According to Richard Kuklinski: "According to Kuklinski, the murder was carried out for the Mafia and he was paid $40,000 to do it. Kuklinski describes driving to Detroit with four other gangsters and meeting Hoffa in a suburban restaurant. They hustled him away in their car and Kuklinski knocked him unconscious and stabbed him in the head with a hunting knife. Kuklinski then drove the body back to New Jersey in the boot of the car, which was crushed and sold as scrap metal. 'He's part of a car somewhere in Japan right now,' Kuklinski tells Carlo in the book, which will be published in July." http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006/apr/23/paulharris.theobserver

Can look at it 2 ways: Why trust a hitman/serial killer or why would he lie?

I had always heard that he was buried in concrete, but part of a bridge that was being built at the time. I guess anything is possible. I always figured we'd never know.

If not it's Hoffa, though, then I wonder who is buried there, and who the source is!

The other story that's prevalent around the northeast is that the car with Hoffa in it was buried on the construction site of the Meadowlands sports complex and is now under one end of the football field.

I always wonder how much a hit man really knows. He may know that he killed Hoffa and drove him to New Jersey, but once he turned the car over, he only knows what he's told and I can't imagine people higher up the chain would tell him the truth.

Police to take soil sample today after getting Hoffa tip
By Charles E. Ramirez and Christine Ferretti
The Detroit News

Roseville — Investigators plan Friday morning to sample the earth underneath a Roseville driveway to determine if human remains are present, though police are downplaying a tip that Jimmy Hoffa might be buried there.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is lending Roseville police a large drill that will send a 2-inch diameter plastic tube into the ground to retrieve a core soil sample from the ground outside a house on Florida Street. The area in question is about 10 feet below the concrete driveway.

Police plan to take the sample about 10 a.m.

Police to drill Michigan home in search for Jimmy Hoffa's body

A tipster claims a body was buried there around the same time Hoffa disappeared

Published On: Sep 28 2012 08:04:05 AM EDT

ROSEVILLE, Mich. -

The FBI said at the time that the disappearance could have been linked to Hoffa's efforts to regain power in the Teamsters and to the mob's influence over the union's pension funds.

Police and the FBI have searched for Hoffa intermittently ever since.

Roseville — The first initial reports are in, and it doesn't look like Jimmy Hoffa's body — or anyone's body — is buried under concrete in this peaceful suburb.

"The sample is muddy and filled with water," Roseville Police Chief James Berlin told reporters gathered outside a home on Florida Street. "There are no visible human remains present."

Pat: "I was told that a dead body might be buried in my backyard. I looked at the police officers and said, 'Are you trying to tell me Jimmy Hoffa is buried in my backyard?' They just looked at me weird and we all started laughing. They wondered why I mentioned Jimmy Hoffa and I told them because he is the best known dead body that they've been looking for for years."

A bit disappointed that at least someone wasn't down there.

They should have called Arpad Vass for a session with "the sniffer"! That's jmo. :)

I believe Kuklinski and I have read his book.

The reason is I figure he had both nothing to gain, nothing to lose.

Also my ex-husbands family ran junkyards with car crushers in a, let's put it this way, heavy mafia city. I remember them telling me a couple of times they watched the cars go in and lo and behold blood would ooze out. I said omg what did you do??

They told me nothing, they just turned their heads and saw nothing.
Or you would end up in one of those trunks.
All true.

I agree. The persons who kidnapped him would have had, I think, access to blast furnaces and car crushers and the like.

Certainly can't think why he would end up beneath a driveway in Roseville.

But not all criminals can be called masterminds.

BBM - I agree. "Ditch the gun but keep the cannolis."

Mob Underboss Anthony Zerilli Says Hoffa Left In Shallow Grave

January 14, 2013 10:40 AM

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Reported Detroit mob underboss Anthony Zerilli came out this weekend to say he knows where the bodies are buried — one body in particular, belonging to Detroit’s most notorious missing person — Jimmy Hoffa.

Zerilli, 85, told WDIV in Detroit Hoffa’s killers buried him in a shallow grave and were going to move him to a hunting lodge in northern Michigan after they offed him 37 years ago. But Zerilli — who was in prison at the time — said they left him where he was.

Local mob boss and expert Scott Burnstein thinks this is the biggest break in the Hoffa case since the union boss’ disappearance.

“I think this is the most credible person to ever come forward to talk about this story,” Bernstein said, adding Zerilli is the son of Detroit mafia founder Joe Zerilli and served as the Detroit mob underboss from 1979 to 2002...
