anything she was aware of. This was just one example I found, but I was looking more for the importance in Michigan, not with the president.

Here's another: A gas station in Ypsi raided for fraud investigation in June 2016. You can see local departments involved that are not "near" Ypsi. Haven't released "why" but says it happened another time for selling loose cigarettes. This one is for financial fraud.
The Southeast Michigan Task Force is a federal and local law enforcement partnership between national and state agencies. That includes the U.S. Secret Service, Homeland Security Investigation, the U.S. Postal Service, and the Internal Revenue Service. Local law entities include police departments in Novi, Troy, West Bloomfield, Royal Oak and Southfield.

Disclaimer: I am not referencing these articles to say that DS was involved in fraud and I don't believe this happened because she necessarily "knew" something. I am using them as examples for how these agencies have relevance to local cases within Michigan and whoever has her, wherever that may be, could be involved in something like this and the police know it.

This is a google doc I started and you can edit as you come across search (Berkley)related links

This is very useful - thanks! However, your first fact is a little off-- she left at around 5:00 according to what was said at the press conference. I was surprised because they described that as "early" and I would have thought that would have been her normal departure time.

But didn't the press conference announce the CIA as one of the 12 authorities assisting in this case?

CIA was not one of 12 named. The named agencies:
FHPD
Southfield PD
Dept of Corrections
SONIC
DEA
Secret Service
MSP
FBI
Oakland County Sheriff Office
Oakland County Prosecutor's Office

Hi All,

In terms of SS, I had to deal somewhat with them at a previous job. We received counterfeit money, and they quickly got involved. The bank immeaditely contacted them, and ss reached out to me (if I can remember correctly).

All I'm saying is that maybe their involvement is completely innocous, maybe they're the experts in tracing money...maybe where Danielle spent money is very important (same for FG).

OR maybe they knew that a disappearance like this would create massive unease. They could have tried to prevent chaos by showing involvement across all agencies.

Scrolling way down...

Forensic Services

The Secret Service is home to an advanced forensics laboratory, which includes the world’s largest ink library and the Forensic Information System for Handwriting (FISH). The lab is one of approximately 400 worldwide accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board under the International program . The laboratory is also accredited by the International Association for Property and Evidence, Inc. and is the only crime laboratory within the Department of Homeland Security with this accreditation. The Secret Service also provides expert analysis related to polygraph examinations, fingerprints, false identification documents, credit cards and other related forensic science areas.

The Secret Service deploys a unique blend of technologies and expertise in forensic and documentary photography, graphic and web design, geospatial imaging, video/multimedia production, forensic audio/image enhancement, forensic speaker recognition, as well as three-dimensional (3D) LiDAR data collection, modeling, animation and simulation.

In 1994, Congress mandated the Secret Service provide forensic and technical assistance in matters involving missing and exploited children. The Secret Service offers this assistance to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and the*National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

ETA I think it's safe to assume the SS does assist with other missing people, not just children..

Good info you left here is an interesting link I found

https://troymi.gov/portals/0/files/Police/AnnualReport/2015PoliceAnnualReport.pdf

This is an good review with examples of where Troy police department has worked with different agencies in solving various crimes. I know of many other Police Departments in both Oakland and Macomb following this to.

It saves departments money, gives them access to more resources, helps combine efforts to solve crimes and prosecute them. It's become very common in SE Mi with bad economy, several border crossings and high crime rate in Detroit that can often overflow to the suburbs.

12 Agencies:

FBI, Michigan State Police, Oakland County Sheriff's Dept, Oakland Prosecutors Office, DEA, Secret Service, Michigan State Police, Oakland Prosecutors Office, MI Dept of Correction, Southfield PD, SONIC, Farmington Hills PD

I saw reports of Novi PD & West Bloomfield PD as well

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/danielle-stislicki-disappearance_us_58502bc9e4b04c8e2bb207d1

I've seen cases on here where Secret Service was called on for the the technical expertise of their Investigative Support Division, particularly with enhancing surveillance video. They also maintain an office in Tulsa OK which works on cell phone technology and they work to expand forensic cell phone capabilities of US LE.

New here :) so I hope I am allowed to post this.I have been following this case from the beginning. I am a local and just thought maybe some of you may be able to follow up on this. An alert from CLICK ON THE D came up on Dec 16th about a body being found inside a burning house on Detroit's east side. I have not seen any updates or any indication that it was not DS or who it may have been. I hate the thought this could be her but just thought it was odd that no follow up report was ever done. Or none that I could find.

Welcome Rys1981 !
:welcome:

Thank you for the link - the update on the search for Danielle was on it as well! I see that Blue5591 posted it above!

Thanks to both of you !

Thank you for the info. I know it is sad but they really should get dive teams involved and do a thorough search of Lake Huron & Erie. The FBI is involved now so hopefully they are on that. At least if they find her body, even deceased there is closure for her family. Maybe they are onto the perpetrator and hoping they or someone else who may have been involved will confess to her whereabouts.

Just received an email alert from WDIV (Channel 4). Not Danielle.
